I get £333 and she gets £854, my amount is deducted from her initial amount and paid to me. I receive £530 rentalAlice_Holt said:Have you declared to UC that you are a couple?
Can you give us details of your joint monthly UC payments page from your UC journal?
What rental income do you receive? You should be claiming UC as a couple and your ESA should have been deducted in full from your UC. You said here that your ESA was being deducted from hers
Which isn't correct because she's not claiming ESA.Deleted_User said:My esa is deducted from hers,UC and your rental property was mentioned in your previous thread but you didn't mention anywhere in that thread that you're claiming UC.Who lives in the rental property, are you related to them? Is it just one property you own?In another thread back in July, you said you had savings of £14,000 did you report that to UC if you still have those savings. OP can you show a complete breakdown of her UC payment statement.Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.0

Were you living together in July when you had 14K in savings and have you declared that, your rental income and that you own a property that you’re not living in?
If not, you are setting yourself up for a world of pain. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
None of this was mentioned in your other thread about your ESA ending and your concern about what you will receive when that happens.Deleted_User said:?. my amount is deducted from her initial amount
If your ESA is being deducted from her UC (which it now appears is what she is getting) then when the ESA stops so will the deductions so the UC will go up and your joint income will be unchanged.
in the last thread you asked about how your rental property affected your ESA, you don’t appear to have considered how it affects the entitlement UC.Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.0 -
In a previous thread you were concerned about what money you would be receiving when your ESA ends. Yet you have a property which you don't live in, you're receiving over £500 rent per month, UC with your partner and potential savings of more than £10,000.

So that confirms you are claiming UC as a couple. You need to report that you have a property because if you don't then they will find out and your situation will become so much worse. Any overpayment will need to be repaid back.

So that shows that you are correctly claiming UC as a couple. There is no Housing Benefit (help with rent is part of UC) and that she does not get ESA. As mentioned above, when your ESA stops, the ESA deduction will stop and the UC will increase so no overall change in your joint income.
However, if you have more than £16,000 of equity in the rental property there is no entitlement to UC unless you are renting to a close relative with Limited Capability for Work or who is of pension age in which case the property can be disregarded.Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. If I withdraw my claim to any benefit apart from PIP would that stop her UC claim including help with rent etccalcotti said:So that shows that you are correctly claiming UC as a couple. She cannot claim means-tested benefits (in this case UC) as a single person while you are living together.Deleted_User said:
