@roundtuit very sorry to hear about Sweetie.
I can’t remember when I last posted. I’ve been reading along but had to have some quiet time in the TLC Carriage - there are too many sad anniversaries for me at this time of year, so I was a bit down.
-bring my stuff back from ridiculously expensive storage unit
- declutter & deep clean hall and kitchen so I can get my washing machine replaced (it died two years ago - I have a caravan-sized twin-tub but not plumbed in so have to carry bowls of water about, I also use the nearly-local launderette when I can combine it with shopping etc)
- this will also enable me to get the front door replaced 💨
- declutter garage and bring in the display cabinet top for my sideboard (if still useable - it’s only been there under a tarpaulin for six years)
- deep clean living room and rearrange furniture to accommodate ex-storage unit stuff and display unit
Never mind the clutter, so much needs deep cleaning because my eyes have been getting bad so I couldn’t see the dirt until I started wearing glasses around the house 😢
Some actual decluttering has happened:
Thursday
- 3 books returned to library (unread)
- new calendar and diary bought (half of already reduced price)
- old diary put in shopping list box for unused pages to be used
Friday
- front door wreath taken down, greenery into garden waste bin, frame into rubbish bin (not added to the collection of unpicked wreath frames this year!)
- Christmas greenery & wreath removed from parents’ grave, replaced with fresh evergreens and winter jasmine
- Christmas decorations (just a garland this year, Christmas Cactuses making a lovely show this year) & and returned to heap in Room of Doom
- Christmas mugs washed and put away, ordinary ones brought out- candle & tealight holders washed and put away
- poinsettia plant into garden waste bin (not kept this year “to see if it will grow on the kitchen window ledge”)
- Christmas table linen added to Laundry-in-Waiting
- cards down, checked against book, some people decluttered, new list written (time to turn the page in the book); cards bagged, labelled and in RoD
Weekend/today
- continuing to declutter Brexit/Lockdown/COVID/Christmas goodies food stores into useable meals
Apologies for the long post. Frogs to do tomorrow (just the nearest couple of them).“Tomorrow is another day for decluttering.”Decluttering 2023 🏅🏅🏅🏅⭐️⭐️

@dfw38. Oooh I got goose bumps reading your post. I know you have health concerns and wish you well with that, but I found it so motivating hearing your strength and determination for the coming year. GO YOU! So much of what you said resonated with me and I feel inspired and motivated by your post. Thank you. 😘

Well done everyone! Despite being back at work or having other responsibilities such as caring for elders or children, everyone seems to be going great guns. Nice to see there's such a range of different types of declutterers, there's a nice ebb and flow as you read through the posts, it's very motivating.
Today I have only managed paperwork decluttering, but have got to the end of the first box, yay! Only 5 more to go, boo!
Shredded 84 pieces
Recycled 17 pieces
Have already set the next box down by the shredder so I can get on with it tomorrow evening.Start where you are, use what you have, do what you can

134-147: items to rubbish (supermarket delivery day, I get rid of as much additional packaging as possible)
148-156: stuff sorted to recycling
Deferred decision 3 sorted resulting in a batch of laundry tonight and some vacuuming tomorrow.
