Well today was much more "day off" than "staycation". The most exciting thing I did was go to Aqua Aerobics. Tiredness and the weather made me feel distinctly lacklustre. I had to do a bit of work admin which only added to the "meh!" feeling.... Perking up a bit now thankfully - a G T & my heated blanket helped!
Tasks:
- bag to Charity Shop
- returns to M&S
- painted a small storage boxIN (running total 154)
155-157 - 3 x pairs of leggings - that's me sorted for Autumn winter
158. Pretty hand-painted glass from CS (designated as MY glass )
OUT (running total 521)
522. Bag of wooden clothes hangers left outside for someone to take

Brie - you just reminded me as I know you like your scarves that when I took my dresses to be altered today she asked if I wanted the fabric back afterwards that she is cutting off.🤔 She said I could make scarves out of them.
I said I had idea how to do anything like that and that was why I was getting the dresses altered professionally.😂2025 GOALS

Wednesday2000 - My DDil bought a maxi dress because she liked the fabric and asked me to shorten it to above her knees! I kept the fabric I cut off.
I was asked to make an apron today - someone is going to Rocky Horror show as the waitress - no idea as never seen it.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Well, that was fun: the engineer had to think outside the box to get the connection sorted but fibre broadband finally connected by 6.30.
Quick add to the total:
3000-3006: items to bin
3007: Shredded an inch of paperwork
Deferred decisions finally sorted out now 383.‘Keep your eye on the donut and not on the hole.’ David Lynch.

A few more things out - again mostly books I won't read or at least, won't read again. I belong to 3 libraries so if I do get a desperate urge to look something up I'm well catered for. Also my work mug, as I've brought a much tougher and larger bamboo travel mug in to use - the ceramic one has been donated to the cupboard for visitors or new staff. Some eye cream that is supposed to dispel dark circles but makes my skin sting unpleasantly and some foundation that had separated out both went in the bin.
I don't know if I mentioned getting rid of some low denomination stamps as well (counted as one item) - ood but not worth enough to cash in. I did keep a few for nostalgia.
In - a coffee pot for work as the nescafe instant they provide is giving me the pip (first world problems!), some earrings one of my younger second cousins makes to sell, an art journal (madness, when I have so many notebooks, but its an addiction, clearly), a stackable muji box, and a blouse (second hand) and tshirt (new). 164 things (net) still to be discarded by the end of the year.
I do have some christmas decs to get rid of - big paper fans and honeycomb balls and a christmas mug and stocking - but will wait until October at least, as that is when the charity shops might be able to offload them.Fashion on the Ration 2025 - 1.5 coupons remaining
August Grocery Challenge £132 of £250 spent
Declutter 7 things (net) in 2025. Done, now trying to keep it even (1 under at present).16 -
Got old medicines together but forgot to drop off so will count when I do. Some packaging out , have far too much. Posted items on free site and thought no-one interested and then realised didn't get notification so have to follow up tomorrow. Thought dd2 would be helpful and clearing but seems lots of uni admin and going out with friends.
Helped dd2 with forms and dsa assessment
DIY friend helped me put curtain rail back up so dd2 can move back to her room which should focus the mess.
I've been saying for along time I can see a big declutter ahead just hoping I get nearer it!
Sorry to hear some trial and tribulations for people and great to see so much progress going on. Couple of frogs chewed.

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks to include MMiM - do this before I go to bed
2. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ I have an acronym - I.R.I.S. being Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off
3. Implement a new sleep/wake up regime - start going to bed earlier (target before 2:00 a.m.) get up earlier (target by 9:00 a.m.)
4. Deal with ‘Urgent’ daily mail immediately & the rest at the weekend
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. If I spot a mini task deal with it immediately e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
7. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
13:35 - DH accompanied DSis to the hospital for a scan - no parking currently so they went by bus. Neighbour G has just knocked on the door asking if we have any string. Pleased to say that my sort out of stationery a while ago has come up trumps as I not only knew I had a ball of string but also knew exactly where it was 🥳 Whilst they were out I vacuumed downstairs & only had to empty once 😉 I also folded up DSis’s dried clothes. Also watched 3 episodes of Spooks. DH & DSis got back 16:05 🤔 not the fault of the NHS as DSis handed in her form & only had to wait a couple of minutes for her scan. In & out within 15 minutes 🤩 So what happened with the extra time …….. they stopped of at a pub & had a drink & a natter 😉 DH & I finished off the hm soup 😋 Unfortunately, tasty as it was, I won’t be able to replicate it as I only used leftovers & droopy vegetables 😉 I have sewed the tags back onto the 2 cuddly toys & they have been decluttered……………… to my DSis 😂 but I am still counting 😉Neighbour G returned the ball of string (doesn’t look like much was used 😉) & gifted me a can of pale ale 🙂 Dinner was pork steaks, mash, broccoli & carrots. Wudupa.
1915 - 1916 Two cuddly toys to DSis
1917 - 1921 Kitchen recycling, 2 magazines, newspaper, drinks cans - recycled
1922 Kitchen detritus binned

Quick post - not much decluttering done as busy with DGCs. School next week - yippee. Decluttering 2 this morning then taking the other one home so away for a few days again. Florenceem I must have seen the rocky horror film over 100 times plus been to the shows maybe 6 times lol. My video, then dvd, was perpetually on in my younger days
Its Magenta, the waitress, that I go dressed as to the shows. Costume is very simple, here she is at the beginning of the film which is the look most Magentas go for (her outfit changes subtly as the film goes on). Apron is very simple. Cap is just a circle of white with lace round the edge if your person wants the cap too.

Good morning from sunny Southampton.Does anyone remember the lady who used to post who lived in Southampton? I can remember a lot about her but not her name! She had 2 names as she forgot her log in for the first one. Anyway hi to Southampton girl if you are still with us.I sprung Mr V from hospital and here we are in a very nice hotel, waiting to board ship.It has taken a super human effort to get everything done and be here. I will be in the tlc afloat carriage for the next two weeks. I hope when we get home life will be dull and uneventful. I have had more than enough of this year already. 🤣See you all soon. Vx:16
