So, regarding having too much capital what benefits can be claimed if you unable to work?
No means tested benefits can be claimed (including UC).
Non means tested benefits ca be claimed if you meet the qualifying conditions.
    • New style ESA (as discussed in your previous thread) if ill health prevents work and you meet the NI requirements - currently you have just used up your 12 month entitlement because you were not put in the Support Group but I understand you have asked to be reassessed.
    • PIP if ill health affects ability to carry out various activities.
Yes i am being reassessed as my health conditions have worsened, I'm waiting for the form and they've said I might have to be interviewed face to face

It could be several months before you have your next WCA. Once your ESA ends you will not receive any further money unless placed into the Support Group.
Have you reported the changes for your UC claim because of your capital and savings?
  • I was told by my work coach my money wouldn't stop. I haven't reported it yet.

It is your responsibility to let them know of any changes. And your girlfriends for the changes in her circumstances.
From gov.uk, for Universal credit examples include (amongst others)
    • finding or finishing a job
    • moving in with your partner
    • moving to a new address
    • changing your bank details
    • your rent going up or down
    • changes to your health condition
    • becoming too ill to work or meet your work coach
    • changes to your earnings (only if you’re self-employed)
    • changes to your savings, investments and how much money you have

You could be taken to court or have to pay a penalty if you give wrong information or do not report a change in your circumstances.

So it does beg the question as to why you/your partner (if it is her UC claim) haven't informed them of such material facts such as it should now be a joint claim, or one person in the joint claim owning a property that is being rented out,  or that the level of savings might be relevant.

When your work coach told you it wouldn't affect your money, were they in possession of all the facts? Either way, you/your partner need to give the correct full information as required for someone to look at the circumstances and make a decision.  Even if it's not going to make a difference, it should still be reported.

All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

That simply isn't correct. With savings/capital of more than £16,000 you're entitlement to all means tested benefits will end, as has been advised several times.
Did you have the property when you claimed UC? If so why didn't you report it, when you claim UC it asks you if you have any property.
  • I will inform them of the property

You will need to "report a change of circumstances" then click savings, investments and other capital from the list. You need to report all of your savings as well as any properties you own.
The sooner you do this the better it will be for you because they will find out sooner or later. It's benefit fraud you're commiting by not telling them.

How will I pay it back?  Instalments?

Do I need to inform them of my savings even though they're a little under £16,000?

    YES.

It asks you to list your accounts & balances.

Yes, you need to tell them about all of your savings and all your properties, even if it's just 1! You are being extremely difficult here.
