Evening all. Been a busy cleaning day. Ours and both boys beds stripped washed and remade. Swept/hoovered through... not much has left by me the house except dust, dog fur and cobwebs. Had GD for an hour this afternoon and then finished up leftovers from this week for tea and made a puff pastry roll with todays date on into cheese straws and the DC have demolished them already.
I did get out of the shower to DD2 and 3 tidying their room! I've been asking them for weeks so no idea why they had just decided to do it. There's 2 binliners of rubbish DH can filter into the correct bins and a mountain of washing in the bathroom.
Normality resumes tomorrow so just sent all the DC for an earlier night.
67-71 500 emails
72-73 binliners of rubbish from girls room

@Vulpix abit cheeky but keen to know if you have any tips for cheering up teak furniture... I have a standard lamp, side board and coffee tables. The badly marked ones I'm getting help with but the others I'm going to wash with warm soapy water and then debating whether to wax rather than anything else.
Take care all x20 -

Made a decision on some things from earlier that I wanted to ponder on. Designated a "Time will Tell" storage bag for clothes & accessories - added a fair bit of stuff. Put aside some jewellery for a friend and Niece - will count when it leaves the house. Did a little bit more work on accounts.
Tasks Completed:
- Reorganised trunk where I store the clothes I'm not using (mostly off-season) - created a "time will tell" storage bag.
- Replaced wire on earrings
Stuff - IN (running total 5):

Back from Christmas and New Year holiday. Spent today opening post and dealing with it - a couple of larger things put to one side to sort out tomorrow.Looking forward to getting stuck into further decluttering and sorting. It was lovely coming home to much less stuff - it felt so much calmer and there was a bit more space to put everything as it came out of the car. So different from usual and it has had the pleasing knock on effect of being unpacked faster. Will report back when some decluttering has been done.Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅21

Hello all. I was hoping to join in if that was OK?
The week before Christmas I took holidays and wrote a very long list of jobs to do and things to declutter. I achieved it (and so much stuff found a new home!) that it's spurred me on. I've ended up sick since NY so will have to restart with intent.
That said I took 5 bags to the charity shop on Weds when I was out searching for Flu Meds. I've managed to regain what will by my craft corner - a desk built into an old built in cupboard in my bedroom - and I can now see my way clear to having some essential me time. I sorted this out over Xmas and tidied and moved all my crafts into this one space (bar my sewing machine).
Tomorrow I should be back at work but unfortunately I am still unwell, so I shall spend tomorrow trying to tidy the house and writing my plan for 2023. I'd really love the company to help me through. Been reading back and everyone is going so well! I've ordered a new dot grid notebook to create a bullet journal to help me along.
Anyway, hope all are OK, and here is to a decluttered 2023.23 -

Hello everyone.I’ve sorted a load more photos out and so counting them and other stuff I have got above 1000 items decluttered. It’s not difficult to do as a lot are blurred, bad lighting or scenery. I also took lots at the same time so it’s easy to just pick the best of the bunch and toss the rest. About half of the photos are my mum and dads that I took when I cleared her house out 4 years ago and I’ve been meaning to sort them out since then. I’ll post some to my brother in Australia and keep others with details of who and where if I can.Today was spent emptying the garage!!! Roofer coming tomorrow so it had to be done 😬 I’m not counting any of that in my goal of 2023 or I could hit my target immediately. Hubby had agreed that before we put stuff back in garage we will sort it then. (Won’t hold my breath) A couple of runs to the tip now need booking so I can start to add other junk to that pile too.I’ve just finished watching nick knowles house clearance and have found it really motivating as well as becoming hooked on YouTube videos of people who are minimalists. 👍
Will update totals later.
keep going everyone. 😘Declutter challenge 2023.
