daisy_1571 said:My top tip flamingo is to get shirts on hangers buttoned up as soon as they are out the washing machine. Straighten it out with your hands whilst wet. Saves a lot of wrinkles starting. Never bundle them into an 'ironing basket' as again its just putting wrinkles in, keep them on hanger.

And hang the trousers upside down, neatly pleated, so they resemble a V with 2 pins holding each leg attached to the line (assuming you have somewhere with 2 parallel lines).

3 shifts till Christmas... (then 5 more between 27th and 31st) so am checking what's in the fridge and freezer along with the opening hours for the local shops.
A few things to add to the total for 2023:
4581-4582: 100 emails deleted or unsubscribed
4583-4586: items to recycling
4587-4611: items to bin. (Cleared the fridge for festive purchases)
Deferred decisions made:
557-562: contents of a bag for life carefully sorted and binned as a carrier inside had disintegrated.‘Keep your eye on the donut and not on the hole.’ David Lynch.

Or if no one wants them, the socks that is, put them in a rag bag for a harity shop. Or offer them at your local community fridge if you have one. I took my old kettle there on the offchance, they said they coldn't give it away because it was electric so I just stood in front of the queue and shouted ' does anyone want an electric kettle?'. It went immediately....

Hi all, still not feeling great today. In between sleeping and drinking hot drinks I did manage to do some wrapping and I packed OH off to the carol singing with 6 presents and a bottle of liqueur to be shared around in lieu of cards and a bottle of noseco for OH and any other drivers from stash
. We have quite a lot of bottles as OH gets given them from pupils. The lr bin was emptied twice, still finding rubble to fill it
.
Tired again so off to bed, hugs to anybody who would like one
1658 - 1663 present, wrapping and tags
1664 + 1665 bottles of drink
1667 + 1668 lr bin emptied
Take care everyone

First things first - Yes please I would love to join in next year !
- thanks so much for running it again Mrs SD
I had all my radiators replaced on Weds and a snazzy heated towel rail put in the new bathroom - it's my new favourite thing that I own! The whole house was in upheaval for 12 hours - tools everywhere, floorboards up! . I'd foolishly thought I could work while it was going on..... thankfully I'd only booked calls for the morning - had to work from bed for some of the calls! By the end of the day I was shattered to the point of crying! & that was just watching someone work
! The reward - I can hardly believe how much more quickly the house heats up now!
I finished work yesterday until 8th January !!! I've been pottering around putting things back - touching up paintwork patches left by the radiators being changed - 3 of them are much smaller. The old radiators got snapped up by scrap metal people in about 30 mins!
My trip to TK Maxx last Sunday worked really well and I got DS's present - lots of clothes. The remaining 2 presents to buy were just boxes D chocolates for neighbours so got them at the supermarket last night. We also managed to pick up some food - we need to get some more over the next couple of days but got the basics.

Can't imagine I'm going to get back up to my 1:3 ratio by the end of the year as I'd have to discard 12 items and not bring any in - I will give it a go though. My original target was a 1:2 ratio so I've comfortably achieved that.
Mrs SD - you asked about my Saturday morning course. Its a called "Growing in Faith & Life" - its a discipleship course run by my local Diocese. I only returned to Christianity 2 1/2 years ago & I got baptised last year at the age of 61! I really enjoyed the preparation for my baptism and this course has given me structure for that journey.
Sending love to all
