I have been attacked by a hoard of frogs. Feel like making stew of frogs and soup of frogs and anything else I can of frogs. Everyone here is having problems with finances and jobs and medical issues. Every time one issue is solved another pops up.
One of our cats has taken to hiding under my bed and banging around until 1:00 in the morning every night. No space to get under there to get him out either. I have tried covering up the space today with a quilt - will see how it goes. So sleep has been very short as get up between 6 and 7 in the morning.
Roommate Di is still with arm in sling. Of course, she usually doesn't do much around here anyway. Swept once in 12 years for instance. But she has been helping with the driving. Apparently stress causes my diabetes to go haywire which causes the eyes to see double so I am terrified right now of driving. Can see fine up close but anything in the distance is causing problems as eyes aren't coordinating. Trying to arrange for others to do some of it as Di can't drive for another couple of weeks.
My sister is having Easter dinner (since we missed it earlier this year) this Sunday so I am taking presents for everyone so I can get some of the stuff out of the house. We will celebrate a couple of birthdays at the same time, but I am taking presents for everyone. My other sister is doing the driving for this, thank goodness. We didn't get together for Easter until October last year. Problems kept coming up then too.
At least I have read 8 books in the last three weeks and donated them to our book sale - which is almost here again. Third Friday of the month comes early this month and that is our book sale day. Have another boxed packed to leave before then. I only have about 90 boxes worth of books left - so it will take a long time to make a dent. I did talk myself out of going to my favorite used book store Saturday even though they were having a sale. I am always on the lookout for unusual home economics, cookbooks, and ecology books - ones with practical information in them. The actual age of the book doesn't matter - nor does the condition of the book as long as I can learn something from it.
Hope everyone else is having success keeping the number of frogs down. Hugs to all who need it.16 -
aw WeeNancy you have a veritable lake of frogs. 😘 in all seriousness how would your housemates cope if you won the lottery and vanished somewhere? Not too well by the sounds of it. But I think you are the type of person who would take them all with you as you are such a caring person.
Today another thing ticked off the List - garden related plus a tiny bit extra. Didn’t stay out too long as it was/is still very warm.Bathroom bin emptied and 2 very old mattresses decluttered. I spent a lovely afternoon with a friend yesterday at a very uplifting gospel concert in the courtyard of St James' Church Piccadilly. It felt like being on holiday wandering around some of the posher bits of Central London in the glorious sunshine.
Back to work today - thankfully I only had a few clients booked in so it wasn't too much of a shock to the system. Plus I got to spend some time out in the "bonus" sunshine. I have got a very full day tomorrow so will have to make the most of the short breaks between clients to get out in the sun.
Tasks:
Voucher sent to Niece as a starting secondary school treat.IN (running total 158)
159. Re-chargable lamp for the garden - reduced end of season (delighted to get some use out of it this year)

late night for me, DD1 had large item delivered to my house and had to come round to put it in the car, then also took dehumidifer ,hangers I'd bought her (so can't count these) and I gave her crockery x 12 as now has dishwasher and some packaging, also took 2 pairs of socks and as 13 left over socks no one wanted gone to textile recycling. Item came back from DD1 and box recycled as gave up. counting as

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks to include MMiM - do this before I go to bed
2. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ I have an acronym - I.R.I.S. being Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off
3. Implement a new sleep/wake up regime - start going to bed earlier (target before 2:00 a.m.) get up earlier (target by 9:00 a.m.)
4. Deal with ‘Urgent’ daily mail immediately & the rest at the weekend
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. If I spot a mini task deal with it immediately e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
7. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Wrote a shopping list for DH - he has just got back (15:20) & everything was unpacked & put away by 15:30 🙂 Watched a couple of episodes of Spooks & started knitting another scarf. DH fed the worms & filled the bird feeders. I had a lovely long chat with neighbour J 😊 He is retiring at the end of the month & is looking forward to having plenty of free time & city breaks 😉 Three separate dinners - DSis had a portion of spaghetti Bolognaise + garlic bread - both from freezer; DH had fish finger sandwiches & I had a fried egg sandwich. Wudupa.
1936 - 1938 Kitchen recycling, cardboard packaging, drinks cans - recycled
1939 - 1941 Kitchen & office detritus, plastic packaging - binned
Florenceem, your new make is so cute ☺️
Excellent decluttering short_bird 👏
weenancy, so sorry to hear that you are being overwhelmed by frogs 😔 Keeping everything crossed that two frogs at a time can be munched & only one new frog will appear each time 🤞Good luck with both the cat & roommate Di 🍀 At least this years Easter celebrations are occurring earlier than last year 😉 Great work reading so many books 👏 & very well done on resisting the lure of a book sale 👏🥳
Muddy_Walker, I agree that weenancy would almost certainly share any good fortune with her roommates 😊 Great decluttering 👏 I hope you enjoy your new mattress Princess Muddy_Walker 😉
EnergyShifter, sounds like you had a lovely day on Sunday 😊 Fingers crossed you manage to find time to top up your Vitamin D on Tuesday 🤞
Excellent decluttering TC77 👏 & I see you are keeping on top of the counting 😊

out: 1 sock and 1 pair of pyjama pants where the elastic was no longer doing its job.I'm having a very sporty week: dd2 has started secondary school in a small town 6.5k away, by bicycle. I'm cycling with her in the morning, then cycling on to work, which is another 9k. That's almost 1.5hours! Thank goodness I have an electric bike. The bike was cheap from a DIY store, just €1.200; I get €900/year tax exempt commuter's compensation, so the bike has paid for itself 4 of 5 times by nowI'm not picking her up, but I do have to cycle back home from work, of course, 9k.Today, extraordinarily, I will pick her up at school and cycle with her to her singing lesson, then continue on with her to her 'musical notation' lesson halfway home. This last lesson takes an hour, so I will drop her off, cycle home (10 minutes), and cycle back to pick her up at the end. She will have to do this all by herself from next week; we will just be there at the end of the musical notation lesson, because half of the ride is through woods. It's an enjoyable ride, I just don't want to let cycle it alone.I have afternoons off this week, so I can be home when dds come home with their stories. Yesterday, in the 2 hours between when I come home and dd2 comes home, I installed a workspace for husband in our bedroom, from a nice light oak table I bought 25 years ago. It needs a lick of paint, but will do for now. This afternoon I plan to sort out my pantry and air our bedding and pillows. It's 29C, but the lawn won't dry, so it will all go on our terrace.

Hi all, just sitting and having a cold drink
. Well we have gone from miserable to twot
. Lack of sleep has me feeling tired so I thought I'd report in now in case I fall asleep early. In the past couple of days I have sorted my union thing, picked up a tgtg box absolutely bursting with veg. Some has been shared with ln and then rest is waiting in the fridge for the kitchen to cool enough to be used, though the salad stuff is disappearing pleasingly
. I sorted through my small handbag, lots of rubbish in the bin and £6 odd replaced in my purse
. I have sorted 8 bags and a box from the rod which has been consolidated into the box and bits put into other bags like with like but the kitchen bin has been emptied, the kitchen recycling emptied, the bedroom bin emptied and the bedroom recycling emptied 3 times. 1 bag was ripped and has been binned, I really have enough to not to stress about repairing it. I have also done 2 LDFPA and collected and sorted my meds and OHs meds.
1211 union thing
1212 kitchen bin emptied
1213 kitchen recycling emptied
1214 - 1221 bags from rod sorted
1222 box from rod sorted
1223 torn bag binned
1224 handbag sorted
1225 - 1227 3 x bedroom recycling emptied
1228 bedroom bin emptied
1229 meds collected and sorted
1230 + 1231 2x LDFPA
Ok off now to sort some food
Take care everyone

MH came to see Mr F this morning - he is being discharged by them.
Went with Mr F to see the Dr today - he is now anemic so is to have tests. Plus he is to increase his medication so I have to take his blood pressure on a regular basis.
We have to take a test back to the Dr so are visiting the surgery a lot.
Good news - all my tests have come back satisfactory but I see the Dr next week as he told me that if the blood/stool tests were okay - I need further investigation for the weight/hair loss.
