Hi all, nothing much done except I did pay my credit card bill, in full
. Still trying to sort out the footy ticket and if it's not done by tomorrow morning I will have to go onto the club chat help as they don't answer the phone any more
. I dozed a bit this afternoon but tired again now. I can see me getting quite bored and ratty before long but without the energy to do much. The weather continues to be dire with strong winds and rain so I can't get into the garden for a change of view but I do have a window open for some fresh air, can't sleep with the window shut. On has had to put her garden furniture in the shed as it keeps being blown around. The other day I moved the glass top from her table into the gap at the side of the shed as the wind had blown the whole table onto the lawn. It is quite a big heavy metal table so we were amazed that had happened and now all the chairs are in the shed even though they were covered with a tarpaulin the wind managed to get right underneath and lift them all.
Sorry rambling, off to bed now so hugs to anybody who would like one
1671 credit card paid
Take care everyone

Oceanspirit - I hope you can ward off your OH’s efforts to reclutter the kitchen!
Flowerpot - glad the CS were finally able to take those five bags.Vulpix - beautiful photo and despite the short winter days it must be amazing to live up there.
Energyshifter - the upheaval must have been horrible but it sounds like it will be worth it for the luxury of extra warmth.London_1 - JackieO it is great that your grandsons are so helpful and that you are getting on brilliantly with your big clear out.@Liverpool_Anne - it’s terrible timing for Covid but unsurprisingly with all the crowding indoors for events and shopping it is indeed spreading around. I hope that you have everything that you need, can keep warm and comfortable and don’t suffer too badly from it. Having missed being able to go on a holiday this year through having Covid, you have my every sympathy 💐
Mrs SD - I am another who is very grateful for all the support this year and I am over the moon that you will be opening a new thread for 2024. I look forward to being on the journey with fellow declutterati friends and yourself as the shining star 🌟 of cheerleading.
I have an overwhelming list of things to do so I might not get back in here to post before Christmas. In case I don’t, I wish you all a happy and peaceful Christmas and hope that you enjoy your celebrations of the season xxx18 -
Good morning! I finished work yesterday and it was manic right up to the end. Had a sleep afterwards and then watched some of the new season of the Crown. The actors are sooooo good I’ll miss it when it finishes.
Dog2 was a very naughty boy yesterday and def dodged a bullet. He decluttered a chunk of Yule log by pinching it off the kitchen worktop……luckily it was chocolate flavour rather than actual chocolate 🤨. This morning he’s been staring at his doggy advent calendar. Hmmmm Santa might bring him coal - except he’d probably eat that too!!!

Is it silly to be so excited about going to the tip
, just awaiting DGS Ben to arrive and remove the two spare seats where the boot should be. I have a seven seater that turns into a small van
then he will load the broken to bits computer desk plus 11 bags of junk, and several small bags that I did last night as well .
We will have no dustmen collection locally until the New Year ,but then I'm away later so I'm not too bothered.
I looked on the weather, and although its windy its dry in Kent, and the sun is out now so last night I did the last wash load of the year (only a small one ) and its blowing away nicely on the line at the moment. That will be dry enough to put on the airer at lunchtime .Nothing I need to be wearing anyway but I hate to leave washing to be done when I'm away,I like an empty laundry basket when I come home.
I have a few tomatoes in the fridge and some cheese so I'll knock on my young neighbours door as I always pop anything left to her when I'm away, as she always uses it up there is only her and her two little girls so every little helps and I don't want to be throwing good food away. She's a good lass and will keep an eye on my house as well.
Well I'm just going to pop the coffee pot on for ben as he is a coffee drinker and can't stand teaso soon my house will be looking a lot clearer and emptier than it was
Cheers chums Happy decluttering Christmas:):)

Hi,
LiverpoolAnne, I do hope you are feeling better soon, same for all other people under the weather. I hope you can stay in and hibernate for a bit.
It has been wild here recently with the strong winds roaring through the wood at the side of the house. I am very grateful that a huge dangerous oak tree was cut down a while ago. Very sad but the stream had eroded the soil from around the roots.
Moorviews, the Shetland islands are stunning and the community is second to none. It would be so easy for my daughter to just stay forever but she is ambitious and the islands can't offer the opportunities she wants. I on the other hand could move there tomorrow, but the islands need young folk not retirees. I will post another pic that she sent me last week.
More cooking for me today. Cauliflower base pizza and cake for trifle. My track record with cake is not good. I can't remember if I said I tried to make Mr V a birthday cake and it was a disaster. Not as bad as the custard cake I tried to make for DD2's birthday which was burnt and raw. It rose out of the tin and through the oven shelf and was making a bid for freedom out of the oven door.
My replacement for the everlasting freebie pen only lasted 2 weeks,I am now on a new to me pen that I found down the new to me sofas. I have lost 2.5 stones now and bras in particular are too big so off they go to Africa. More pillowcases to go too as they come through the wash.
New numbers 1464
Well done London1, your move will be smooth as you will have no unnecessary stuff on board. A clear house will sell well too. Exciting times ahead for you.
Goodness look at the time!
Vx

Hi all
@vulpix - amazing pics thank you. Shetland is on my list to visit. I love the TV prog and have been watching from series 1 on catch up not just for the drama but for the scenery - & Perez too of course
@London_1 - I'm excited for a trip to the tip in the new year !! I am sat looking at my garden and various items that need to be tipped after the festive season.
@Liverpool_Anne - hope you feel better soon.
I've decluttered 2 gift bags and a roll of wrapping paper to DD1 to use for presents for her friend's daughter. I've also decluttered gift wrap, trimmings, gift bags, Xmas cards from my stash - the only thing i had to buy was gift tags.
I've decluttered my FT job till 2 Jan.
Today I'm decluttering dust as I will be doing house chores.
Love to all
Deni

DSis finally headed off to the P.O. at about 15:45 to post her parcel (& a couple of letters for me) 🙂 I vacuumed all rooms downstairs & only had to empty the cleaner once 😉 I have watched several more episodes of Waking The Dead & continued knitting. I made a large pan of bolognaise sauce & we had some of it with pasta shells. Wudupa. I watched the final of Countdown - the finalists had a combined age of 40 😥 which made me feel very old 😔 When I went to bed, DH was still up as he was awaiting a reply from the tree pruning chap 😱
2527 - 2529 Kitchen recycling, drinks cans, empty wine bottle - recycled
2530 Kitchen detritus binned
Saturday is another dark grey day. DH stayed up all night - eventually getting a reply at 09:00 & the chap is turning up at 10:30. DH has fed the worms & the birds.
London_1, no wonder you are happy 😊 DGS Jack was a very busy bee yesterday - 11 bags 🤩 As both you & he have worked so hard I am awarding you each a Gold Star ⭐️⭐️ By the time your decorator comes back in January he will barely recognise your house 😉 Excellent decluttering 👏 Hopefully Santa will leave behind a few empty bags for the next onslaught 😉
Crazycatlady2, pleased to hear that eldest DS & DD help out at least sometimes 😊 Well done on having a quieter day yesterday as it sounds like today is going to be very busy 😉
Liverpool_Anne, so sorry to hear that both you & OH have tested positive 😔 I am keeping everything crossed that you only have mild symptoms for a very short duration 🤞 Although your description “sweary mcsweary” did make me smile 😀 Such a pain having to cancel all your arrangements 😡 I agree with you about the government guidelines - they are about as useful as a chocolate teapot 😔
flamingo747, hope you enjoyed your pampering session 😊
Excellent tidying oceanspirit 👏 I hope you put OH on the ‘naughty step’ after such a bizarre suggestion 😂
Liverpool_Anne, sending lots of get well soon wishes & hopefully plenty of naps with small bursts of activity will prevent you from getting too bored or ratty 🤞
Moorviews, what lovely cheerleading & so supportive 😊 Please don’t stress yourself about your To Do list 🙏 Wishing you a very happy Christmas & I hope Santa is kind 😊 I am blushing at your lovely compliment “MrsSD ……… yourself as the shining star 🌟 of cheerleading.” ☺️
Muddy_Walker, hopefully you can now have a relaxing weekend before the big day 🤞As to dog2, I think bread & water rations are on the cards at least for today 😉
London_1, not silly at all to be excited by a Tip run 😊 It is so gratifying when so much clutter leaves the house for its final destination 🥳 one Gold Star ⭐️ on its way for DGS Ben - to be handed over once the Tip run has been completed 😉 Happy Christmas & enjoy yourself on the IoW 😊
Lovely post vulpix to go with the stunning photos 😊 Excellent decluttering 👏 & good luck with the baking/cooking 🍀
Lovely cheerleading Deni_debt-free_dreamer 😊 Great decluttering 👏
Still no sign of the pruning chap……… knock on the door, he has arrived 🥳

Hi all, well I have been up for hours trying to sort out the footy ticket. Still trying but I am running out of energy rapidly.
@London_1, not at all silly to be excited about a tip run. At the rate you are going you will be moving to the IOW with just hand luggage
@Vulpix those pictures are beautiful. I understand what you are saying about your daughter being ambitious and it is such a shame the opportunities are not there for her. It would be a wrench to leave such a lovely place. I think that is the sad story of the highlands and islands, the young people have to leave to get work and maybe only return when older. I have a friend who moved from London to Arran when her children were young as she felt it was a better place to bring up her children, she had family connections to the island, but accepted they would have to leave the island for work when they were older and both left to go to university and so far have not returned except for a visit.
Rambling again sorry, off to make another cuppa, hugs to anybody who would like one
Take care everyone

The arborist was here for 75 minutes & the olive tree has been pruned to within an inch of its life (see pic below) 😱 We had two chaps - one pruning & one tidying with the truck parked by the back wall & a ladder leaning against it. Paid in full as I withdrew the cash a couple of weeks ago & managed to hang onto it 😉
In other news I have finally set up the new Thread for 2024 called
“2024 DECLUTTERING CAMPAIGN MrsSD”
Now that is done I am going to watch a couple of episodes of Waking The Dead whilst knitting, followed by sitting at the table & compiling a Good Intentions list for 2024 + 2024’s Mantras 🤞
I hope everyone is finding some time to visit the TLC Carriage for mince pies & mulled wine 😉
