Hi
leftatthe Happy solstice to you too.
We put the rug back down yesterday that we had cleaned in the summer, it has lived in the shed wrapped in plastic since it came back. This means an end to all the dirt and dust from the renovations. The rug is smaller than I remembered but moving a radiator and having a smaller hearth and more petite sofas has made the room seem bigger.
I have done a fair bit of cooking which I have enjoyed. The new kitchen makes cooking a pleasure again. I have had a very good stock take of food and I think we could manage January with only the addition of some fresh veg , milk and bread. I made maple Christmas spiced almonds. I have had to hide them from myself! I also made crumble mince pies just in case we have any visitors. Using up stocks is very pleasing. I have also used up a couple of mil's stash of cleaning products this week too.
DD2 has gone home, back to work until after Christmas and our family get together. All change in the spare room ready for DD1 and bf who will drive down from Aberdeen on Boxing day. They live in the Shetland Islands, She has just sent me a photo she has just taken from her office window, The sun has just risen.
We are still working, particularly Mr V. December. is his busiest time. We finish Christmas Eve with a carol concert in the cave. Bit by bit and hubby are coming to it.
I have to go now to post my Mum's Christmas cards to her old neighbours.

Beautiful pic!
I went into London yesterday to eat at a vegan restaurant in Shoreditch and then we went to Stratford to see Godzilla Minus One. It was so packed at Westfield with xmas shoppers. The food was delicious and the film was very good, very intelligent for a monster movie.
I am thoroughly exhausted again today as we went to Aldi on the way home as well and I did over 20,000 steps yesterday. I am about to have a bath and I have used up the last of some bubble bath and I'm about to use the last of a body lotion. I used up the end of a hair treatment conditioner yesterday too. I will take out the recycling to the shed after my bath.
I went into a charity shop in London yesterday and again managed to resist buying anything.2025 GOALS

The footspa has left the premises!!! And the person who picked it up sent me a nice message and wished me merry Christmas. Which was nice!!!
As for single socks, or those with holes. I bin them normally but only after they've been used for a bit of dusting in the tricky places. Hand into the sock and then you can just wipe your hand along and wiggle your fingers into the itsy hard to reach places.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe and Old Style Money Saving boards. 7. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Thursday was another day of knitting & watching The Waking Dead interspersed with writing a shopping list, sending DH to sm & squeezing everything into fridge, freezer or cupboards when DH got back 😉 Dinner was sausages, mash, baked beans & chopped tomatoes. Wudupa.

I am a very happy lady, my DGS Jack came this morning and decluttered 11 black bags full of junk from the cupboard in the lobby. Some stuff I haven't seen for years.Bless him he was accurate in his words
"Nanny if you've not seen it this long, bin it"
The cupboard is almost bare now. When I get my decorator back in January I will get him to white wash the walls inside (it is quite a large cupboard built into an alcove so has stone walls) My conservatory is almost full so when DGS Ben comes tomorrow morning once its loaded in the car it will all be off to the tip another car full .I was so pleased I took jack out to lunch at Dobbies as a treat and he really enjoyed it.He deserved it as he even hoovered the inside of the cupboard out of all the dust and cobwebs at the top. I have 8'6" high ceilings and only being 5'3" tall has a few disadvantages. I am so pleased at the result. We actually ran out of bags so the Glory Hole is left until after Christmas to empty, but it shouldn't take too long to do.
I then dropped him off home and picked up my library book I had ordered and also my three month prescription from Boots. I'm now all finished and tomorrow afternoon (tip run is the morning ) I'm off to DGD to see DGGDs for buffet and present exchanging, then away until New Year too-ing and fringe between my two Dads then off to the IoW after Christmas until the New Year so feel quite pleased at all the stuff that been binned and rehoused elsewhere
I'm putting my feet up now and going to have a nice cuppa
Cheers chums , and thanks everyone especially Mrs SD for all the encouragement
Happy Christmas Chums

Hi all, well I am sweary mcsweary today as I have tested positive for covid. All sorts of things have had to be sorted, visits cancelled etc and I am still trying to sort passing my match ticket to a friend through the clubs website that doesn't seem to want to play atm. I did have to go out to get more tests and paracetamol as OH has also tested positive but I wore a mask and gloves and whizzed in and out. I probably shouldn't have gone but after checking the guidelines which say stay at home if you can.....kids can go into school, people can go into work, madness and you don't even have to test, just treat it like a cold. No wonder it's rife again, rant over.
So far today the bedroom recycling bin emptied and the bathroom bin emptied. Not sure if anything else will be done as I am just not in the mood to do anything.
Hugs to everyone who would like one

Sorry about the covid Liverpool_Anne, my BIL has it as well. This new variant is apparently very good (at infecting!). Such a pain so close to Xmas.
I am going to declutter my old nail varnish and face mask as a pre-xmas treat to myself, I feel I deserve a bit of pamperingMarried 40y.o. mum of an autistic 11y.o. Carer/SAHM.

Had a bit of a sort out in the bathroom - it only took 5 minutes to do and looks so much better. Living room is coming along as is kitchen. OH suggested going food shopping so we can cover up the worktop again. Nooooooo! We still have some boxes of tins, packets and jars that are all in date and we will make a start on those when we have used up the last few ood things.Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅13
