Happy Thanksgiving to the people from the US on here.
I had a drama the other night as my husband started shaking and his hands went numb and cold. I gave him an aspirin and called 999. His ECG was fine and they didn't think it was a stroke. They thought it was a reaction to his new medication! He has stopped taking it and I took that medication and the other unwanted ones to the chemist yesterday evening. He seems absolutely fine now.
We are getting quotes for our flooring tomorrow (for replacement flooring after the water leaks we had) so I am hoping we will be finished with all the work by Christmas.
I want to book the new flooring for the kitchen and then I really need to organise the kitchen properly and get everything into one room. I am thinking that after I do I can (possibly) get rid of three items of furniture.2025 GOALS

And I've somewhat declutter a large portion of the saving in the interest of having a new kitchen installed in January.
We weren't going to replace our dishwasher (nowt the matter with it) but it's white and we agreed that an integrated one would be nicer. I had wanted a freestanding fridge/freezer but we realised we'd get it all much cheaper having an integrated one in a extra tall larder cupboard. Big surprise was that while the original quote 2 weeks back was a bit heart stopping by getting all the bells and whistles in one place we were able to take advantage of layers of discounts - 20% off appliances and then another 20% off the whole thing.
AND the big big bonus of not having a working oven until January is we're free to NOT have a turkey next month!! Unless I fancy doing it on the big weber propane bbq!!!I Believe.....

Oops forgot to finish Wednesday & completely forgot to post yesterday 🙊 On Wednesday DH had a bath & got dressed but then decided not to go out 😉So dinner was ordered in - burger & chips 😋Wudupa.
Thursday was dry bright day - really should have done some washing 😉 I did eventually finish knitting the matching scarf - kept having to unpick as I made frequent mistakes in the 12 row pattern 😔 Wrote a shopping list for DH but he decided not to go out as he was feeling very lethargic 😅 Dinner was ham, egg, chips & beans for DSis; bratwurst, egg, chips & beans for DH; egg & beans for me as I had eaten a bowl of heated through lo pasta for lunch 😉. Finished watching Bloodlands & started knitting a new scarf in an easy pattern 🙂 Wudupa. The recycling wheelie bin was emptied on the correct day 🥳

Excellent decluttering bit_by_bit 👏 Good luck with the sale items 🍀 I have several copies of Lord of the Rings ranging from an extremely tatty paperback to a gorgeous special issue hardback with beautiful coloured drawings 😊
Liverpool_Anne, doesn’t sound like a very restful break 😔 However well done on all that you have accomplished especially moving along the ACAS case 👏 Not too sure I would have held my tongue with BiL 😉 I am pleased that you managed sone time for yourself & it sounds like a lovely meet up with your friends 😊 You burst of activity means that you have managed to earn a Gold Star ⭐️ for passing three quarters of the way to your target 👏 Also well done on completing the lap blanket for ln 👏
I have just finished a cup of cocoa so am heading back to bed 😉

The doctor he talked to at the hospital told him to keep taking the medication! That was why I contacted his GP as I thought that was terrible advice.2025 GOALS

I have had one quote for the new flooring this morning and we have someone coming over at midday to give us another one. We are going to go with a darker wood colour. The one that was ripped up was light grey, but I think darker would suit the house more.
We had to call up the kennel and rearrange the days my dog will be in there as it is easier for her to not get underfoot and the work will take several days. We were supposed to be going away for a weekend, but that was cancelled so we just moved the days around.
I went out to eat last night at a vegan BBQ place near me and I was talking to the owner and he said the Supervet (Noel Fitzpatrick) had been in there the night before. I had to google him, but my husband knew who he was.
I have to go out and get cash out and buy some milk for the workmen next week.

I had another 90 minutes in bed but am now up & dressed. DSis has just put a load in the wm. I have a mug of tea & the timer is on for a concerted effort to catch up with the cheerleading 🤞 Pic of scarf in dusky pink to go with the hat
Siebrie, the wire saw looks a bit like a garrotte 😧 Fingers crossed that the appointment with the doctor goes well & that you don’t need an operation 🤞Hm pizza sounds delicious 😋 & even more so when someone else makes it 😃
No need to sneak back in Fizz2015 😊 Sorry to hear that work life is so hard 😔 but I am pleased to hear that you have meetings arranged to resolve the situation 🙂 Excellent decluttering of your medical supplies 👏 Well done on getting OH to arrange (& hopefully pay for 😉) the house repairs 👏
Great idea short_bird 👏
Brie, I had to smile ruefully at the idea of keeping lengths of white wire for some unspecified future use 🤔😉 Great decluttering 👏 & very MSE to get an 0% interest finance deal on your new kitchen but still have the cost set aside 👏
bit_by_bit, excellent decluttering 👏 I noticed from your signature that you exceeded your target of ‘Making £2023’ & whilst not technically decluttering 😉 I am awarding you a medal 🥇 in acknowledgment of your success 😊 Good luck with ‘Project De-Stack’ 🍀
Floss, I will join you in the ‘new kitchen envy’ club 😉
Brie, absolutely love the idea that “him what cooks” gets to choose the kitchen 😅 apart from the sink 😉 Not having an oven is a great excuse for being turkey free next month 😉 although I don’t need an excuse to NOT have turkey for Christmas dinner 🤣
Floss, I remember DH & I having goose one Christmas when we were younger & oh so naive 😂 especially as there was only the 2 of us 😱
Nice to see you weenancy 👋 Great work continuing to declutter books & games 👏 Sorry to hear that you have another potential medical issue to contend with 😔 Good luck to you & your family re all the medical appointments 🍀 Hope you enjoyed your quiet Thanksgiving 🙂 Sending lots of cwtches your way 🤗
Wednesday2000, how frightening 😟 I trust that DH is OK now & that the doctor is investigating 🙏 Fingers crossed that the quotes for new flooring are reasonable & that you can get the work done quickly 🤞
Chrystal, good luck 🍀
Thanks for the information Floss 👏 I have learnt something new.
Thank goodness for a sensible GP Wednesday2000 👏 Sounds like the hospital doctor needs some more training 😞 Sounds like you are getting ready for the new flooring already 😀
All caught up with 3 x 23 minute sessions 🙂
The sun is out & all is well 😊 Have a good day everyone 😊

I suddenly 'saw' a plastic Sortera 37l (ikea) next to my bed! I'd put it there to hold a spare set of bedding for all our beds, when my blanket chest was in the garage. The chest is back in the bedroom, and filled, I just hadn't remembered I had the ugly white plastic box next to our bed. So, the content is in the chest and I have a spare sturdy lidded box; what to do? I have asked dd2 if she wanted it for her barbies, which are outgrowing their current but nice container. She didn't want it because it is too clearly plastic. DD1 and husband can't think of anything either. It's now in our living room, waiting until we (let's be fair: I) can repurpose it. I'm mentally going through our garage/storage/pantry (one space from the front to the back of the house) and trying which category would fit into it.... lightbulbs and/or exension cords, maybe.
