Finding going into work means can be hard to get away. On way home to do Swedish shop and others with dd2. Looks ( fingers crossed) like I've equipped her with kitchen stuff except kitchen knives, chopping board and spaghetti spoon! Not bad as has oven gloves, baking tray and mixing bowls as well as crockery and cutlery.
Dropped off cs bags yesterday and box of 96 new Xmas Decs. Proud to overcome my meanness and try and sell . Did buy 2 mugs ( dd2 taking some is my excuse) placemats and 2 skirts ( hobby and john lewis ) for about £11. Some may get resonated!16 -
We arrived at our hotel 17:45 just as it started raining 😉 having set off at 10:45 in the sunshine 😊 We have had a lovely day - perfect riding weather - not too warm but dry apart from 4 or 5 30 second bursts of very light drizzle 🙂 First stop 12:50 at the OK Diner for lunch - burger & chips for DH, all day breakfast for me. Left at 13:45 & next stop was 15:10 at the Hatfield Main Miners Memorial. Next stop was a wooden carving called Triathlon. Stopped for petrol & managed to get 21.97 litres into a 22 litre tank 😱 Last stop was an old landmark - Bolton Abbey. Stunning scenery & mostly good roads even the country lanes 😉 Usual sightings of cows, sheep & horses + a dozen or so alpacas 🙂 We are in the Pheasant room of our hotel (previously stayed in Hare) so an upgrade 😂 Dinner is booked for 19:30 so we have showered & changed & are about to go downstairs. Just a couple of photos of our room.See you later 😽

👋 need to catch up on everyone's posts.
We completed our 13 mile trek around Brixham and along parts of the South West Coast path on Saturday for Alzheimer's in memory of my nan. Beautiful scenery and coves, some tough sections and hit a low at 11 miles with hip and back pain but persevered and finished it. So proud of of my OH and myself for our achievement. I would post a pic of us but against forum rules.
Decluttering has taken a backseat for a few days.17 -
Busy day yesterday - Church service at 10.30. Then there was a buffet lunch after prize giving. I was in the kitchen in charge of the oven - I was so hot - cooking sausage rolls, scampi and chicken skewers. Had a lazy time when we got home.
Today was a sad start to my birthday - funeral of a soldier aged 33 - crematorium was packed - outside area was filled with those who didn't get seats. They had booked 2 slots but over ran. We had a lift there and back.
My sister called to see me then my middle daughter and grandson popped by. Mr F has gone to a men's fellowship meeting at the SA so he missed a visit by son, dil and 2 granddaughters.
I have baked a boiled fruit loaf for tomorrow. I will get up early and bake muffins.
Will go and lock up at SA at 9.

Felt tired this morning and as I am out tomorrow and Thursday - decided not to bake and to have a day at home - first for 3 weeks.
Well I did plan not to leave the house today but my officer phoned and I volunteered to take in a supermarket delivery tonight. It saves the officer coming out and he has to be at SA early for rough sleepers breakfasts in the morning at 6.30 - then he cooks a meal for 40 so a very busy day.
Mr F had a slice of the home made fruit loaf and said it was a great bake - counting the dates and walnuts in it as decluttering as they were in the cupboard before January 1st.

@vulpix
I read Perfume a number of years back. What a fascinating and weird book! I'm not much for period books but really enjoyed it I think mostly for the detail on how perfume is made. (aka period books meaning books written now about times way past, not like Jane Austen writing about her own time which is different. that said I also enjoyed Girl with a Pearl Earring).

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks to include MMiM - do this before I go to bed
2. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ I have an acronym - I.R.I.S. being Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off
3. Implement a new sleep/wake up regime - start going to bed earlier (target before 2:00 a.m.) get up earlier (target by 9:00 a.m.)
4. Deal with ‘Urgent’ daily mail immediately & the rest at the weekend
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. If I spot a mini task deal with it immediately e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
7. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Last night’s dinner at The Clarendon was delicious 🤤
I had Venison liver parfait with toast - best course of the evening absolutely sublime 😋😋😋 followed by Venison pie, chips & peas 😋
DH had Trout tartare with capers & cucumber 😋 followed by Grouse with Dauphinoise potatoes & a mixed veg rosti 😋😋 & then had a Strawberry dessert - icecream, strawberries, chocolate shortbread 😋
In bed by 22:00 - I had to use a hotspot from DH (Wi-Fi signal was appalling) to watch one episode of spooks then lights out. Unfortunately I then woke at 01:30, 03:30, 05:30 & 07:30 - then up & dressed in proper motorcycling gear, as it is drizzling heavily, before going down to breakfast at 08:45 - full English + toast & marmalade + orange juice & coffee. Left just before 10:00 in the rain. Rained until about 14:30. Heavy rain when we arrived in Aidensfield 😉 about 13:00 - Stopped in the tearoom for coffee + shared a cheese & leek pastie & had some millionaires shortbread 😋 Then walked down to the car park to use the facilities 😥 Today was 3 current landmarks + one old landmark. The rain stopped for a while between 14:30 & 16:00 although still a bit drizzly & damp. We crossed the Humber Bridge & this year we could see the supports & the views either side 🥳 Last year it was raining so hard we could barely see the road let alone the views 😔 Arrived at The Hope & Anchor just before 17:00 - slightly soggy as opposed to sopping wet 😉 We will shower & change then go down to dinner about 18:45. I will post later with dinner details but won’t do any cheerleading until tomorrow when we get home 😉
