Cazoo subscription cars : unfair changes to contract

Bvrla rules state they have 4 week limit in which to charge for damage and excess mileage, your car will be in a long que of cars waiting for its return checks for the above before they will issue refund of deposit - this is why they say it can take upto 4 weeks.iamfrankiemoran said:
I handed my car back on the 19th of February. Contacted them during the week and they responded saying it could take up to 4 weeks for them to process a refund. They said if I haven’t received a refund within this timeframe to contact them. Very very annoying, patiently waiting for the car to be listed online with them and then I’ll be pushing for a refund.MMPhi123 said:I've gone with Elmo for my new car and a good experience so far. My new car arrived, was in great condition and have a really comprehensive handover with the delivery chap. There wasn't a deposit to pay unlike with Cazoo, you just pay your first month up front at the time of booking. I also have a code which gets you £50 off, the code is VYJY4Z and their website is https://elmodrive.com/On another note, has anyone who dropped their Cazoo car back received their deposit refund yet? I dropped mine back two weeks ago but no sign of refund yet...

Its worth baring this in mind if anyone is over the mileage limit or any damage on vehicles - if you recieve charges after 4 weeks from the return of your car- its out of time and they can not charge you under their bvrla membership rules. Feel free to check too.

Oh that's really handy to know thank you, their 4 weeks is up this Saturday. I'd only had the car a few months so they shouldn't find any damage on it, just could really do with the deposit back....karlton273 said:Its worth baring this in mind if anyone is over the mileage limit or any damage on vehicles - if you recieve charges after 4 weeks from the return of your car- its out of time and they can not charge you under their bvrla membership rules. Has anyone received their refund yet? My four weeks were up yesterday so I've emailed the following:Hello,Further to the below, I have still not had any further contact. Additionally, according to the BVRLA fair wear and tear standards, page 9 ‘End of lease charges’:'If the BVRLA member intends to apply any charges, for example, for excess mileage, damage, or missing equipment, the customer must be advised no later than four weeks after the vehicle is collected or returned’It has now been over 4 weeks and as such I would request that the full amount of the deposit is refunded to my nominated bank account ending ****.Please advise when the payment will be made.Kind regards,0

My four week we're up today, however, Friday just passed I noticed my car went live on their website so contacting them saying surely I'm due my refund now since you are selling the car. Got a credit note and email confirming they have processed my refund and apologised about the delay. Hopefully you hear back soonMMPhi123 said:Has anyone received their refund yet? I'm just joining this thread as I've been sent a three month notice by Cazoo this morning. Unfortunately, I've got excess mileage on the car. Has anyone had experience with handing back their car with excess mileage?
Thanks0 -

March with just over 2000 miles excess mileage the 4 weeks time limit to charge me for it was up on monday just gone so luckily ive escaped queit a hefty bill, bare this in mind they have 4 weeks to charge you for for damage and excess mileage ,after that they can not bill you. Bvrla rules1 -
Be careful with this - it's a BVRLA Code of Conduct and has no absolute legal standing (but you do have an appeal/escalation process via BVRLA)karlton273 said:
