I started this January 1st as a monthly SO to my savings2
-
no #63 i normally get paid every 4 weeks so will probably be depositing december and novembers money earlier in the year say may and june. i bank a lot with monzo which rounds up my payments, this helps with having money for the next month savings, also use monzo easy saver which will put in interest monthly so i had to start with £5 each as it takes £10 to open,so my final total will be higher. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1p Savings Challenge me £4.96/667 1p Savings Challenge wife £4.96/6673

Is there a way to do this without forgetting?
My memory isn't what it used to be, and a SO doesn't seem to be of any use as it would need to be increased every day ...1 -

This is the first time I’ve done this and I opened an account with Monzo so I could run the automated savings applet on IFTTT but I want to do it backwards so the higher payment amounts are in January rather than December.I have manually transferred £14.54 for the first 4 days of January (as it’s gone midnight now) but is there a way to reverse the amounts on IFTTT? If not then I’ll just have to try to remember transferring the amount manually but if anyone knows a way I can automate it, that would be so much easier!Thank you and I’m happy with any number ☺️
Sounds like you have a plan using Monzo but I don't know how the savings applet works on IFTTT or how to automate it. Why do you want to reverse the amounts?
Can you create a separate savings pot in Monzo so you can see at a glance how much is in there? That is what I have done with my Starling account but I save monthly rather than daily purely so I remember to transfer it across as daily is too onerous. Whatever works for you though.
I will be posting below as to how reporting works but feel free to post on here daily if you wish to record for your own benefit.
I want to reverse the automated amounts using IFTT with Monzo because I’d rather the larger amounts were deposited in January, so £3.65 for 1st January and work backwards until it is a 1p deposit on 31st December if that makes sense?
I’ve printed off the tick sheet and stuck it in my journal so I will use that to keep track and then hopefully remember to post my monthly updates on here ☺️3 -
Happy New Year all!
I have never done this challenge before (though for the last few years I have told myself I would......) . I would love to join please enthusiasticsaver. I hope the thread doesn't make too much work for you.
I have been reading through the thread, and am planning my strategy (I do love the idea of a random number generator!!). Like most people, I don't use cash as much as I used to. For now I have put in a tin all the coinage I found on my bedside table-it came to £11.51, which = £3.65+£3.64+£3.63+8p, plus 51p I scratched around to find when I realised I had only potted for 4 days worth, instead of 5I think, going forward, I will be potting random amounts each day. I am self-employed, my income varies, and I haven't started back at work for the year yet, so not a lot of cash floating around just at the moment.
Oh, and I am also doing the sealed pot challenge!SPC #36 :staradminx 8.SPC7=£751.10 SPC8=£651.04 SPC9=£843.00 SPC10=£872.76
