2023 DECLUTTERING CAMPAIGN Mrs SD

Hi all, I thought I'd just check in. I was chased down the motorway by storm Debi but arrived at my dsis's ok only getting lost once going around Bath
. I have not caught up with all the posts yet but I aim to in the next couple of days. I have been quite busy in fits and starts here. The weather has been kind on a couple of days so I have cleaned the pond and nearly emptied my dsis's wash basket by adding a few bits of mine. The dog is a little sweetie but is quite demanding of attention. He was quite stressed for the first day especially as we had all been up since 3.30 am and I didn't get any sleep until 2am the next morning. I think we were both exhausted by then
. My bil was hinting for me to cut the grass but the lawn is enormous and it's not been dry enough for long enough to do it so far but I might get a chance before I leave. I have managed to meet up with some friends for lunch which was lovely. I have also been crocheting and have finished the lap blanket for my ln. I have also sorted some of my emails and have moved the ACAS case along a couple of times. I won't list everything as I have kept notes and am adding 42
. More than I thought it would be but still a lot to catch up on when I get home if I am to meet my target
.
Hugs to everyone who would like one

I had yesterday afternoon off and it was lovely weather, so I pruned the right half of the red gooseberry bush. I first took off all the small branches with the nasty thorns, and now need to use my new wire saw (commando saw? Translate is not clear) to get rid of all the thick branches in the middle to create a goblet shape, for easier picking next summer.I sent of 2 emails that needed being sent. I made a follow-up appointment with the GP for treatment of my heel spur (calcification underneath the heel bone, inside the foot).DD1 (15) made pizza from scratch yesterday and it was lovely! It led to me throwing out 5 sachets of yeast I had inherited from my Father, not realising it had a bbd of November 2022. Hello All, sneaking back in, work life draining me at the moment. I have communicated upwards the pressures I'm experiencing and got a couple meetings next week. Otherwise will be checking my JD carefully and chatting with the union.
Today despite feeling drained and in cba mood, I have collected my prescription, phoned Dr's and now need to collect different prescription. Sorted out the medical cupboard and binned about 40% of it, expired or been open too long. Now organised in some containers which were cluttering up the worktop. Plus put a wash out on line, 2nd wash on and found local companies to obtain quotes for house repairs. Have delegated to OH to arrange them all.

Binned a lot of dusty dirty lengths of white wire - you know the sort of stuff that some person (I shan't name him) might have saved having cut it off a lamp. Also some various calipers, pliers and other odd items all rusted solid after being left exposed to wind and rain for too long. Lots of the leaves from the neighbour's beautiful sweet gum tree have been added to the bin in readiness for the bin collectors tomorrow and so as not to distract the gardeners (also tomorrow) from the 2 main jobs of cutting the lawn and planting the rest of the spring bulbs. I'll let them prune and sweep after they get those done - not sure if they are here for 60 or 90 minutes. Must remember to get up early and declutter the cars from the drive as well as they'll be here at 10:30 (and are always early!!) so they can work more efficiently.
And I've somewhat declutter a large portion of the saving in the interest of having a new kitchen installed in January. Very MSE I've arranged to pay on a 0% interest for 4 years while leaving the actual cash available in a 6% savings account but mentally I've put the money to one side so that I don't act like someone else here who thinks that by getting credit I've actually doubled our money.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. A quick pop in to report the box of books and bag of sales of books and games have now gone. (counting as two bags.
Last night I revisited under DS1s bed. I had gone through all the boxes and pulled out sale items then just put the boxes back. I have now emptied three boxes and one remains for sales. The rest are bagged to go to the charity shelf/table/shop/ I have 4 bags in theboot now.
Also started working on the other side of the bed as stacked upand can't get into the wardrobe. I am doing a bit each day and hope to have it all cleared by the end of the month.Wife, mother, gardener, nurse, Big C survivor. We weren't going to replace our dishwasher (nowt the matter with it) but it's white and we agreed that an integrated one would be nicer. I had wanted a freestanding fridge/freezer but we realised we'd get it all much cheaper having an integrated one in a extra tall larder cupboard. Big surprise was that while the original quote 2 weeks back was a bit heart stopping by getting all the bells and whistles in one place we were able to take advantage of layers of discounts - 20% off appliances and then another 20% off the whole thing.
AND the big big bonus of not having a working oven until January is we're free to NOT have a turkey next month!! Unless I fancy doing it on the big weber propane bbq!!!I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. Hi, haven't been decluttering anything but books and games lately it seems. Went to the cardiologist yesterday. I am going to be taking the tests for HCM (Hydrotropic Cardiomyopathy) as I have all of the symptoms - including the rapid weight gain.
Our schedule for the family next month is almost entirely doctor's visits for everybody - and trying to get as much out of the house as I possibly can. Topped off by Christmas.
We are having a quiet Thanksgiving here as it is just three of us - the other three are either eating separately or doing his food delivery job.
Have a good day everyone.14
