donna73 said:@QueenJess 😱 thanks for the info about nail polish, I think I have a lifetime supply then!! I only ever really do my toes , and that’s only in the summer when I can be bothered 😂 so why have I got so much?!? I think I will list some on olio. Also I’ve not heard of “buy nothing” is that an app? Or website? We are trying to pass on as much stuff as possible and also only buy as much 2nd hand as we can, might be a good place to look.
It can be addictive though and I have also picked up lots of stuff on there as everything is free.
My local one is really good, but they will vary depending on your region and how good the moderators are etc.
You can get people to knock on the door so it’s another way of meeting people as well.
I would try buy nothing for bundles of nail varnish.2025 decluttering: 3,993🌟🥉🌟💐🏅🏅🌟🥈🏅🌟🏅💐💎🌟🏅🏆🌟🏅

Good morning all
I have returned from the TLC carriage - I dont know why I have not done this self care thing before I do feel better. Im not up to date yet with all the posts so apologies for that
joanie Im exactly the same I too was a mover of clutter. I created so many piles to be sorted that I would get frustrated and give up and shove it back in the cupboard. Checkout dana k whites website... a slob comes clean. She often collaborates with the minimal mom .Her way of decluttering you can be interrupted or only do a few minutes and you've not left part jobs or piles of mess. I often do a small drawer in the kitchen whilst the kettle is boiling using her method.
madbat60 me too! love my hedgehogs. We have a 'hedgehog highway' . neighbour has a hole in his fence, i do too . My hogs use me as a 'pit stop' they are not resident as they move through at night - my night cam has picked up 4 at my feeding station .It started with a log pile that was meant to go in a skip we never got around to getting , it attracted hogs and has been there since. We now leave that bit of the garden messy and also leave part of our grass long in the summer.
I need to tell you all I have been on and off the decluttering waggon for years. One tip i heard was to have a vision for the space you are trying to clear. My room of doom i wanted as a guest room. This weekend for the first time i had a friend visit and stay it was brilliant! |She commented on how tidy my home was. I did confess i was a stufffer of drawers and cupboards, but i did feel chuffed. I will post my progress later26 -
hope the picture is clear enough - 3 hogs eating

Oh My Days!!! Does this thread move or what!!!
Have read the last couple of pages (love the pics of the hogs) and will try to back-track & catch up in small chunks throughout the day - 15 pages worth….
There seems to be some excellent flingage going on tho’
Work-life has been ultra busy so today is a day to take stock and see where we are at on the home front. Back later.
Gentle (((hugs))) to all, love Thriftyxxx23 -
1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks
2. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ I have an acronym - I.R.I.S. being Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off
3. Implement a new sleep/wake up regime - start going to bed earlier (target before 2:00 a.m.) get up earlier (target by 9:00 a.m.)
4. Deal with daily mail immediately
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. If I spot a mini task deal with it immediately e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
7. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Sunday 12:30 - I did get dressed, woke DH & ‘persuaded’ 😉 him to do half an hour of office tidying whilst he was drinking his first coffee 😅 We have 3 of these filing cabinets
I dusted, wiped down & wheeled the 1st one into the office. So like with like we found all types of paper from shelving, other cabinets etc & organised into the drawers tick ☑️. Cleaned & wheeled in 2nd cabinet - gathered together all his maps from shelving & a movable plastic deep drawer storage cabinet. DH was very good - 3 into recycling bag & half a dozen added to my CS pile. Then left DH in peace to drink his coffee & contact his niece re any shopping required for his visit to hospital - just a bar of chocolate & a hot chocolate 😉 DH left about 2:15 p.m. M was bright & chatty for a couple of hours but still dropped off quite easily & her cough is back 😔
DH home about 5:30 p.m. - coffee & 15 minutes of putting together the large desk tidy delivered whilst he was out. Meanwhile I did write up two draft letters, enveloped, addressed & stamped & ready to post. Then back to knitting - completed a 4th ear warmer headband (from one 100g ball) & started a 5th from a new ball of a different colour. Cleared down a few more TV programmes from planner. (DSis was inspired to do some tidying/decluttering in her bedroom - one bag of detritus, 5 newspapers & 4 small cardboard boxes 👏)
DH prepped & cooked our dinner (the 2nd HF meal from the ‘wrong’ set of meals - Vietnamese inspired Beef Noodles with Pak Choi) whilst I sorted out DSis’s dinner of fried chicken pieces, boiled potatoes & peas. Our dinner was absolutely delicious 😋 DSis did the washing up & left to dry.
165 - 178 Kitchen recycling, 5 newspapers, 4 cardboard boxes, 3 damaged maps, drinks cans - recycled
179 - 180 Kitchen & bedroom detritus binned
Monday I woke up 7:30, put dressing gown on & am drinking my first cuppa & ready to catch up on the cheerleading 🙂 Still dark & damp outside 🙁
Some days are just like that joanie 😔 A plan is formed, you get started, unintentionally tweak the plan & all of a sudden chaos reigns & your decluttering mojo runs away & hides 😉 However there is a silver lining & a positive outcome - you have learned something new about your decluttering style 👏 Multiple location/cupboard decluttering is not for you & armed with the knowledge that you are a ‘bit by bit declutterer’ your next session will be restricted to one cupboard or drawer & you will be more discerning about what to keep 😊 Keep up the good work 👏
vulpix, no pressure from your Mum, then 😉 What a lovely day out 🙂 &what a charmer MrV is 🥰 Well done on fb sales 👏 Hope your foray into the pantry of doom was successful 🤞I looked up L’Occitane tins - pretty 😍 & yes I would also save for Justin 😊
What a lovely post Soontobeoap 😊 Hope you didn’t get too muddy on your excursion to the craft shed 🤞 Great work (even if some of it was unintentional) 👏 The thing is that each decluttering session is a learning experience - we are all honing our skills & forming good habits so that eventually we only keep what is useful or precious to us 😊 Hope your trawl through the photo boxes was successful & that DD has her baby photo 🤞😉 Your school reports sound like my DH’s - are you sure you are not related 😂
Brie, holding vinyl as ransom 😅 Perhaps learning to drive a snow plough is next on your skills to acquire list Brie 😉 Then the next time you are snowed in you can offer your services (at a price of course) & provided they can locate the vehicles 😂
QueenJess, good luck with the decluttering in DD’s room 🍀 As you say, the less stuff the easier it will be to reorganise the furniture & the less likely that you will need to buy any extra furniture 🙂 Good decluttering 👏 I second daisy_1571’s advice re Siebrie’s good ideas 🙂
Excellent decluttering Ginmonster 👏 (2023 items equates to about 6 items a day)
daisy_1571, lightning ball is the name I recognise rather than Thunderball 🙂 but no matter what it is called it is beautiful 😍
Now, now skint_chick - I will have none of that “Everyone else seems to be making much faster progress than me” You are doing a great job as only being able to declutter at weekends puts constraints on the amount you can do 🙂 Excellent decluttering re sale items - a few ££ into the coffers is always useful 👏
Blue skies always lift my spirits EnergyShifter 😊 Lunch sounds lovely & feet up afterwards sounds even better 😊 Excellent decluttering 👏
You are most welcome Madbat60 🙂 As to being obsessed about hogs, nothing wrong with that 😊 I am keeping everything crossed that she decides to stay - after all you have made a wonderful home for her 🤞 Good decluttering 👏
Excellent work JC67 👏 Especially impressed that only one item has com into your home 👏
What a lovely post bit_by_bit & I especially like your reassurance to skint_chick 😊 Sounds like a lovely family day if rather exhausting 🙂 Good decluttering too 👏
Off to get dressed & make another cuppa. See you later.

Back again - still fretting about how to categorise my decluttering. In the last hour I have got dressed, made the bed, picked-up, put away, WUDUPA, wash-load on, elec & gas metres read, top-up shopping list made and USB driveway lights set to charge (bought to deter numpties from parking in front of our driveway
)
Is this decluttering - the only thing decluttered is time & tasks - off to do some admin - back later,

mumf, so sorry to read that. Very satisfying to have a good fling out though.
Mission Control is looking slightly better. There is one piece of post that needs a bit of brain power - will try to get that done this week - and once done will leave a clearer space for looking through the rest.
Christmas boxes put away at the weekend. Decided to keep battery lights out, put one set in bedroom and other set in living room, as I have a number of batteries heading towards their use by date so will use up batteries cheering up my home instead of having to bin them when they inevitably start leaking acid.

Well @mumf. Sorry to hear your news but inspired that you are doing what many are doing on here really. Clearing before someone else has to do it for us.
Thankyou @Mrs_Salad_Dodger
I have also kept out some lights @thriftyscotslass. They aer keeping th place cheery now the decs are gone.
S this morning its more sorting upstairs. Some stuff will go loftside that I have picked up for grankids to play with. Anything thwy wont be playing with in boxes with the appropriate age. I have been mapping my non selling storage in the back of my selling book. All in one place.
PM a food shop and a visit ti inlaws to do more sorting.
