Oooooo what perfect timing! I would like to join please!!!! I’ll have a proper think of what I want to accomplish exactly - I know that drawers and cupboards and dust bunnies and eventually the attic will be in there, plus decreasing a small debt but there are some major things I/hubby need to achieve and mental decluttering is just as important. .
I’ve had BIG year health wise as I was taken into hospital last Christmas for urgent major bowel surgery and subsequently diagnosed with a rare form of cancer. Incurable but treatable and I feel like my entire life has done a 180 so lots of adjustments have been made and what a mental strain that has been 🤣 sorry this is turning into a pity epic and I certainly dont want that as I’m usually quite a cheerful practical person!
anyway thank you for the new thread xxxxxxStay safe!Stay upright!And eat cake 🍰 😊 🏅⭐️ 💐21 -

Welcome all newbies , decluttering is definitely good for stress levels..
think she's currently got a show on Netflix. Re Marie kondo there’s a thread from a few years ago that might have the links to the basics. It was the kon Marie the life changing magic of tidying up.
ive been watching minimalist mom on u tube and she talks of her stuff as inventory and the more inventory you have to take care of and store the harder it is. So each category has a container and once that “container” is full then something needs to go before you buy new. A container can be anything a drawer a wardrobe a basket , I think this is a good way to decide how much of something you want to keep.
With clothes she advocates if you try something on and it is not a definite yes to keep, then it’s a No !I’m going to try this as I’m definitely a clothes keeper🤪My goal in January is to sort the garage, I had some jobs done this month and the wood etc has been dumped in there , plus a lot of other stuff can go.Focus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.13 -
Wow, we are on page 5 already 🤩 Lovely to see so many old friends & I am looking forward to learning more about our new friends 😉
The 2022 EDT will gradually slow down over the next two weeks - dropping people off & giving all our ‘staff’ the chance to have a few days off 😊 At the same time the cleaning & maintenance crew will jump aboard to freshen everything up, restock all the buffet trolleys & the dining car + we are extending the TLC Carriage & adding a couple more massage chairs 🙂 There is also a new carriage for 2023 - the Quiet Carriage - where you can read, rest & relax - no electronic devices allowed but there will be a butler to serve drinks both alcoholic & non alcoholic 😉
I will be back next week to welcome people aboard properly 😊
Mrs Salad Dodger, cheerleader in chief 😉

I will be joining you - only made it to 1318 of my 2022 target but that's a lot of things gone. RL has been challenging this year so hoping for calmer times in 2023. See you there on 1 January.2023 Decluttering Campaign 1270/2023 🏅🏅🏅🏅🏅⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I would also love to join if there’s room on the train! I tried to read along with this year’s thread but couldn’t keep up 😆
I’ve always got a charity shop bag on the go - we are two adults and two kids so there’s always something that is too small or no longer needed. This year though I need to tackle building and decorating jobs which are a hangover of house extensions from 2020, once those are done, I can clear out and properly organise the loft and garage (which are sadly filled with MIL’s belongings from when she unexpectedly passed away last year).I did enjoy reading the plan that @Brie outlined - a task and net result - so am going to take some time to come up with a similar list.Books read 2023 - 49/7513 -
I’m in!My main aim is to keep posting on the thread. I don’t know what happened last year, continued to declutter but didn’t post the amounts.Already have a stash of neutral items ready to go in Autumn 2023, packed away very nicely but will have a think and set targets on Jan 1stDecluttering challenge🏅⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️13

My decluttering list for 2023:1. Sort out my dining room come sewing room to make it a good place to sit and sew. I need to do a fabric audit and find patterns from my existing stash.2. Finish the knitting projects I have to use up the wool in my stash.3. Go through my huge hoard of cleaning supplies, write a list of what I have and post it in my cleaning cupboard, saving me time and money.4. Sort out the summer house which has become a dumping ground for stuff I don't want in the house. I like to eat my lunch out there as soon as the weather gets reasonable.5. I have lots of stuff in the loft I need to pass onto the brother of my ex-husband who died suddenly in April. There's videos from our life together I need to get put on a USB for our son to see.Apart from this I shall continue to get rid of things that are no longer functional. I'm not particularly sentimental about things so I hope this helps.14

Please could I join again for 2023? My goal is to declutter 2023 items.
I have been quietly decluttering in the background this year, and still need to get rid of another 118 things to achieve my goal of 2022 items this year. Unfortunately various items have snuck in as well, so our house is still rather cluttered!
