2023 DECLUTTERING CAMPAIGN Mrs SD

Hi everyone 
I am new - I lurked a bit this last year, but next year I definitely need to declutter and save, so I am throwing my hat into the ring! 
I am a maximalist and a bit of a hoarder - in an "I won't throw this away just in case" kind of way, but I have reached the point that I have too much stuff in my one bed flat even for me... I have a number of chronic health conditions and the sheer amount of stuff that I have is just making it harder than needed to stay on top of the housework. 
I will have a think about my goals and come back in and add those over the next week and start fresh on 1 Jan.
Thank you for creating such a great thread - just reading through the posts has already been super inspiring!

Now I've cleared the mass, I'm planning on a weekly (or at least bi-weekly) scan and shred to keep on top of things

Brie - in 1976 I was living in Salt Lake City and Dr. Peale was coming to visit- just as we had a major power failure (lasted in almost a week in some parts of Utah. But everyone was so anxious to hear him speak they brought in a portable mic and everyone brought a flashlight. He gave his entire talk that evening by flashlight! It was wonderful.

Mom finally got to see him when she ended up in NYC - early 80s I think.

Cleaned the rubbish out the bedside table today (empty packets of tights and general gibble), and tidied up a cupboard. A box from a toy I was keeping for some reason and 2 packets of old medication binned. I haven't taken the pill since 2018, so I've no idea why I was holding onto these .

I'm in! 2022 was a bit of a write off year for me. Goals:
1. 2023 out in 2023
2. Sort my office at work 
3. Finally get rid of the table I need to send to auction
4. Do a cull of the children's toy etc drawers (intended before Christmas but lengthy illness prevented)

I'd like to join, with a general aim to reduce the amount of 'stuff' we have lying around. I had a good Marie Kondo clearout before we moved here 3.5 years ago, but there's still plenty of stuff in the house.

In 2022 we have had a lot of building work done, and we have only just got our furniture back out of storage. The house has a lot of miscellaneous junk the builders left - there's enough odd screws and nails to stock a hardware shop, plus I over ordered on some of the building materials I will have to try and shift on. Some of it is very big, 17 x 3.6 meter long cladding boards, for example. I did manage to shift a 22ft long carpet which we decided to replace rather than reuse, and somebody collected it the day it came off the removal wagon, so that was a large win. There's still some building work to be finished, but we won't have builders turning up at 7.30 every morning which is a bit of a relief after 10 months of it.

Some of our furniture needs replacing too.

This is such a fast moving thread I know I won't be able to fully keep up, but I plan to drop in to document my successes.
