Put the kitchen timer on for half an hour to make me tidy drawers so clean laundry could go away. Time left so looked through my shoe collection housed in the divan drawers. Dithered about some silver shoes and put them back. Perhaps one day we will be able to go on a cruise.Emptying the sitting room so photographed an Edwardian mirror and some pigeon hole shelving. Added to FB for sale. Both results of my endeavours.Roundtuit I am sorry to hear about your little bird friend. Xx

Hi All
roundtuit sorry to hear about sweetie x
Am still working on the behaviours that contribute to my cluttery ways
34 - tatty boxer shorts to recycle textile bag
35 - dropped box of 20 books to NT shop (instead of leaving them in my car for a monthyay!)
36 - big bag of plastics to supermarket recycling that kerbside collection wont take -
37 - returned faulty item and got refund
On the sunk costs discussion the only way I can reconcile myself about this is by reminding myself if I had the cash I would donate to charities monthly. I cannot. So by donating goods, If they can raise money from them instead great!. My chosen charity email me quarterly to tell me how much they raised from my items. They also ask me if there is anything they might be able to eBay so I separate out new items or hardly used. Since I am not good at all the preparing for sales and following through it just delays my progress in getting rid of stuff if i try and do it myself. So for me its best left to them.
DFW38 - good for you to be channeling your nervous energy!
We've had x 2 two medical emergency in our house due to my DH health in the past two years.
We also have 3 elderly parents and one elderly friend who we are at the end of the phone for. One year in the rush of one emergency I fell over 2 filled charity bags I had left by the door (literally fell flat on my face at 4am). Every time we have a medical situation occur I ask myself why I didn't try harder to clear my stuff so when things like that happen I can just grab phone keys purse and go.
When I loose steam with decluttering this is on my list of why i want to decluter streamline and simplify.I have about 20 reasons but My top reason is to be kind to my future self18 -

roundtoit - Sorry to hear your sad news.
Today I have been to a pastoral course meeting - it was about grief - we spoke about losing pets as well as family members and friends.
Mr F has gone into town - visiting the bottle bank - he will tell me the number when he arrives home.
My decluttering will slow down as my SA Corps starts back up again.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Thank you @Mrs_Salad_Dodger. The flowers are not something I would normally buy, but dh hasn't got me any for years so I thought stuff it! I am going to continue the displacement decluttering tonight, see if something good can come from the nervous energy! The Dr told me it could be polyps, fibroid or something different when she requested the scan, dh told me it is because of scarring from having 3 dc.... my response was along the lines of "they don't come out brandishing f€£_/%g razors blades or cheese graters, I'll go with what the Dr tells me thank you very much as she has more knowledge out of the three of us on medical matters" didn't go down very well.... heard mutterings of "bloody hormones" as he walked away. Wait till menopause was my answer to that 🤣 thank you @nannywindow, for me it is the not knowing, once I know then I can deal with anything. Will admit to having a sob in the car in sainsbobs car park afterwards and then gave myself a blooming good talking to. I decided last month, after my disaster of a festive birthday that this year is mine. I have lost my sparkle and lost my way if you know what I mean. Years of putting everyone else first (naturally my 3 young dc will still be number 1 priority) has resulted in me being unhappy, frumpy, overweight, burnt out, short tempered and downtrodden. I vowed on my birthday that I would never have 1 day like it again. So after 7 weeks of not being able to run dur to flu like illness I started running again on Sunday, was it easy? Nope, it sucked. But I will complete the virtual marathon on 23rd April if I have to crawl it. I am going to have a total image do-over. I have been gradually clearing my clothes and will replace them with things that suit me and my life now, a new hairstyle will follow. I am going to decorate the house and do the garden how I want. We were in the process of emigrating but are now not so our house is a long term one and I am fed up of making do with bits I don't like. I am clearing the clutter because I am fed up of it.
Gosh that was a long post, apologies.
TLDR: Stuff it, I am doing it all my way and enjoying the last year of my 30s and anything/anyone thinks they can stop me is going to regret it 😉2024 decluttering Campaign

A very different start to the week compared with last week. All my clients showed up! I had better energy levels which was good because on top of work I had someone come unblock the outside drain and the British Gas engineer come and fixt the radiators. Both were really nice guys, efficient and plumber not too expensive - radiators covered by insurance. It feels good to have got those things out of the way - I am the Queen of Procrastination normally around household maintenance so it's nice to have just got it sorted! Made some more headway with accounts - I'm finding this "little and often" approach very helpful to avoid overwhelm!
