Just looking to try and continue decluttering even if it's a single thing every day. I do feel like I'm starting to be impeded by needing to just use some stuff up and not replace them, but am trying to also think about if it is realistic to use it up in the next few years or if I need to get rid of it. One to ponder on..I decided to look into the upstairs cupboard today as it always feels like there is too much in there and it is half perfectly organised half shoved in where it doesn't work. It always feels overwhelming though, so I decided just to tackle the random cables box. I know I haven't looked in it for a year and I've not used a single thing in it. So discussed with DH and then ejected it all bar spare headphones and foreign plug converters with a couple of bits disappearing into DH's room that I don't have to see. Small wins, but if I can consolidate more of the boxes in the cupboard then eventually it may all work out. Definitely a long term plan for that cupboard. To be fair, the place feels reasonably organised and under control, just not perfectly tidy and my library is still a bit of a dumping room. So yes, more to do, but I've done so much already. Just trying to get tidying and decluttering into my daily routine so it will continue to slowly improve everyday. There's nothing really left to do a massive purge on (digital photos aside) and it's all little bits here and there.31,781 - food cupboard overstock used up

I had a sort out of my Tee shirt drawer today as it was looking somewhat overstuffed. The pile of worn out Tee shirts was much bigger than the good ones! The duff ones will be gone through another time to see what fabric I might salvage for reuse and what is rags. Life is getting in the way of proper decluttering at the moment so this was a nice manageable little project.
One thing led to another, and I then went through the underwear and nightwear drawers. I appear to have loads of pairs of tights and I simply cannot remember when I would have worn all those nude and sheer things! I have only worn opaque tights in black or in bright colours for at least a decade now. They have been bagged up until I can go through them and select a couple of perfect pairs to keep (“What for?”, she wonders!) before using the rest for stuffing or something. I have some nightwear that I might remodel into slips and pyjama shorts so they have gone into the mending cupboard, along with two petticoats which require shortening.18 -
Hi declutterati chums
This morning I finished some self employment which means I am now free of all work till Monday
I've also made more progress with the frog that is my self assessment.
I've been trying to put clothes away straightaway but couldn't fit some in my drawer so took everything out to sort through which meant I found some clothes I'd forgotten about as well as allocating some for the CS. I've started a new pile of stuff as this afternoon i took the below filled suitcase to the CS - they were actually shut but the staff came out the door as I stood there staring in disappointment at the notice saying they were closing early!! They agreed to take my suitcase - thank goodness as I really didn't want to take it home! The fluff is my cats' hair

Been reading along and cheering from the sidelines. Really want to declutter ,but have to focus on major deadline for my huge frog and know decluttering is a distraction so will reboot the clear out from next weekend. Have had to some paper declutter to find what I need for the frog. Some out of date food binned. Dd2 rang me the other day to say big band when she turned the oven on , none of the cooker works so microwave food and big cous cous salad !

Shed declutter started well this morning. Several things on pile for CS or recycling centre and some others put away indoors for using up. Also did 10 mins in the garden to get rid of some particularly big weeds.Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅20

Hi all, reasonable day today. I was up early to watch the women's world cup games and did a few bits during the breaks and chat bits. Bedroom bin emptied, kitchen bin and recycling emptied. I tackled 2 frogs that should be sorted now but I will have to monitor. I have a problem the the itv player, it's not working. I have previously emailed and got no sensible replies so today I phoned. I was on the phone for over an hour and the upshot is it has been referred to a special team, I should keep checking. It has caused no end of arguments as OH has resorted to recording loads of stuff and then not deleting it from the box after watching so the box is full all the time and then doesn't record. Fingers crossed
. After tea I tackled my emails again and am now down to less than 50 in my inbox, 300 deleted and some filed for future checking which has cheered me up no end as I don't have that overwhelm feeling whenever I go into my emails. I am going to try to check them daily now and keep on top of them as well as work my way through the files.
Tomorrow we are at a birthday party after the footy so I will have to wrap the present and write the card in the morning. I have both wrapping paper and the card in my stash
Hugs to everyone who would like one

Due to the weather clouding over on Friday afternoon I ended up pottering in the afternoon rather than lounging in the garden ... I noticed that I was not far off of 500 items out so set that as a goal for the weekend - only 6 items off now!
Yesterday I was at a Wedding all day - definitely the most lavish wedding I've ever attended. Other than my last minute faffing around with outfits that almost made us late, it was a lovely day.
Looking back I can hardly believe how preoccupied I became about finding the right thing to wear. I must have tried & returned 10+ dresses and ended up wearing a dress that I'd bought at a CS, donated and re-bought 😂 - (cost me £10 in Total ! ). On reflection it seems like a big waste of time and energy but I guess in many ways it was one of the things that helped me out of my slump earlier in the year and make me feel more engaged in the world again.
No "extraordinary" events on the horizon so I'm expecting my trips to TK Maxx to become less frequent now.
