Good morning. I am continuing to get up earlier and I am getting so much more done. Who would have thought? Mind you the past few months my hands have been tied while the builders have been doing their thing. There were 21 things on my to do list and 3 remain. I have however been in the loft!!!!!!!! Firstly it needs hoovering up there from when we had a new roof and secondly it needs a tidy up. My plan is to bring everything of ours down and store it in the house or get rid. A lot of mirrors and pictures went up there to clear the decks before decorating. I have brought some down but will need help with the big heavy ones. Not a job for this week. The 2 eldest kids have managed to wrangle space up there for stuff. Beanie babies, sylvanians, Lego, knex. It has come from my Mum’s house. My Mum has asked me to empty her house, with a view of selling it. It is going to take a long time. The man is still living there rent free. 😡🤬🤬🤬
Mrs SD, we will probably go on another cruise. It is expensive but once on board it is all inclusive, unless you drink a fair bit. All the organisation of visiting different places is taken care of too. Cunard will launch a new ship next year so we will see what we fancy on her.Off to do a big shop now, drop off at the chazzer, visit Drs to see if I can have an egg free flu jab and then off to craft club for the first time in months. All my craft stuff is buried in the shed atm. DD1’s BF bought a drum kit and found an old fairisle cardigan inside (to muffle it). The sleeves had big holes but I am making the body into a waistcoat for Dd and will try to make 2 beanie hats from the sleeves. My house plants will survive but they haven’t enjoyed weeks of rain, cold then heat and drought then cold and rain again. I will give them some surgery later.900. Old bath sponge
901. Old face cloth used as cleaning cloth and
Binned
902. Capri pants
906. 4 cushions that came with the new sofas.A bit too elaborate for me.Vx:17 -
I am in the middle of decluttering the holiday washing mountain, I don't understand how we could have accumulated so much in 2 weeks when we were in T. shirts and shorts for the 1st week. My house looks like wishy washy's laundry gone hay wire ! I had to put the heating on yesterday as DH wasn't feeling too good and shivering so I dried some of it indoors as the weather is too wet and windy to put outside.
Today we have to get DH's oncology injection done then tomorrow it's my BP re-check as it was very high last time, and I think it will be again due to things beyond my control. I am also cleaning the 'van stuff, kettle, cutlery, etc ready to put away for the winter, sadly we're only fair weather 'vanners now.
We had an upsetting phone call about DNiece late last night and neither of us has slept much. She has deteriorated with yet more infections which refuse to budge even bombarded with different treatments, so she's now on pallative end of life care 😭. Her DH is breaking the news to their 11 year old DD and grown up DS this morning, I don't envy him having that conversation, but now all that we can do is support them in any way possible.
Everyone seems to be doing so well at decluttering, keep up the great work !
Take care all

Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently19 -
Nannywindow so sorry about your Niece, how heartbreaking. I have an 11 year old and can't fathom it. My SIL lost my BIL to cancer in 2020 (he was only 36), and the kids were 11 and 6, and she was also 7 months pregnant. Life is so unkind sometimes.
Crafting And Chat done, good to do some painting, catch up with an old friend, and make new friends. Just discovered DS needs wellies for school tomorrow, old ones are all outgrown! So will have to head out again. Mr Flamingo just declutteted 18,000 emails for me, will count that as an extra 1 on the tally

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks to include MMiM - do this before I go to bed
2. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ I have an acronym - I.R.I.S. being Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off
3. Implement a new sleep/wake up regime - start going to bed earlier (target before 2:00 a.m.) get up earlier (target by 9:00 a.m.)
4. Deal with ‘Urgent’ daily mail immediately & the rest at the weekend
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. If I spot a mini task deal with it immediately e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
7. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Tuesday is another overcast day with both rain & strong winds forecast 😔 I got up & dressed properly as DH & I ‘were’ finally going to Hatton Garden but I have postponed until tomorrow as I am feeling a bit bleugh 😔 DH has decided to treat himself to a bath instead 😅 whilst I try to catch up on the cheerleading….wish me luck 🍀
TC77, quite a long journey to retrieve your purse 😬 Well done on making the hallway tidier & feeling more welcoming as you come in 👏 DD1 is very cheeky - 1,000 items in an hour 🤔😂 Perhaps you should dare her 😉
EnergyShifter, after a short lull the EDT appears to have picked up speed again 😉 no wonder I am struggling to keep up with the cheerleading - that’s my excuse anyway 😂 An excellent bout of decluttering on Sunday afternoon 👏
Thank you for such an informative post wort 👏
Florenceem, sounds like the workmen have made an excellent start 👏 It also sounds like MrF is doing well 😊 Hope the rain stayed away until your washing was dry 🤞
oceanspirit now that is what I call dedication - decluttering whilst you are on holiday 👏 Hope you have a wonderful time staying in a posh hotel 😊
~FlowerPot~ thanks for the information about insoles 👏
Excellent physical & digital decluttering flamingo747 👏
~FlowerPot~ so sorry to hear that you have been suffering so much pain 😔 & that you needed to visit A&E to get some effective pain relief 😮💨 Well done to DS1 for following your instructions & getting some decluttering & tidying done 👏
Wednesday2000, shame about the tights - maybe leggings might work 🤔
Siebrie, sometimes cheaper versions of things work well but not always 😔 Quality clothing will stand the test of time & 40 years definitely qualifies as quality 😊 Great decluttering 👏
nannywindow sounds like you had a wonderful holiday 😊 Now you just need to hang onto that feeling for as long as possible whilst you resume the doctors appointments etc. Excellent work sorting out the caravan & also excellent decluttering 👏
daisy_1571, some good advice for Muddy_Walker 😊 Congratulations on your new family member 🥳 She is gorgeous 😻 & I can see that she is settling into her new role as Queen of the house 😉 No need for a lap blanket when winter sets in 😅
kiss_me_now9, I believe someone has already suggested making draught excluders 🙂 or you could knit some toys & use as stuffing 😉
Fizz2015, hopefully the 20mph speed limit won’t cause too much road rage 🤞Sorry to hear that you are coming down with DD’s cold, I think you need some time in the TLC Carriage 😊 Sausage’n’mash is true comfort food 🤗
Muddy_Walker so very pleased to hear that the situation has been resolved 😮💨 at least for the time being 😉 Now that the air has been cleared, hopefully hubby will stick to his side of the arrangement re the Room of Doom - I.e. “suck it up and get on with it” 😅 You would then feel more like ‘assisting’ him 😉
Florenceem, definitely sounds like you have hired the right people to sort out your front garden 🥳 An added bonus is that they don’t think they are made of sugar so will continue working when it rains 😉You must be very pleased that MrF is impressed 😊 Sounds like a far nicer view from your kitchen 😊 Fingers crossed that the owner reduces your bill a little as he might be getting more business from handing out cards 🤞😉
Nice to see you back D123456789 👋 Please don’t sell yourself short - you have decluttered a considerable amount 👏 especially as it is “OUT OUT” to quote Micky Flanagan 😉 Good luck with the sales 🍀 Hopefully when LO has found everything she will put it away as she wants 🤞😉
flamingo747, thanks for the reminder re Snag tights 👏
Brilliant post Floss 😂 - “Oh I remember doing that at school - I was very skinny with long legs, so not a good combo for one-size-fits-none 1970s/ 80s tights!”
TC77, I am with you re the “tights and knickers conversation” - it is brightening up some very dull days 😉. (I never had any problems as I only ever wore socks 😂)
Lovely post nannywindow 👏 We noticed a couple of roads in Yorkshire/Lincolnshire with that same scenario - 30mph on our side interspersed with 50mph signs but 40mph in the other direction 🤷♀️ Very odd 🙄
flamingo747, if you get a discount then MrT is definitely the place to shop 😉
florianatwobob, as you are the 2nd person to recommend Snag tights I might have to investigate 🧐
kiss_me_now9, perhaps you have a local greengrocer/market - could be a bit more expensive but better quality 😉
Wednesday2000, fingers crossed re the Snag tights 🤞 Thanks for continuing the “tights and knickers” conversation 👏😅
Excellent decluttering Natty68 👏 Stacey & Dilly would be very proud of you decluttering 60% of the contents of 3 boxes 🥳 Hope you are enjoying the Over 50’s coffee & chat & that you make loads of new friends 🤞
Good work TC77 👏 Steady progress - little & often is working for you 😊
weenancy, that is absolutely brilliant 🤩 $500 from your book sale 🥳 The library & it’s volunteers & staff must surely be in line for another Community Award 🤞😉 not only for the book sales but also for ‘The Books for Jail Project’ Excellent work dealing with so many Frogs 👏 a Gold Star ⭐️ is winging its way across the Atlantic but might be slightly delayed due to the remnants of Hurricane Lee 😉 Please try to fit in a visit to the TLC Carriage for a rest 🙏
Excellent work EnergyShifter 👏 You are speeding along with your organising - almost as fast as the EDT 🤩 The added bonus of all your hard work is that even DS has noticed 😂 👏 Hope you have a good week 😊
Florenceem, your workmen are definitely a brilliant find - I hope you are patting yourself on the back 😊Good luck to DGS J with his painting 🍀 Please remember to donate a few slices of fruit loaf to the TLC Carriage 😉
flamingo747, Great decluttering before heading off to Craft and Chat 👏
wort, I think I would like to cuddle your fleece throw draught excluder 😉😊
vulpix, I did smile at the idea of getting up earlier & getting more done each day 😁 I might just have to try that 🤣 One medal 🏅 coming your way for an 86% success rate re your To Do list 👏 Wishing you good luck with the “Great Loft Clear Out Project” 🍀 Sounds like your dear Mum is moving on with her life now that she has decided that she wants you to empty it with a view to selling. A mammoth task not helped by the fact that the chap is still living there rent free 🤬 🤬 Perhaps you can start the paperwork to get him out? although it sounds like you might have to get legal advice re the best way to proceed 😔 I think you definitely have the ‘cruising bug’ now 😊 Great decluttering 👏 & I am looking forward to seeing the results of your upcycling of the fair isle sweater 🙏
nannywindow, excellent work putting the van to bed for the winter 👏 Hopefully you won’t be living in ‘wishy washy’s laundry’ for too long 🤞Hope DH is feeling better today & that both of your appointments go well 🤞 I am so very sorry to hear about your DNiece 😢 Hugs to you all, especially her DH, DD & DS 🤗
Such a supportive & empathetic post flamingo747 🥹 Sounds like you had a great time at Craft and Chat 😊 Well done to Mr Flamingo 👏 I am awarding him his own medal 🏅 for deleting so many emails 👏 I do think that you are selling yourself short - 18,000 emails should surely count as 18 🤔
Would you Adam & Eve it - I have finally caught up 🥳 See you later 👋

Workmen left at noon after paving slabs arrived - retaining wall needs to dry out before they pave the area. I was sent photos of paving slabs so I could choose.
J painted 4 doors and went off with chocolate bars and a cornetto.
I dreamt about my Mum last night - it would be her Birthday tomorrow - she has been gone 35 years.

3 more boxes of random stuff to the chaz, including a stack of wall plates which haven't been on a wall in at least 5 years. In theory I like them but there's no doubt they catch dust and hopefully someone will like them and buy them.Magnolia Stellata15

Thank you Mrs SD, he does deserve a medal as decluttering is definitely not his thing. Got rid of 40 items that were either his or joint, so bedroom is now declutteredMarried 40y.o. mum of an autistic 11y.o. Carer/SAHM.

Took CS bag in at lunchtime and added a jug. After work just taken a big mirror to CS, waiting for my phone to be mended, dropping off food and parcel ( item sold) and picked up cardboard box for dd1 who has sold some boots. She was going to the Swedish shop to buy a box to post them in !
Have some frogs to do tonight. Weird having only me at home , going to set a category to sort most days ( every day may be too much).16
