@Dfw38 I know it is longer than ideal, but that's quite a "good" wait in terms of current wait lists - please ask the consultant about how best to mitigate any problems while waiting for your treatment to start.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

@mumf sorry to hear what's going on, echoing in others how thoughtful of you to sort things for others.
2 frogs eaten , one hanging around for a few months, also put more decorations away and used labels brought from my dad's to label boxes so don't have to go through these lots of times.
Giving DD1 lift back from I*ea and hopefully not going in myself. Concerned that progress over last few years not evident at the moment but then have to think if I hadn't been on the EDT what would home be like!!
Total 92
certainly not ready for the net counting as I bought bargain pj bottoms replacing those in just gone to recycling.17 -
@Florenceem
Make sure you blow off some steam after your course. It's so hard when confronted by some of the nastiness the world contains. I have to ensure I do this with work colleagues as the OH couldn't handle any of it - all I can say to him sometimes is that a course I've been on is interesting or that work was satisfying else he'd be a bundle wet rags. I did a full day course on safe guarding a couple of months back and when I got home all I could say to him was that they we're selling gift bags very cheaply in the lunch room and that I'd bought some.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. @Dfw38 That sounds like a better outcome that you feared, but I understand your worry- hugs. I guess they wanted the scan reported on by a radiologist, so they knew what they were dealing with.
I've been sent a follow up gynaecologist appt for June- they said it would be within a week! As I said to OH, at least I'm not on the 2ww any more, so I should be reassured by that. Thankfully, the GP is managing the anaemia and I am getting a Mirena coil fitted in the meantime....
I ended up doing a bit more decluttering this afternoon (I have the bug today, it seems!)
53. Some junk that had been accumulating in a box in the kitchen
54. Some water bottles that leak (recycling)
55. A travel coffee cup without a lid (recycling)
56. Some of DD's plastic plates and cups (these are immaculate, so went in the charity shop bag)
57. I cleared out my everyday rucksack- it wasn't bad, as I tend to keep on top of it, but nobody needs to carry around 5 pens!16 -
Dfw38 said:@daisy_1571 that was my initial reaction too 🤣 he has a cute little face!
Maybe we should make him the decluttering 2023 mascot!

I have been busy with the decorating, it seems to be never ending and the muscles that I had forgotten I owned are complaining loudly💪 ouch! Why did I think it would all be finished by today ? Only this afternoon have I begun gloss painting the skirting boards, with another coat needed tomorrow hopefully we can start wallpapering on Wednesday 🤞
I decluttered 2 loads of washing yesterday, it was dry by this morning and I've put it away. I also filled a cs bag and it was collected this morning, I just didn't have time to take it to a shop and I wanted it gone. I'm positive that when we sort through the bags of stuff taken from the desk and cabinet a lot more will be ready to go.
I used up an unopened bag of cocktail sausages from the freezer by making a casserole which we had for tea yesterday and again today. There is a small amount left so I'll have that tomorrow with a jacket potato, DH will have something with oven chips. Pudding was a mince pie (also from the freezer) and ice cream.
Happy decluttering everyone. Take care and hugs to the poorly ones or anyone in need.

It will repurpose most of what we have and we just have to buy 2 frames. I've then moved one piece of furniture in DD's room to see roughly how it would look and am liking it already. Just need to think about how to move the rest round so I can get the best feel of how it will look before I buy anything. I will be excited to get that room and the dreaded clothes finally sorted. In the meantime, I went through the overflowing box of clothes for DD's next size up. I managed to declutter a bit, but I still have too much there. I was finding it difficult to do more, so I suspect I will need to do multiple rounds. I really want to get it into 1 box ideally! A little bit everyday is definitely the easiest way to do this for me.459-67 - kids clothes (too many! - gone to school charity bag)
DxxThank you! That's very kind!1) When my children were small (until about 8) I had a box in their room where I could immediately put any clothes that were too small. As soon as it was full, I would close it, and either send it to husband's relatives in Africa (dd2's too small clothes), or label it with the size range (dd1's too small clothes) and put it in the attic for dd2 to grow into. Every so often: see point 3.2) My sister and several other people (especially 1 colleague who had 3 daughters and bought all posh stuff, Burberry, Tommy Hilfiger and the like) gave me children's clothes. I would do a quick check on suitability, and anything I could never see my dds wearing went into a box for donation; the rest went in sturdy plastic boxes in the attic.3) I split the clothes into boxes for dd1 and for dd2, separated into 'tops', 'bottoms', 'underwear', 'summer coats', of any size they have to grow into (the categories sometimes share a box: left side underwear, right side tops, etc). The sizes are all mixed, because I have found that they are such a muddle, that they have to try the items on to see whether they fit. It's much easier to pick up a pile of trouwers and try them on, than it is to look through boxes in up-sizes of miscellaneous clothes for one pair of trousers that will hopefully fit.4) All our winter gear is in a box of its own.5) At the moment I have 2 80l boxes for dd1 and 4 80l boxes for dd2; I hope to go through them again in March, when the weather turns warmer, and get rid of 1 box of dd1's and at least 1 of dd2's. We now have 1 box 'donations' on the go all the time, which catches everything we no longer want.

Brie - Mr F was on the course with me. He knew that today would be hard for me as I suffered abuse in my first marriage. In fact I was the only one on the course to have experience of the subject - we were a group of 4 - Mr F and 2 unmarried woman who have not been in a relationship. The Bible passages from the Old Testament that we studied were violent and blood thirsty. It was good to get on to the New Testament study.
Decluttering wise - I am up to 452 as against aim of 136 on day 16.

Not much to report but I took other's advice and my 23 minute ++ froglet was having a nice afternoon sleep in the TLC carriage followed by bacon sandwiches ( weight is not going down). I had hoped to hear from contractor re decorating and flooring but no news. A bit nervous about GP appointment tomorrow but will be glad when it is over.

@Floss, thank you. I was just staggered really. I have fortunately never had health problems before so have never really considered that would be a typical or good waiting time. But looking to the positives.... think of all the distracting displacement decluttering I can get done 😆
@mumf, so sorry to hear your news. I agree with everyone that you are being very considerate to think of the effect on your wife of any stuff/clutter left and feel free to rant on here or just offload any thoughts. They are a super team of support and I honestly believe (as Mrs SD said in an earlier post) that they are the friends we would choose to be by our side. (I'm ad-libbing but I am sure you read the original post too)
@Millie2008_2, I will be under the gynaecology dept too although it is stomach related. Yikes for your appointment wait, what is 2ww if you don't mind me asking? Glad your anaemia is being managed.
The Dr also told me that I am not to run the virtual marathon this year. She is concerned I will suffer heart failure as apparently the anaemia can cause this as the heart has to work so hard when running. I have decided to walk the marathon instead, had a look at the 'rules' and apparently it is a common occurrence with people who have health concerns that would be affected by running the race. So marathon walking training starts tomorrow.
Love your idea @daisy_1571. When my dd brought home the beavers teddy we had to fill out a book with pictures if all the adventures we had with him, imagine the adventures our mascot would have!2024 decluttering Campaign
