Charlie’s tribe - gentle dog cwtches xxxxx
I had a rest day today as I have a very busy week ahead. And for once I didn’t feel guilty! Hubby is just as fed up as I am being ill- this is the third week now. He did manage some washing and the dishes and made some cheese toasties for dinner which were yum.
I have been doing just about everything else - we’ve had quite a difficult year this year and it’s been telling on both of us! I don’t like October in general as mostly bad/dreadful things have happened so head down and onwards.
have a good week everyone xx⭐️⭐️⭐️🥇🥇🥇 2024 decluttering

Hi all, the days have flown by again and although I have been busy not much has left the house. On Thursday I had a funeral in the morning and a match in the evening. On Friday I tackled the box from the rod which I was hoping was paperwork but proved to be only on the top. It was much more difficult than I thought it would be. It was full of cards, gifts and notes from when I retired. I did a quick pass through the cards and at least recycled the envelopes but I need to harden myself to go through the cards again. Then the gifts were sorted and some have been put away, 8 bottles of wine into the cupboard, a candle and some melts+ burner put where they will be used, smellies added to stash that I am slowly working through. 2 pairs of earings that have been put away, 4 items into the cs bag including a blow up zimmer frame that I thought was hilarious and 2 items that I am a bit flummoxed by. A mug that I think will have to be binned as it has something very rude on it and I really don't think the cs would appreciate it and I know I will never use it, and a framed certificate thing thanking me for my years of work which is very nice in a nice frame but I don't think I will ever put it on the wall. I will keep it and see if I want the frame and maybe put the certificate in a file or something with some of the cards. It was a very big box
.
On Saturday I went and did my abseil. It was brilliant. I was roasting as they said you should wear a jacket but it really was too warm for one. The view over the city and the river was amazing but we were not allowed to take our phones with us so can't share any photos, sorry. They did take photos for us which you could then buy, which I did but they all have me in them. There were 5 of us in our group and I was the only woman and at 68 the oldest by at least 20 years but they were all very nice and chatty while we waited. 1 man was from Kazakhstan and was visiting his friend who he had met at a football match. He was quite nervous about the whole thing. The other 2 were a father and son who had left a brother at the bottom as he had changed his mind on arrival after watching the previous group go down. The father was also nervous as he said he didn't like heights
but they all did ok. The staff asked me several times if I was nervous but I can honestly say I wasn't. You know unless you do something very silly it is safe and once you are over the edge it is quite easy. I would say anyone who is reasonably fit and not scared of heights could do it. They build it up as a big adrenaline thing but the hardest thing for me was working out how to download the photos onto my phone, I had to download a qr scanner to get them and work out how to use it
. Today has been another football match
so not much decluttering done at all really. I have bags of things sorted to go to various places but I haven't got them there yet
, hopefully this week they will go which should give my numbers a boost
I have done 4 loads of washing but only 1 was dry as it has been cloudy here most of the day though quite warm so they will be finished off tomorrow.
@Vulpix I really love those slippers, where did you get the pattern?
Off for my flu jab tomorrow so hugs to anybody who would like one

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks to include MMiM - do this before I go to bed
2. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ I have an acronym - I.R.I.S. being Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off
3. Implement a new sleep/wake up regime - start going to bed earlier (target before 2:00 a.m.) get up earlier (target by 9:00 a.m.)
4. Deal with ‘Urgent’ daily mail immediately & the rest at the weekend
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. If I spot a mini task deal with it immediately e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
7. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
DH has mowed the front lawn (ours & ndn) - hopefully it’s last cut of the year 🤞+ he has trimmed both hedges (again ours & ndn) - he hoovered up the clippings 👏 We have eaten the last of the hm soup for lunch - it got better 😋 Tried on the bras - kept one & put 2 in the rag bag for CS. Sorted out my sock/stockings drawer & 2 pairs of each have been consigned to the rag bag. The brisket in a barbecue sauce was delicious accompanied by mash & broccoli 😋 There is enough left to have the same again on Monday night 🙂 Wudupa.

2Scratters, a lovely idea for Moorviews 😊 What an excellent decluttering & tidying session in your loft 👏 Hopefully you found the paperwork you were originally looking for 🤞Great news that your DS is now set up with budgeting & savings accounts 🥳 Hopefully he is now well on the way to being financially savvy 😊 One less worry for you & the start of you ‘letting go’ 😊 You should be very proud of yourself & DS 🥹
dND, well done on resisting temptation in BnM 👏
Nice to see you Marpau 👋 Sounds like maintenance mode is going well 😊 Something for all of us to aspire to 😉 A quick g00gle seems to indicate that expired Covid tests can just be put in general waste 🤨
Wednesday2000, yippee to not having a reaction to your flu jab 🥳 Hope the wardrobe decluttering went well 🤞

Morning all
Nothing decluttered yet todayit's definitely getting more challenging, will have a fresh sweep through of the kitchen later when I wash the cupboard shelves. I've been doing this a full month, and I've definitely noticed improvement in my mental peace with less stuff around!

All old paper and cardboard has left the building
; today is monthly old paper and glass pick-up.
Our chuch had its annual spaghetti fest. I did dishes from 17-22 on Friday, then from 12-20 on Saturday. DD1 and 2 friends did the waitressing; there were also a few others, so we were slightly overstaffed, but I didn't care, because I enjoyed dd1 bringing her friends.I was on a roll, and baked lemon cupcakes on Friday and Saturday, for the dessert options after the spaghetti.Sunday afternoon I went to Ghent, where my friend was ordained (? she's a protestant minister) as street minister. It was a joyful church service and at the reception I ran into a lot of people I knew.I cleaned the guinea pig cage, I cut up the rest of the buddleia, I did 2 loads of laundry, I picked the raspberries, I bought a gift for dd2's friend's birthday party. No decluttering, but I had a fun and filled weekend which bolstered my energy levels. Are you wombling, too, in '22? € 58,96 = £ 52.09Wombling in Restrictive Times (2021) € 2.138,82 = £ 1,813.15Wombabeluba 2020! € 453,22 = £ 403.842019's wi-wa-wombles € 2.244,20 = £ 1,909.46Wombling to wealth 2018 € 972,97 = £ 879.54Still a womble 2017 #25 € 7.116,68 = £ 6,309.50Wombling Free 2016 #2 € 3.484,31 = £ 3,104.5916 -
39/52 - cupboard under the sink cleared and cleaned. Only 1 item to the bin but it's now yuck free!
40/52 - DH has cleared the "space" behind the back door. This has been on the embarrassing list for a while. Lots of stuff binned or recycled.15 -
Finally took the trolley full to charity shop but they didn't want all the child size hangers so was going to bring home to put on Facebook but a lady behind me heard and asked for them 🎉
Getting new car tomorrow so have bought in all stuff from current one as hubby will take it for an inside and outside wash to save me a job.... now can I sell it before Friday when car insurance is due?
Got eldest son to cut grass and my back was twinging all weekend and he wasn't happy as it was fairly short but wet even after a few dry weather days but he hates cutting grass more than I do 🤣16 -
@Liverpool_Anne
well done on the abseil!!! I did these a number of times when I was dreadfully young (16ish?) and always thought it was the going over the edge bit that was difficult and after that it was like flying which was grand!! Then again at that age you know 100% that you will bounce without any problems no matter the drop so not much to be worried about, right!?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. Hi all, flu jab decluttered
. Feeling ok, just a bit of a temperature which is normally what happens. While I was out I did a small sm shop, no list so I will need to do another one but got some fruit and toilet roll which I knew we needed and refused to browse as that is when I end up getting justins
. I also took 2 bags of hard plastic to the tip. It was very busy, probably after the reasonable weather over the weekend and everyone sorting stuff plus they are now on winter hours so close at 4 pm.
Someone mentioned they were amazed what people will take for free, I am amazed what people take to the tip. A lady approached me to ask if I knew where to put wine glasses, she had 6 matching glasses in a box, looked brand new, I said I would take them to a cs. Oh that's a good idea she said as if she had never heard of them. I was going to go on to suggest free sites etc but I refrained as I probably would have gone into the whole rant about landfill erc.
Shopping all put away, 2 LDFPA finished from yezterday, 1 load still drying and another load washed and out to dry which as the sun is now out will probably be done before sunset. Having a cuppa and a cool down now, hopefully back later with more.
Hugs to everyone who would like one
