Thank you for your kind comments and understanding ❤
I've booked the day off as Annual Leave to give me a breathing space before I face work again. It's tipping down here so I'm content to stay indoors.
Ooops I lied. Spotted one last CP sat in a shopping bag on the kitchen floor. Cider now in the fridge, cardboard to be recycled - but I'll wait til it's less wet outside, and shopping bag now in other shopping bag, where it belongs.
Lots of ideas spinning in my head - I think a list / brain dump is required. A cunning plan is needed. Aka distraction technique. 😉
Take care my lovelies

IT ONLY TAKES SMALL DAILY ACTIONSFOR MAGIC TO HAPPENRosemary Ikpeme20 -
Morning all - had several cups of tea so I'd better get dressed.
85 Filing drawer cull - I only keep a few hard copies of things - Council Tax Bill is always good for ID purposes. (23 Min froglet of the day)
86 All shredding done including stuff from filing drawer above. Full bag to go out with Thursday recycling collection
Need to to go out for a couple of bits so will just go to MrC in village - note to self no cakes or chocolates even if YS - weight went up a pound not down this week.
Just editing to say I resisted the YS custard tarts at Mr C2025 Decluttering Campaign 697/2025 🏅🏅🏅🏅(🏅🏅) 🌟🌟

I have deleted all my emails.
I am getting the prince Harry autobiography book delivered today. I pre-ordered it a couple of months ago when I was (unusually) reading quite a few celeb autobiographies. My husband said he isn't interested in reading it and neither am now at this point so it may go straight into a donation bag!19 -
Well the ironing pile got a declutter yesterday after previously sorting what doesn't need ironing, what needs turning the right way round to be ironed and keep the iron switched on for minimal time. Got 2 piles to put away now!
Christmas has been put away in the loft including a bag of stray xmas bits too. I also moved 2 xmas cups from the cupboard into said bag. The real tree is now a stalk as it has been stripped to assist with keeping us warm. Just needs 4 cuts on its trunk and job is complete. Well worth the £1 costWhy do we have too much seasonal stuff?
Succeeded at emptying the back bedroom (soon to be kitchen) wardrobe of my separates, YayThere is still a side of long coats and dresses and "outdoor stuff" in the other half. As there was stuff going into the loft more has to come out - that's my rule - so items that are to be put onto ebat have come down and are now waiting.
DH re-did some wood logs that were too big for either fire and re stacked them.
This frog of sorting the store cupboard is still hanging about - goodness knows why.
Sorted lots of bits out, many small items, matched same with same, all in their correct places.A place where I can't spend too much time just now

Sorry about the long post above and not signed off. Didn't want to lose it. How is it you can remember certain buttons and the garments they were attached to. I intend to make use of some of the contents. A random salt pot!!
I really do procrastinate, I am impressed that the button tin was placed away with a small addition from my own tin. Unfortunately it did not release an empty vessel.
Stay dry

Phew, I have made it through the posts to here! Hugs to everyone in the TLC carriage. When I finally get to sorting out the baking cupboard, I will bring through a cake. It may be a while though…
Extra hugs to @roundtuit.
Decluttering has been sporadic, now that I am back to work, but I am ridiculously pleased that I am doing some decluttering, no matter how small.
Knitting needle / sewing box turfed out and reorganised. It was my Nan’s old cutlery box, so probably dates from the 1930’s. My mum repurposed it to a sewing box, and when she died I used half of it to store my knitting needles in, as well as all the needles that I had inherited from clearing my mum’s house. I had never felt able to clear the half out which was her sewing box, until Sunday. Odd bits of packets thrown out, buttons, thread and pins rehoused to be amalgamated with mine. Needles sorted out as a bonus.
Nail varnishes - 9 old ones binned. DD bought me 2 new ones for Christmas. The old me would have just slotted them in amongst the existing ones. Nope, I sorted through and out when 9 of questionable age.
1 jar of vile smelling garlic granules which DD bought home from uni as she hated the taste.
1 magazine decluttered to the bag for my DSis - we share my subscription, so she is always pleased to finally get them. She will be amzed that it is only from December!1 African violet plant - perfectly happy until last week. Now dead as a dodo. Ferrrrlinggg.
@2Scratters - love the button collection. I could lose myself for hours in there!17 -
I just want to put my hand in that button tin, pick up a handful and let them drop like grains of sand - I've always found things like that therapeutic and they look so pretty @2Scratters
Sorry to hear about your news @roundtuit - an AL day is a sensible thing.
I'm just going to make my way up to the TLC carriage and settle in for a bit as my dad's not very well and could be something minor, could be something serious, will have to wait and see. Have to take him for a CT next week to get some more info. Trying to not think about it too much but sometimes you can't help it. So a comfy armchair and some tea and biscuits will have to distract me for a bit.
Not a lot of decluttering happening but you're right @Mrs_Salad_Dodger - a tidy lounge meant it took me 10 minutes to dust and polish everything in the living room last night. Working my way up to dealing with the floors tomorrow I think. Need to wash and change the sheets on the bed today at the least.
Hugs to all those that need them and encouraging cheers to all of you for doing a great job and we're only 10 days into the new year!Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 201720 -
Small wins:- new calendar filled in for January. It's on the kitchen wall for the family to see. If there are conflicting events, or suddenly an event 'pops up' (because someone knew, but forgot to tell) that requires taxiing around: if it's not on the calendar, it's not happening.- agreed to organise the church's wine-and-cheese evening with 2 other church members (women my age - it serves as my social life
)
- 1 cardboard box from the former home office sorted out. It contained just 7 items, 4 of which I threw out, 3 I relocated to their proper places. The box is now in the kitchen, in the designated corner for the paper recycling. As soon as it is full, it gets shut and put in the garage, and a new box or paper bag will be put in its place. Having the paper recycling container in a place we visit frequently is a tremendous help.- 2 bags for life that were lying about were empties of the few items they contained, folded, and put in the sturdy bag in the garage where we keep folded bags for life and insulated bags. The string bag next to it contains cotton bags and fruit-and-veg bags.- played in the woods near our house with dd2 (11) for 2 hours. I didn't really want to, but I came back home really refreshed, full of energy, and properly rebonded with dd2.Are you wombling, too, in '22? € 58,96 = £ 52.09Wombling in Restrictive Times (2021) € 2.138,82 = £ 1,813.15Wombabeluba 2020! € 453,22 = £ 403.842019's wi-wa-wombles € 2.244,20 = £ 1,909.46Wombling to wealth 2018 € 972,97 = £ 879.54Still a womble 2017 #25 € 7.116,68 = £ 6,309.50Wombling Free 2016 #2 € 3.484,31 = £ 3,104.5917 -
I love how positive and caring this train is. To all that need it, extra hugs to you all.
Wet and windy here today and also after effects of some new meds have left me cotton wool headed today.
However I managed to do shopping list and declutter some food from the freezer and think about dinner's for the next few days so that's sorted out.
And did my 1st 🐸, booked a blood test that needed sorting out.
And loving the buttons, my Nan had the most enormous jar of them and I used to love tipping them out and making patterns with them, matching them up etc, is there such a thing as button envy 😂.
Take care all x
