Hello all, also a newbie as well.
Been following the 2022 thread for a bit and been inspired.
House is tidy but there are several drawers of doom and a few cupboards of chaos lurking about and know I would feel better if it was sorted.
Not sure how I wish to count at the mo and also need to give some thought to the goals as well.
Will post back later, thank you for having me 😊.16 -
I’d like to join in. We moved two years ago and did a major declutter before we moved but there is still a lot of stuff that needs going through. I think I will initially go for 23 items a month or 276 items in the year. I also need to stop buying things especially for crafting until I use up what I have. I retired last year so I have plenty of time but I also think I was more focused when I had to fit it in elsewhere.17

As said on the 2022 thread, my word for the year is SIMPLIFY so I think I'll be here a lot. Initial plan is for 365 items to leave the house, but I want to keep track of what comes in too. Might be asking too much of myself but we'll see.
Look forward to getting cracking in a couple of weeks.

Preparing to hit the ground running come the new year.
Ex is exploring options to buy me out of the house. I’ve told him he has till mid January to get his ducks in a row, and if it’s not possible then the house will need to get on the market asap.
My friend lives nearby, and she’s offered to split the cost of a larger skip if she can get rid of some thing stop, which will be useful.I can already think of clothes, knick-knacks, and lots and lots of craft supplies that I won’t want to have to move and store.‘When you only have two pennies left in the world, spend one on bread and the other on flowers. We were supposed to take these to SIL to use up on xmas day but forgot. They've been in the cupboard for 2 years, hate the thought of storing them for another year. Binned.

We don't really celebrate new year like that. It will be bf in the front room on his pc, and me in my Zoo room chatting to my friend online while we do an online jigsaw together. It's a wild life I lead.Brie said:or pass anything on to a ukrainian group who will be celebrating their Christmas on 6th Jan rather than 25th Dec????

Thank you for my seat on the 2023 EDT @Mrs_Salad_Dodger.
My target for 2023 is to declutter "1 thing per day" over & above my 2022 clutter management routines. So 365 for 2023.
These "things" can be small or large; physical, mental or digital - anything as long as it contributes to improving my physical environment eg replacing mouldy silicone sealant with fresh sparkly new sealant and personal well-being eg decluttering screen-time and replacing it with reading a book.
I will be concentrating on productivity and self-care / leisure.
I hope this makes sense - looking forward to documenting my progress17 -
Back from my Xmas visiting and apart from a few ornaments I've no decorations to clear at home. It's a bit un festive but saves work. No fridge full of leftovers either, a kind person made me a leftovers picnic to bring home but I ate that over the last 2 days. I met up with an old friend last week and while I've been running on the spot getting nowhere she's got a whole new life. We became single at the same time years ago, I still am but she's happily married, new home, step grandchild, it's lovely. If I'm honest though spending time with family and friends has given me the glums now I'm back here on my own. So the final decluttering push (while I'm still employed!) will keep me from getting too glum I hope. I can put off moving house again until my work contract runs out so I don't have to worry about it this year. Just need to keep on with chipping away at the stuff.
