Thanks for the medal!!
224-227: another 4GB data deleted
228-241: items to bin
242-257: items to recycling
I have a second level to this stuff shifting which I called deferred decisions. This is the stuff that's been here a while and needs a bit of an extra push to leave the nest...
4-24: items to sell have been identified and laundered - some need a bit of dusting - and the whole lot needs photographing to do a teaser post on a specialist FB group tomorrow.‘Keep your eye on the donut and not on the hole.’ David Lynch.

Been reading along but may have missed some posts.
Mrs SD I think you're over optimistic of my tidying abilities.
yesterday deleted around 200 photos off my phone (had phone call with mobile provider as has to be send off and over 1000 items to be backed up. Not sure if those deleted will come back to haunt me
Had been overwhelmed but this morning got up, did washing, D/w which seems to be working better (had new arms and pump fitted last week) and swept leaves (but still in the garden).
Non working clock freegled, and big living room storage picked up from dad's (DB dealt)
Bought items yesterday and most back today but also bought bigger size jeans as can't fit in other things and can't keep wearing trackkies or my one smart trousers which are going bald (velvet)
@vulpix belated thank you for the advice on furniture. I soapy washed a standard lamp and table lamp and they look so much better (no oil or wax or polish as yet) Took little time and will post a pic tomorrow in day light. Both over 50/60 years old and working !
DD2 started to do room and said doesn't know what to do with box of cables - well in with it 3 battery packs (one all taped together) razor, hairdryer, part of a mouse and other assorted unidentified objects. think alot of cables can go but now just putting small ones in the spare plastic bags from covid tests.
Pjs worn out and 1 pair of slippers so will go in recycle.
Some xmas things away - counting as 20 so total 8820 -
TC77 I was wondering if you had done any renovating as I was watching Vera and scraping varnish off my latest project with a vegetable knife. A small oak cupboard/bookshelf. Think it’s Arts and Crafts.
We will see if any trades turn up tomorrow. Every where is gritty but no point in cleaning yet.I keep reading of Nick Knowles TV programme. Can someone tell me where, when? I am always looking for something decent to watch on TV.Vx:18 -
Hi all,
@joanie, don't get disheartened we all have days like that and we have all changed our minds about chucking stuff, that's how we all got here. Can I suggest you tackle 1 place at a time as that might be a bit less overwhelming. I know this can be difficult as you want to put something in another place but that needs sorting as well so you start doing that and before you know it everything is everywhere. I have only been sorting 1 corner in the lr but the whole room looked like a bomb had hit it while I was mid sort.
@Vulpix, glad you had a change of scenery, hope it helped. Yes I understand your fear. Maybe you can make a start on your Mum's things by thinking about what she will need or want with her when she is in the care home, hopefully long term. Then you can ask her about some of the other things. Unfortunately what one person thinks is important is not always the same as another person. Cute little tins are a real problem for me and people keep giving them to me because they know I like them and they don't know what else to do with them
@Slinky, well done on rescuing the bottle brush. I must admit any plants in my garden are told there will be no mollycoddling, live or die, the choice is yours and apart from when the beast from the east hit and we had deep snow on the ground for about 4 weeks they have all done ok
@Millie2008_2, take care, the most important thing is your health, hugs
@Dfw38, there are different iron tablets that don't have the side effects, it might be worth speaking to your doctor about it. Hope you're blood test goes ok.
@Vulpix, not sure when Nick Knowles is on, I get it on catch up on channel 5, but others may know exactly when it's on.
Well today went quite well. I started with the bedside cabinet draw as some of the stuff from the meds bag in the lr had to go in there. I found 5 part used tubes of hand cream so they have been moved to a place where I can see them and use them up rather than starting a new one, I do have a few. Some stuff put into the bin / recycling. Found a Christmas gift of soaps, packaging removed and soaps put into undersink cupboard in bathroom. This led to a clean and tidy up in the cupboard and the bathroom. Stuff binned, why am I the only person who puts things in the bin? It's a mystery
Then brought some more bags of stuff upstairs from lr but most not put away yet
Borrowed tall steps from ln and when OH got home persuaded to check the wiring in the rose in lr. Had to hunt down a couple of appropriate screw drivers first then show OH how to turn off the leccy, then had to stand on the little ladders holding the torch above my head while OH inspected. All seemed good so another new bulb tried and it was fine. Then had to do a check around the house resetting clocks etc.
I then asked OH if we could move the stuff from the hall back into the car boot but not possible as the car has to be cleaned in prep for a pupil test next week first, sigh, I can see it being next weekend now. More sorting in lr, moved to the next corner and found a bottle of Archers, put in cupboard. When I told OH, oh yes that's mine. More stuff binned.
Returned tall steps to ln and stayed for a coffee and chat. She told a tale about her friend,J, who managed to put the needle on her sewing machine through her thumb, luckily missed the bone, and ended up with 2 fire engines, 6 firemen and 2 paramedics plus various family members who had to enter the house by cutting through the back door who then had to cut the sewing machine up to get her out. The firemen said it was easier to cut someone out of a car. The paramedics took her to the walk in as the wait time at the hospital was so long. She is fine and was quite upset because she was going to get her nails done next week but enjoyed the company of the firemen
So
108 light fixed
109 bedroom bin
110 bathroom bin
111 lr bin
112 kitchen recycling
113 self care
Take care everyone

Deb4 said:Hello all
My first proper post on this thread, I've made a list of things I've decluttered but I've left it at work so I will start from today and add them when I'm back at work
Also this year I am going to learn something new every month, so this month I want to learn how to play chess so I've got a chess set.
Can I count TV programmes I've recorded? As I have quite a few to watch
So far I have:
1-7 DS clothes sold on vinted
Take care everyone

@mfwin2019 thanks for mentioning about your 23 mins sort out of the freezer. I really need to defrost and sort mine out asap, but have been putting it off. But I think the 23 minutes thing could be the way to go. Doesn’t seem as daunting.@Moorviews how often do you do a stock take of your grocery cupboard? I’m thinking that this is maybe a habit I should get into. It would make me use up more stuff when I’m@QueenJess 😱 thanks for the info about nail polish, I think I have a lifetime supply then!! I only ever really do my toes , and that’s only in the summer when I can be bothered 😂 so why have I got so much?!? I think I will list some on olio. Also I’ve not heard of “buy nothing” is that an app? Or website? We are trying to pass on as much stuff as possible and also only buy as much 2nd hand as we can, might be a good place to look.More random decluttering from the last few days…Past their best grapes to the chickensCardboard - compost bin7x jars from growing stash (note to self: there’s only so many jars one woman can reuse!)Magazine - recyclingCardboard box - compost binMagazines x2 passed on to friendBits of Rubbish from car x3Deleted apps no longer needed x2 (counting as 1 item as not physical)Unsubscribed from emails x5 (counting as 1 item as not physical)Old blenderSoap dish - given away on olioCandle holder - sold on vintedReused packaging x 3Dying flower arrangement - compost binDecluttering total so far 275/ 2023I’m finding it amazing that after getting rid of so much last year, that there still appears to be plenty to let go of! And so far, although I keep adding to my list of frogs, froglets and TOADS! to tackle, I am pleased that I’m managing to cross them off regularly too. I think I’m going to use the 23 min idea to keep on top of them from now on and see how that goes.Finding it so useful to read about how everyone is going about their decluttering, it’s keeping me inspired and giving me lots of ideas- Thankyou! 😀Word for 2023 …PROACTIVE 🧡 2023 -decluttering campaign 1020/2023 ⭐️⭐️Saving towards paying off car in November…£720/£1500 🚗22

Boy o Boy, are we slinging stuff out,or giving it away! I am very poorly, and in less time than I like,I won’t be here. So am getting organised , so that my wife doesn’t have rubbish to sort,as she may move house eventually. Should have done this years ago! She has cleared the kitchen. My word we had some stuff! And wardrobes. Me. Garden and workshop. Unbelievable amounts of junk. To me anyway. My neighbour has taken a fair bit of stuff for himself,so it’s a big help.26
