I had a restful and fairly uneventful weekend after the bathroom delivery stress. I'm trying not to notice the many bathroom items strewn around the house.
It was my day off today and crossed a lot of items off my "to do list" which was very satisfying. Got my haircut and feel so much better for it.
Refund for Fit-flop boots has come through already. I have replaced them with a Skechers pair from TK Maxx at a third of the price and equally comfy!
Tasks
Returned item to M&S
Got haircut
Posted Amazon return

Accepted quote for radiators and booked installation

Thank you for the warm welcome back. Sadly there are a lot of us in the TLC carriage at the moment, gentle hugs to everyone. Thank goodness for the never ending supply of tea/coffee and cakes, courtesy of MrsSD ☕🍰
I stepped out on Saturday but then had to go back in with a nose bleed that took ages to stop. However I found 3 xmas t.shirts, a felt xmas jester type hat ( red and white with bells on it ) which are no longer needed, plus a PS2 "Buzz" game with controllers and now everything is in the cs bag.
Look after yourselves everyone

Oooooh Gold ⭐️ i don't mind if I do. Thankyou @Mrs_Salad_Dodger
Love the bedroom you made use of.
Thankyou @vulpix for your kind wordsCool hats
What you said about seeing things as a saleable item at the CS @retiredinfrance . My new manager charges way too much for me make any money on purchases so I am actually saving on that front right now.
Another box of books sent to an online buying site. 3 bags of books, cds and DVDs ready to go to Pudsy tomorrow as our local supermarket continues to raise money for Children in Need this month. I met the person who organises the charity stuff today and he says they raised over £4000 last year.
Managed to get to the allotment and put some stuff on some online selling sites today.

I never did quite make it back. I finished knitting another hat see pic (dusky pink) & have decided to knit a matching scarf.
Spent the rest of the afternoon snoozing & watching a series called Dublin Murders (in between naps) 😉 We had a lovely surprise - a package was left propped up against the front door - no one knocked 😞 A package from DH’s niece S (addressed to The Fabulous *******) which was enough to bring a smile to our faces 😁 Even bigger grins when we opened the package 😆
Made a Bolognaise sauce from scratch & cooked conchiglie as the pasta 😋 Wudupa.
2340 - 2341 Kitchen recycling, drinks cans - recycled
2342 Kitchen detritus binned
Lovely to see you retiredinfrance 👋 Excellent decluttering - nearly 1,100 items out 🥳 Well done on setting out your stall for the 2024 Decluttering Campaign 👏 So sorry to hear about DH breaking his foot 😔 Hopefully now that you are settling into a routine, it will get at least a little easier 🤞 Sending healing vibes that DH gets an early Christmas present - boot off & no lingering effects 🙂 An International Conference - such a lovely idea 🥹 All that is needed is for one of us to win big on a lottery 😅
Deni_debt-free_dreamer, sorry to hear that RL has been so busy & stressful 😔 Sending healing vibes that DD1 recovers well after her operation & that you can relax a little now that she is home safe & well 🙂 Perhaps a call to the Premi Inn might be in order - to reclaim your hot water bottle 😉
weenancy, I have a lovely picture now of you up in a tree (hiding from your family) 😉 Hopefully the visits to the doctors will provide a positive resolution to the current lack of extensive walking ability 🤞
Good decluttering oceanspirit 👏
Will head off to bed now but I really do need to sort my sleep pattern out 😉

Tuesday is another dark, overcast day but I was up an hour earlier 🙂 I have written a shopping list for DH & sorted out birthday cards for posting - all stamped & ready to go. First cuppa now made & timer on ready for a burst of cheerleading as I am only a day behind😉
Excellent decluttering GrannyKate 👏 although a shame that ‘money’ has been your biggest declutter 😔 I see that you are still keeping DS2 busy 😉 Lovely photo 😊
vulpix, we have the radiator off in our bedroom 😉 just relying on the residual heat from the office, bathroom & room of doom radiators 🙂Hopefully the flooring people turned up not long after you posted yesterday 🤞& the great ‘repopulate the downstairs rooms’ is also done 🤞I think that apart from sheer laziness, the disruption to everyday living is the main reason we still haven’t had our bathroom done 😔😉 Great decluttering & rearrangement of kitchen cupboards 👏 & well done on wrapping your Christmas gifts 🙂
QueenJess, oh well I will cancel my intended visit then 😉
Siebrie, how very droll of your Mum 😅 “She did it wrong; it's the kids that should be knackered!” right up there with my DH’s comment of “Work smarter not harder & longer” whenever I stayed late at work 😂
vulpix, pleased to hear that the flooring people did arrive eventually 🙂 I know that it probably wasn’t quite so funny for you but your description of Fluffy’s antics had me clutching my sides with laughter 😂 I am still giggling now 🤭 The baby hats are beautiful 😻 Your knitting is so neat 👏Are you absolutely positive that you didn’t buy them 😉🤣 I really am only joking 🙃
Crazycatlady2 sorry to hear that your youngest decided that sharing his germs was the right thing to do 😔 Hopefully lots more rest & more kit kats will help in the recovery process 🤞🙂
Brie, another advantage of window coverings is that they do hide the need to clean the windows 🤣 but that might just be me 🤭 Although I must admit to being a tad jealous of your velux windows upstairs 🙊 What a relaxing way to fall asleep & an even better way to wake up ☺️
EnergyShifter, pleased to hear that you had a quiet weekend 🙂 Perhaps before & after photos of the areas currently filled with bathroom items will help you to relieve any further stress as the renovations gradually take place 🤨 Excellent work dealing with so many tasks from your To Do list 👏 & very MSE re the Fit-flop boots 🥳 The nice thing about the bed was that it was actually quite comfortable 🙂
nannywindow, I think the TLC Carriage has definitely come into its own this year 😊 & so wonderful that many of our fellow declutterati drop off various cakes & biscuits throughout the year 🍰 🍪 I hope you managed to find the bar 🍸 🍹 when a cup of coffee or tea just will not do 😉Please, please contact the doctor (or at least NHS 111) about the nose bleed 🙏 especially as it took a long time to stop 🙏 Great work gathering more items for the CS 👏
bit_by_bit, good luck with the selling 🍀 I must say that it is very ‘kind’ of your new manager to make items too expensive 😅 What a great idea for your local sm to have a month of raising funds for CIN rather than just a day 😊 Hopefully they can match last year’s wonderful fund raising🤞
Excellent decluttering short_bird 👏
All caught up 🙂 I have another hot drink & will do a bit more knitting whilst watching an episode of Dublin Murders, then will knuckle down to doing at least a couple of tasks from my rather long To Do list 😉
Wishing everyone a good Tuesday whatever you are doing 😊

Good morning. Up with the lark, involuntarily. Mr V up early so we are all up early. My preference is to be a night owl.
What a nice surprise parcel Mrs SD. I love rainbow drops. You are lucky to have such nice family.
The downstairs floor is done. I love it and what a difference in warmth to just a concrete floor. Upstairs carpet will happen on Monday and Tuesday. And just like that the house will be finished. 2 1/2 years of upheaval and renovation finally over. I will obviously now start looking for the next house to do it all again! I might get this house valued though. Even though we bought it 10 years ago we have spent a lot on it so I imagine we will break even at the moment. When I say we,read it as me!
Today I will wash the new floor and put all the furniture back in the right place. I have also got to soak the bedding from where Fluffy did a lap of honour round the wet concrete in the kitchen and then ran across the unmade bed. She is just about speaking to me again after her ordeal. Some cat biscuits are embedded like fossils in the concrete for future generations to puzzle over.
I am keen to find about 60 more items to declutter before the new year to give me an average of 4 items per day ousted. I never expected to do so well this year. When I started decluttering about 12 years ago I started with the easy and larger stuff. Getting down to the small and sentimental stuff is harder. There is very little I would want to save if the house was on fire. On thinking about it,it is all replaceable, People matter most to me,
Have a good day folks. Vx

I haven't decluttered anything in the last week - we've only eaten some items from the freezer that really needed eating - but I did decide where to declutter or move stuff around next.This weekend I'm going to my Mum's to help sort out her admin. Upstairs neighbour's leakage has been fixed, but their insurance is only paying for neighbour's actual damage, not the consequences to Mum's house, so we need to get Mum's insurance company's lawyer involved. The insurance company is checking whether Mum has any other insurance policies and we just don't know.Are you wombling, too, in '22? € 58,96 = £ 52.09Wombling in Restrictive Times (2021) € 2.138,82 = £ 1,813.15Wombabeluba 2020! € 453,22 = £ 403.842019's wi-wa-wombles € 2.244,20 = £ 1,909.46Wombling to wealth 2018 € 972,97 = £ 879.54Still a womble 2017 #25 € 7.116,68 = £ 6,309.50Wombling Free 2016 #2 € 3.484,31 = £ 3,104.5914

Wednesday I was out of bed early - before 09:00 but not dressed until 11:30 😉 Watching a new series London Kills & enjoying seeing various places around London - a few of which I recognise 🙂 & it is always a pleasure to spot a local bus 😉 The scarf is coming along slowly but surely. The only item crossed off my To Do list is phoning bank to check accounts & order a new cheque book + update paper records. I write a lot of cheques 😉 old fashioned I know 😂 Regardless of the red sky this morning it has remained dry all day 🙂
2343 - 2344 Uu pen & plastic packaging - binned
2345 Cardboard packaging recycled
vulpix, I must admit that having had such a wonderful evening out on Saturday, the surprise parcel was like a cherry on top 😊 Congratulations on getting the downstairs flooring done 🥳 & the joy of having upstairs carpets by the middle of next week 😊 I am really hoping you were joking about moving 🤞Surely you will spend a year in your newly renovated home 😉 After all you need at least some time to admire & appreciate all the hard work 🙏 Your comment “Some cat biscuits are embedded like fossils in the concrete for future generations to puzzle over.” had me rolling around on the floor with laughter 😂 Good luck finding the extra 60 items to declutter 🍀
Siebrie, well done on planning your next decluttering session 👏 Good luck helping your Mum with her admin 🍀 Hopefully the insurance company lawyers will get recompense for your Mum 🤞
DH is off out tonight meeting up with ex colleagues- so I am hoping he doesn’t get too drunk 🤞 That just leaves me to decide what I can be bothered cooking tonight for DSis & me 😔
Hope everyone has had a good day 😊

Congrats on the floor @vulpix.
LoL re cat antics.
2 bags of books/dvds/cds and a few packs of cards to the charity table at the supermarket today. Got tow boxes to pack for online selling sites to go tomorrow plus a bag of sales to post. One of them is a 2 kg book The Lord Of the Rings. I loved this books insce my first of many readings of it but this copy was just an opportunistic purchase. I couldn't possibly read it as the book would have to have its own stand.
