Hello all, real life taking over. Managed a few nights away in North Devon which was lovely and much needed. Then on our return a family member suffered a stroke and still in hospital 10 days on but has now been moved to a rehabilitation ward. My helpful deed was spending a day cleaning their house (along with SIL) and doing copious amounts of washing. They will have a nice clean and calm home to come back to. Wish I could count everything we decluttered or binned as would definitely reach target.
My mum is visiting next week so I will be having a crazy tidy up yet again. Decided we just need a bigger house instead to fit all our things 😅. In reality that is not going to happen.
Whilst I am typing DD is sorting her toys and put a pile together of things outgrown on her own accord.
Off to tackle the laundry, hoping the weather stays dry and buying the older ones school shoes (branded trainers in adult sizes will be an ouch moment). 😳

Morning Peeps,
not added much contribution for a while and have now caught up with everyone. Being a procrastinator is difficult to get going and RL with elderly parents needing support in 2 different locations has added to it. Dad still in hospital after a stroke and mums dementia deteriorating weekly.
Some very small items have been leaving. Yesterday I had a bit of a snowball reaction which started with the throwing away of a pen! Why was I battling trying to get it to write properly.
A bag of plastic for the SM i.s now travelling in the car with me till I pass the location for dropping it off.
I keep removing stuff from parents e.g 2 large toffee jars (literally) full of sugar. Mum can't see any more. OOD store items. Stock items they don't use anymore. They are now with me to use up.
2 cashmere tops posted off for recycling into other items for a UK based company and I will get 2 pairs of fingerless gloves back and will be able to gift them. (Matching items out with what comes in)
2 OOD 35mm films gifted on Olio as someone was asking for some. Posted them off (free stamps from xmas) as although same post code it doesn't take into consideration water is in the way.
Admin tadpole re parents telephone call resolved very quickly
DH had chosen a top to throw away
Cleaned and tidied fridge found some items to UU
Revisited under the sink making sure all still like with like and was there anything that could be decanted so I could throw another item didn't find one but this is keeping me focussed on a full cupboard.
UU 1 vintage soap.
Visited items for parents of LN were moved to their new location (parents house)
UU steaks from freezer on new BBQ we tried out (have waited 10 years for the BBQ!)
Pack of playing cards for CS bag
2 random items for CS bag
UU moisturiser - recycled
DH decided to recycle a pair of jeans that were designated for recycling some money that he is now going to wear
I'm not counting items I just needed to get them written down so I can see that things are moving
Have a good weekend all - I am supposed to be putting some items onto the Bay e this weekend, not happened yet!

A little more done in the shed (just a few things into general rubbish and others put away or on a pile to be cleaned before being put away) and phone calls made to arrange things for the coming week. OH will take some shopping we did online for someone else to them and I will continue to incorporate older tins etc into the meals.Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅19

I have been through my toiletries and makeup drawer and reorganised it with these plastic boxes I forgot I had. I am using up a face scrub as a body scrub in the shower, chucked away used up toothpaste and put what empty bottles I could into recycling. It really was a mess before!
I am making a list of things I don't use to donate. The robot vacuum, the basket style air fryer, a shoe rack and a new pair of trainers that I bought ages ago, but just have never worn.
The bulky waste is finally being picked up tomorrow morning!2025 GOALS

Hello declutterati chums (I like that expression too),
Thank-you to MrsSD for my new gold star, and for your brilliant cheerleading. Well done to everyone for all the decluttering you are doing, I do keep up will what you are all up to regularly, even though I don't post very often.
Love the cat photos and pictures, and the craft makes. Sadly I never seem to get to the craft projects on my “to do” list.
So my number this update are:
Physical items decluttered or frogs ticked off – 102 items to CS, plus bag blister packs for their fundraising. 8 items clothing / fabric to textile recycling, 5 bush / tree trimmings, 8 wooden items, 2 bags sawdust and 10 pencils to wood waste and 19 items to misc recycling skips at tip. 1 Ikea cube (zip broken), broken combi padlock, plastic horse, 2 ID card holders, empty glass candle and 20 misc items to bin / tip. Wheelie bin full of tree and bush trimmings decluttered. 129 out of date work docs, 2 broken box files, 8 paper wallets, 16 pamphlets / magazines / booklets, 1 school exercise book, 4 cardboards boxes, 3 bags of tetra packs and 3 bags tinfoil to recycling at home or at tip. 6 bags soft plastics to supermarket recycling. Biscuit mix which had gone hard in the fridge into food waste and uu frozen apple x 2, frozen plums and crumble mix from fridge into a crumble. Uu 1 bottle raspberry vodka (leftover from son’s 18th Birthday party, he’s now 19) and bottle creamy Disarano (from Xmas), emptied old pudding rice into rice pudding, uu bottle vodka and frozen berries to make elderberry vodka, uu tub frozen apple in porridge / yoghurt, uu red cabbage lurking in fridge by cooking with raisin, apple, brown sugar. 2 bottle homemade bramble gin given away. Electronic decluttering while on holiday- 200 photos deleted to Aug 09 (count as 2) and closed 23 iphone safari windows having saved info I wanted to keep. Sorted out 2 x Ikea storage cubes and a pot of bits and bobs, most items out to cs, recycled or binned, the remaining few put away where they belong, and also emptied tin full of 2019/20 receipts into bin. Completed 161 tods / frogs / froglets / tadpoles, including 2 large work toads. Total 558 – 2 (see below) = 3918 / 4046
Read a book every other week – It starts with us – book read -total 19/26. Falling behind on this, didn’t even read a book on holiday! Hopefully my next holiday will be more restful.
Mend one item per week – damaged lining removed from apron, wellies and boots cleaned, duck toy cleaned of sticky stuff and grime, batteries replaced in nightlight (all so they could go to the cs instead of the tip) -total 39/52
Weight goal of losing 24kg – not been brave enough to weigh myself since returning from holiday!
One significant home maintenance or improvement job per month - total 12 (of my wish list of 20) – Driveway has been dug up, concrete all gone, stone chippings laid, just waiting for the final finishing off to be done! But the lounge has moved backwards – I touched up some marks on the walls with (what I thought was) the matching paint, only to find now its dry its quite a bit darker! So The whole room now needs repainting! Oh dear! But on the bright side, it is a good reason to change the colour scheme in there to better match my much loved curtains that I’ve moved with me since 5 houses ago!
Sort out and use up old toiletries and excess cleaning products or donate / dispose of so only one of each – 2 travel size toiletry items uu from stash.
Operate a 1 in 1 out rule for clothes, books and ornaments, excess items in = a negative number – So I slipped a bit as my niece offered me a lovely Emma Bridgewater teapot and sugar bowl as she was having a clear out, and I couldn’t resist, so -2 this time.
Try mending or buying secondhand before buying anything expensive as new – nothing to report.
Sending hugs to everyone, and thank you for all keeping me going on my decluttering journey.
Love H x

And all the sorted out bits are gone 🥳🥳 having clear floor space really is inspiring!
7 bags to charity, and upstairs is looking much clearer. Managed to have a thorough clean and tidy, although only got half way up cleaning the walls on the stairs before taking a break, so that will be finished at some point. Likely to need repainting, but that may be a Christmas break job.
I am absolutely loving the cat pictures, and will have a go at posting my two kitties as well.
Maintenance is going well, using up candles/toiletries so I don't get a ridiculous surplus like I have in the past and resisting buying more when I have a stock.
Operation eat through condiments is going well, although more have been bought these are standard ketchup etc. which get used regularly. Given how expensive they have gotten I need to take advantage of sales, and I now have space where it used to be random condiments which would be used once.17 -
This is Cloud and Tifa (bet you can't guess which is Cloud!)
Cloud is fully on board with decluttering, and assists by clearing off surfaces, whether you want him to or not.24 -
Looks like some catitude! Love the cst pics and also hearing how people are finding their home clearer and easier to find things and look after.
Sorry to hear life difficult for some and hope you pop into the tlc carriage.18
