Grass has been decluttered and the greenhouse slightly emptied by the gardeners planting a large number of daff, narcissus & crocus bulbs. Hope the cats and foxes don't dig them all up!!! Also think I'll get more bulbs as you can never have enough spring flowers.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. Hi, Spending this week on doctor's visits (mostly other people's - I am reading a lot while I wait) and working at the library to get ready for the book sale. Mostly done with prep for that. We have so many mysteries, we are packing them in boxes for now so that we can see what else needs to go out in the sale. Our other job is to get better signs for the carts - I just have to make a list and the library staff will take care of it. My job will be to get them all up on Thursday. Other than that I am just bumbling along trying to keep moving. Heat and humidity are supposed to be going down. We aren't used to the humidity here - usually it is under 10% but has been running about 66% lately. Started a new pill which has been making me tired and dizzy. So the combination is making things difficult.
Wishing all of you a good week.16 -
Just popping in with some things used up to declare. Feeling terrible today and like a total failure. No idea how I'm meant to be able to parent fully and work... it just isn't possible and don't know how other people do it. However, I also know that very broken sleep for 4 nights whilst I checked on DD round the clock due to her having a temperature overnight only is definitely significantly impacting my mood. I am utterly useless on not enough sleep and I am now in bed and DH is about to deliver me hm apple crumble and hm ice cream*.32,203 - fridge food overstock used up

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks to include MMiM - do this before I go to bed
2. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ I have an acronym - I.R.I.S. being Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off
3. Implement a new sleep/wake up regime - start going to bed earlier (target before 2:00 a.m.) get up earlier (target by 9:00 a.m.)
4. Deal with ‘Urgent’ daily mail immediately & the rest at the weekend
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. If I spot a mini task deal with it immediately e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
7. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
The rain stopped by 18:45 & stayed dry if rather chilly. We watched the swans & I saw a flight of about 50 geese whilst I was outside (about 20:00) Wonderfully friendly & knowledgeable staff made our dining experience superb. (We had the same waiter as last year 😊) Overall DH won with his selections - DH had ‘whole animals project - in-house cured meats (venison, beef, pork, lamb) with turmeric spiced pickled cucumber with bloomer bread crackers’ 😋😋😋 followed by Winteringham lamb project (lamb belly & lamb shank) with smoked onion purée, pickled mushroom & Enryogi mushroom + a side of fries 😋😋 & a dessert of white chocolate mousse with lemon curd, raspberries & sweet crumb 😋😋 I started with Whitby white crab with chillis on toasted bloomer with brown crab butter & mango chutney 😋😋 followed by white wine risotto with walnuts & Parmesan 😋 (unfortunately the white wine overpowered any other taste 😔) We finished off with espresso coffee. We were in bed by 21:30 😉
Sleep well everyone & I will see you tomorrow 😊

Popping in again after a week away. reportingnumerous frogs dealth with (thank goodness) and 3 large items sold yesterday ( a TV, a foam cushion set from the campervan and a load of thinner bed foam, also from the campervan)
We are renovating our van at the moment and DH has extended the siad benches so I can lay out flat on them (or curl up) without falling off. The new foam pads to be covered were from a donated memory foam matress from the CS which I got for a tenner.
I am off to Portugal Saturday so probably won't post again until after I get back. Keep well all.Wife, mother, gardener, nurse, Big C survivor. Queen Jess - I hope you are feeling at least a little better today. Sleep defecit is almost certainly a factor in how you are / were feeling. Parenting and working is really tough, especially on insufficient sleep. If you can manage it try to speak to yourself as you would a dear friend - I'm sure if you wouldn't be be calling her a "complete failure". Sending hugs & virtual flowers 💐

@QueenJess sleep deprivation is hard especially when working and looking after poorly children during the night. You are an amazing caring parent and superwoman, not a failure. Please go easy on yourself, rest and early nights when you can to catch up on your sleep. As long as everyone is fed and watered and clothed that is the priority. Anything else can wait until you've had some decent rest, don't put extra pressure on yourself.
My Dd is having bad dreams at the moment, usually around 3am and needs cuddles and me to tuck her back into bed. Then the alarm goes off at 6am.15 -
Finished reading Great Expectations and put it in box for cs.

And waving to a little bit north of here where @Mrs_Salad_Dodger is waking up to a sunny morning in my home county.

@QueenJess Does husband step up? Does he do baby-nightshifts? Does he know how to deal with a sick child? Maybe you can take turns looking after a sick child, one night you - the other night him. Does he do his share of housekeeping? If he's not a confident cook, maybe persuade him to make 1 or 2 dishes properly and 'let' him cook them at least once a month/fortnight (you tell him it's because you look forward to them; in reality it's so you have a break and he keeps the routine).Husband is back! After 3 months..., the last 4 weeks of which were frustrating, because 'life' was starting back up and he was stuck in his home country. He doesn't have any vacation days left, so he went from the nightflight, after a quick shower and breakfast at home, to the office for a full day's work.I have finally planted those grasses and heuchera I bought about 3 weeks ago. It looks really 'designed'
The raspberries are giving a handful every day, the black grape is ripe and I'm picking a bunch a day (the grapes are the size of blueberries). The grapes are too small and have vicious pips; I bought it at Aldi for about €5 7 years ago. I plan to remove the grape after I've harvested and will plant the thornless bramble there.
