@nannywindow
shockingly quick. no wonder your BP is up. Hope you feel better and wishing the family strength at a difficult time.
Meanwhile - i've been awol as have travelled to Canada, unfortunately at the same time as having food poisoning so have done some nasty decluttering. And now that I'm here I've got to start again on decluttering my mom's place that i started on a year back. I'd love to take her Limoges china (originally a wedding gift to my dad's mom from my granddad) but 1) I don't need another set of china no matter how beautiful and b) I've yet to find a way to get it back to the UK for less than a fortune. (best quote was about £1k) Have also had a quick look at the watercolour paint set I left with mom a year back thinking I would reacquire that but it's a bit of a mess so I'll be happy to leave it with her for the time being. Maybe I'll get it back in a couple more years.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. 1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks to include MMiM - do this before I go to bed
2. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ I have an acronym - I.R.I.S. being Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off
3. Implement a new sleep/wake up regime - start going to bed earlier (target before 2:00 a.m.) get up earlier (target by 9:00 a.m.)
4. Deal with ‘Urgent’ daily mail immediately & the rest at the weekend
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. If I spot a mini task deal with it immediately e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
7. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Oops 🙊 I watched the rest of Season 3 of Line of Duty. I seem to be more discerning the older I get because although I am still enjoying each series I am noticing every single one of the flaws 😔 - all the police are either incompetent or corrupt 😳 It has rained on & off all day including a short thunderstorm with attendant lightning & hailstones. Somehow DSis managed to go out & get her prescription medication during a dry spell 😉 + she managed to get both a flu jab & a Covid booster jab - one in each arm 🥳 Dinner was either fish’n’chips or pie’n’chips & DH had ordered enough times previously that the cost was less than half price 🥳 Wudupa.

So lovely to see you 2Scratters 👋 “Putting pen to paper” is so much more poetic than ‘fingers to keyboard’ 😂 Pleased to hear that time spent in the TLC Carriage & reading along has helped to revive your enthusiasm for decluttering 😊 I like the idea of making notes on scrap paper rather than a To Do list - something very satisfying about scrunching up the paper once the task has been completed 😊Excellent decluttering in all rooms of your home 👏 Very impressive especially Bedroom 1 being “a haven of peace and calm” 👏 I love your comment “We are clearly tortoises - no rushing about but magic is still happening.” That puts the cherry on top of all your hard work & also means that I am awarding you a Gold Star ⭐️ Keep up the good work 😉
QueenJess, sorry to hear that work has been so busy that you have barely found time to eat 😥 Well done on the “natural” decluttering of both freezers & paper 👏 I also ‘think on paper’ - for me, the act of writing is somehow more conducive to thought than typing 😊
Crazycatlady2, that’s what I am missing when it comes to growing carrots - I need a dog 🤣 Well done on losing 19lbs in 2 months - worthy of a Gold Star ⭐️ which is on its way 😊 Fingers crossed that the roof is OK until the builders turn up 🤞I had never heard of ‘night rage’ but I can understand how annoying it would be that the bottom sheet would keep coming off at the corners 😖
Excellent decluttering Rootle 👏 As you are pleased about your redundancy, I will offer my congratulations 🥳
Florenceem, that was quite a late night for you 😥 but it sounds like more generous donations from the supermarkets 👏 The workmen have done a grand job 🥳 Fingers crossed that the quote for the back garden is reasonable & affordable 🤞
Great decluttering GrannyKate 👏 Fingers crossed you managed to catch up on reading 99 posts 🤞😉
Great decluttering TC77 👏 Well done on your continuing work on the ‘big frog’ 👏 hopefully it will soon be completed 🍀
Lovely supportive post Liverpool_Anne 😊 & great decluttering 👏 Loving the conversation about using up scrap paper 😅 Not tmi 😉 I am keeping fingers, toes & eyes crossed, that your peacemaking & reconciliation skills will bear fruit & that harmony will be restored between your DSis & your DNiece 🤞Great decluttering & I hope you manage to get a good night’s sleep 😴
nannywindow, further hugs for you and your family. Please take care of yourself 🙏
stellata, lovely to hear that your employers are being so nice - they obviously think very well of you 😊 Excellent decluttering 👏 & hopefully Liverpool_Anne’s suggestion re books might be useful 🤞
Florenceem the new wall looks great 😌 sets of the garage door really well 👏
Brie, sorry to hear about the food poisoning whilst travelling to Canada 😔 That is decluttering of the very worst kind 😥 Good luck with decluttering your mom’s place 🍀 Shame about the Limoges china 😔
~FlowerPot~, lovely post 😊 Sorry to hear about the face ache 😔
Excellent decluttering short_bird 👏 especially the deferred decisions 👏
All caught up so off to bed 😌

Morning all
Yesterday I decluttered a mannequin that I bought years ago for my business that I ended. She'd sat in my wardrobe to use by my Fantasy Self for learning to dressmake. 5 years on and I've not done that, so off she went to a new home for £10. Great decluttering, +1 item. I struggle with keeping things for Fantasy Self.
However when my mum came over for Mr Flamingo's bday she brought back a projector screen she borrowed from me in 2018. Its old and bulky and I really don't want it back! So will have to list this and see if I can get rid.
I suspect she'll bring my breadmaker that she borrowed in 2020 back next. Fantasy Self will struggle to let that go.
Not got much decluttering planned today, but a few bits to take to DSIL for DNs tomorrow as well as a big frog of going to Newport again for the last two kid's passports so we can book Disneyland for half termMarried 40y.o. mum of an autistic 11y.o. Carer/SAHM.

Minor mishap: I had taken all the breadflour after my dad's passing, because it was his hobby, and mum definitely won't be doing that. Sis wasn't interested, either. I baked a few loaves in my simple breadmaker, but the bread remained a bit soggy, no matter which programme I used. Even when I added less water, it was soggy and then it was too dry. I asked mum if I could borrow dad's slightly better breadmaker to see if it would make a difference, so that is now on my pantry shelves, waiting for my time and energy. Then, last month, sis visited mum and told her she was diagnosed with diabetes and would have to (drastically) change her diet. She would like to start baking her own specific bread, and could she please borrow dad's breadmaker. Mum had to tell her she couldn't, because it was still with me. Now, I'm a bit upset. I know we're estranged, but her medical needs trump my hobby. I also know that she and her husband make about 4 times what we make, and dad's breadmaker is just a Domo, probably bought at a discount or even a charity shop. Still, it's like a moral obligation: family help each other out.Sorry for the novel and thought-drivel; I'm just more upset than I thought I would be. I think it's mainly because I know sis will see this as preferential treatment of me, and will worry that I will make of with 'the inheritance' without her input. Which I'm not, neither making off, nor without her input. And I'm upset about her having diabetes; I'm guessing my niblings are in the danger zone, too.Are you wombling, too, in '22? € 58,96 = £ 52.09Wombling in Restrictive Times (2021) € 2.138,82 = £ 1,813.15Wombabeluba 2020! € 453,22 = £ 403.842019's wi-wa-wombles € 2.244,20 = £ 1,909.46Wombling to wealth 2018 € 972,97 = £ 879.54Still a womble 2017 #25 € 7.116,68 = £ 6,309.50Wombling Free 2016 #2 € 3.484,31 = £ 3,104.5914

Morning all - caught up on all the posts. Condolences and hugs @nannywindow. Love the wall @Florenceem.
Surrounded by chaos it seems to me but I may get motivated to tidy up. Two new babies due in the Spring to start the next generation of family - my sister and late brother's great grandchildren. Decided to reduce subscription level for well known family history site as I never use the overseas records much. That reduces it from £179 to £119 pa and still includes Ireland. Last of September cards posted so need to start October - just 4 birthdays late in the month and only cards needed so cheaper than September. DGS1 off to start Uni today.
1261 Last of September cards posted

1266 Two small Christmas gifts for stockings purchased
1267 Covid and flu jabs booked (I will ask about the shingles vaccine as I have never been offered it and they keep advertising on tv)

Morning, sunny here today and chanced putting the washing out to dry with a second load going out soon. Perks of working from home. Through tempted to hide out in the TLC carriage as cold has moved from sore throat and earache to sinuses, runny nose and congestion and feeling bleugh.
I watched last night's episode of sort your life out and thought the house looked normal for a busy family. My home is worse than that (hangs head in shame) and don't know where to start again. It's like I've become blind to the clutter/mess. 😳15
