Good morning savers. Just before I depart for my first gym session of 2023 I thought I would put a few suggestions down on reporting our progress as the thread is getting quite long to wade through now.
For new savers PLEASE READ POST NUMBER 1 TO SEE HOW THE CHALLENGE WORKS.
Just for clarification I have capitalised and emboldened to make the message stand out. I am not shouting. For new joiners please comment below asking to join rather than private messaging me. Thanks.
Please feel free to make comments as and whenever on here as the whole idea of the challenge is for us to cheer each other along and suggest ways of finding savings. I am taking @BlueJ94 s suggestion today to check pockets to find any loose change or notes. When I walk the dog I often put a fiver in my pocket in case my DH suddenly phones to say we have run out of milk and can I pop in the shop while out. Not sure what he thinks I will do with the dog though
As for reporting, I will only update the spreadsheet if you quote as per below so as to be clear.
Enthusiastic saver 001 reporting £4.96 for January (or £108.50 for December or any other month) or £55 (average monthly contribution or £25 for random contributions over January.
(This doesn't mean you are not welcome to comment as often as you like as to how much you have saved daily but I would prefer to only update the spreadsheet weekly or monthly rather than daily purely because of time constraints.)
As you see there are lots of ways of doing the challenge and feel free to report or not if you prefer to keep your own records. It would be great if people do participate in the reporting process too as a way of keeping track as to how much we save as a group too.

Thanks for updating monthly. You are right in that it will be less onerous if people report monthly and embolden so I can easily spot them. I am on MSE most days for about 30 minutes to sometimes much more than that due to ambassador duties anyway so hopefully will be ok for me to keep on top of reports.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. Hi @enthusiasticsaver,
I’m a complete newbie to posting here, and to the challenge, but have decided to give it a go this year. I’d love to join please if that’s okay. Our daughter is getting married next year and we need to be extremely organised financially, so this way I can at least know that Christmas will be sorted.I started on the 1st, have set up mine in HyperJar, and have an alert set on my phone for the same time each day to make sure I don’t forget to pop the money over.Hopefully this way it’ll just become habit and I’ll continue it every year.😊4
