1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks to include MMiM - do this before I go to bed
2. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ I have an acronym - I.R.I.S. being Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off
3. Implement a new sleep/wake up regime - start going to bed earlier (target before 2:00 a.m.) get up earlier (target by 9:00 a.m.)
4. Deal with ‘Urgent’ daily mail immediately & the rest at the weekend
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. If I spot a mini task deal with it immediately e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
7. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
In my earlier post I said DH had finished working on the bike, he hadn’t 😉 He actually finished at 18:15 😉 I watched another episode of Spooks & did some knitting. I have finished another scarf & started a new one. Dinner was sliced beef (from the freezer) braised in hm beef gravy (started as a roux….get me 😂) with mash, last of the cauliflower & peas. Obviously quite a tasty gravy as plates were practically licked clean 😅 Wudupa

QueenJess, Excellent use of the time before your dental procedure - you got a lot of decluttering done 👏 Hopefully having a local anaesthetic will mean a quicker recovery time 🤞
Wow you were busy yesterday Liverpool_Anne 🤩 Excellent decluttering & a much tidier rod 👏Especially pleased that you found quite a few treasures - £40+ is not to be sniffed at & then saving money as well 🥳 It was definitely OH who put the odd sock in the rod 🤣 Hope you found something interesting to watch 🤞
Hope you enjoy your art course EnergyShifter 🤞 I agree that black & white photos of grisly things stick in the memory longer than colour photos 😱 Excellent work repairing your wm 👏 reminds me that I need to clean mine including the filters 😔
Excellent work over the weekend Fizz2015 👏 Shame that the pest control people weren’t more ‘honest’ in response to your query 😖 Not quite sure that I would have managed 7 miles, maybe 700 yards 😉
oceanspirit, that really doesn’t sound very professional 😔 Sorry to hear about the special painting from your niece having to be binned 😢 Pleased to hear that OH has taken the large spider further afield 😊 - just hope it doesn’t have a good sense of direction 😉😉
Fizz2015, 10 items a day for 14 days is a great number of items to declutter 👏 However, please remember to spend some time on TLC & enjoying yourself - after all you will be on leave 😊
Siebrie, your husband doesn’t seem to be trying very hard to come home 😖😔 Apologies as I wrote the first thing that came into my head 😞 An excellent bit of decluttering re the garden chest & contents 👏
Excellent decluttering GrannyKate 👏 Hope you enjoy having the DGCs visiting for the week 🤞
EnergyShifter, what an interesting concept “assigned fun” 🤔 I hope it worked & you managed to “resource your (Artist) self” 😊 The fake flower arrangement is beautiful 😍
Brie, loving the chat about artists. Googled both Rowland Hilder & Kit Boyd. Both very talented but my taste leans more towards Rowland 😉
Sorry to hear you were unwell on Monday Florenceem 😔 Such a shame that the bag of fabric wasn’t really suitable but at least it can go to the CS & hopefully someone can make good use of it 🤞 Hattie is very pretty 😍 I am keeping up with the crafting thread - so many talented crafters 🤩
TC77, I will let you off then 😉 as long as you are only keeping items you like 😉 Well done on the sale 👏 & hopefully DD1 will take more than one item 🤞New number 1207 🙂
Wednesday2000, a very apt description of M3GAN - very dark humour 😉
florianatwobob, that is a very intricate pattern 😊 I wish you every success 🙂 I really don’t envy you when you get to embroider St George & the dragon 😬 that is a very slight colour difference 😥
All caught up 🥳 but I do need to try & keep up in future 😉

Hi all, today I tackled the top shelf of my built in wardrobe. I foung a bag of tapestry and embroidery stuff. That has been looked at and will be kept at least for now. The tapestries are finished but not the embroidery yet. I also found a flight bag filled with other bags. I have gone through them and 2 went into the bin, a white clutch bag that I have no memory of buying or using but is obviously not leather as it has bits falling off the surface. The other is a small backpack type which I think is leather but the straps are not and one of the straps is broken. I did intend to repair it but on reflection I decided it probably isn't going to happen and I have other bags I use. The flight bag and a sports bag have been put aside to pass to a friend who has asked for these type of bags for a project her church is running to help refugees. I am not sure if they are exactly what she is looking for but if she doesn't want them they can go to the cs. Not counted as they haven't left the house yet
. I am pondering another 2 bags, a tan clutch bag and a larger tan bag. Both barely used mainly because of the colour, not sure if I like tan now. I will keep them for now and have a think, they might be bound for the cs
. I did check through them all but only found 5p :smiley. I also found a bag with my wedding dress in it. It is in need of a wash. It is a cotton Laura Ashley number so will go in the machine. Depending how it looks when it comes out I might try to sell it. I think I only kept it for the nice quality fabric
@Mrs SD my husband was also a right "insert any derogatory word of choice" so it has no sentimental attachment
Tomorrow I have a chiropodist appointment and have to pop to the sm but I hope to completely empty the wardrobe and give it a good hoover. The dust on the top shelf was terrible, set me off sneezing. The bedroom will no doubt resemble a jumble sale for a couple of days while I sort it out but it will be done
@Mrs SD I know the lure of spooks, just my sort of thing and binge watching on a rainy day is perfect and I have to say that is exactly why I like the iPlayer, when there is nothing worth watching 'live' I can always find something to watch. I have started to watch the 2 new things on bbc this week, The woman in the walk and The following events are based on a pack of lies. I am not sure about either of them but I will persevere with them as there is not much on that appeals atm and at least they are not repeats
Right off to bed now, hugs to anybody who would like one

Take care everyone

Have got an absolutely stinking cold so what with that and the advice from the hospital that my op will be at least another 2 months, I'm not feeling very chirpy. Unfortunately the delay means I have to make a complaint and upset people now so not the best. I'm anxious and cross and scared about all this. Decluttering does help for a bit but it's hard going.Magnolia Stellata18

"Siebrie, your husband doesn’t seem to be trying very hard to come home 😖😔 Apologies as I wrote the first thing that came into my head"It's not that straightforward, unfortunately.Air France had its landing rights revoked / decided not to fly to 3 West-African countries for a fortnight. Husband has a non-refundable ticket, so he had to take whatever they offered him, and their offer was the first available flight on 1 September. Now, they can't/won't fly for an extra period, so they have booked him on a flight to a neighbouring country with a different plane company, and then straight to Brussels from there, but the first availability was 9 September. He works (very) remotely at the moment, and has no vacation days left, so he can't fly during the week. If he had just cancelled his ticket and bought a new one with a different company, he would not have been reimbursed his €600, and the new ticket would have cost around €1,500. We can't afford that.

Liverpool_Anne - my Niece got married wearing a Laura Ashley dress. I hope your dress washes okay. My first thought was - it would make gorgeous doll dresses.
I was in town the other day and saw a little girl in front of me - I was imaging the dress she was wearing on one of my dolls.
Going to trim Mr F's hair and beard then off to get a blood test today.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

I was in our garage/laundry room/pantry yesterday, and realised that there were several plastic boxes half-filled with husband's African cooking ingredients. I collected all of them in the largest box, threw out several opened plastic baggies (opened 2 or 3 years ago...) and washed the empty boxes. This has created space on my pantry shelves, and options for storing; what shall I do with the empty plastic boxes? Put them in dds' desk drawers to help divide the contents?

And like @Liverpool_Anne I too was married in a Laura Ashley dress - boring just off white one so nothing dreadfully exciting. I did offer it to my 2 nieces, both of whom have so far declined the offer. I did say I wasn't suggesting it for a wedding dress but that one of them might want to cut off a lot of the skirt and dye it purple or whatever. But still no takers. Haven't managed to declutter OH either so I guess I'm stuck for now.
Meanwhile - went through the cleaning cupboard and discovered 2 spray air fresheners. OH says I obviously had bought them. And I know for a fact I never would have bought them as I hate air fresheners in general and aerosol spray ones in particular. So as a bit of pay back I took them with me to the food bank this morning. Because both have been used they've been allocated to the on site loo. They will be well used until we stop having quite so many rough sleepers looking for a place to tidy up.
