I haven't done any decluttering in a while.
It has been so hot here at the weekend as we were walking all over the place as our bathroom was having some work done on it. I did over 20,000 steps on Saturday and over 16,000 on Sunday which was a lot in this heat.
He has to come back later this week to tidy up and finish off a couple of things as our bathroom sink still isn't working!
I have just made up a bag for the charity shop, just clothing. I went through my wardrobe again and tried all my skirts on and I have about 5 things to go today.
All the rubbish and recycling are to be put out tonight as we have loads of cardboard. Our friend is taking some of our rubbish from our house to a skip as he has one at his house at the moment which is handy.
I decluttered under my kitchen sink today as well.17

Made some progress in the first ROD - managed to get to a suitcase - been there.....? I will put it out on the drive when I have emptied it. Spoke to Mr F about the suitcase - he doesn't remember it - hope that holds true for all the other stuff that I have decluttered.
Will be working at SA tomorrow - may pop into town after the lunch - old medications to return to Chemist. I will also have some stuff for the charity shop. If necessary - I will pop to the shopping centre for more plastic containers.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Not much progress today as I'm too busy at work. I have been identifying all the Lego pieces for the set DS wants to get rid of, but I think I'll need his help to find the rest as I'm no longer sure where to look. I packaged up the jewellery I decided to get rid of from the bedroom and it's ready to post next time I pass a postbox and I got DH to take the stamps and envelopes to DS's school to donate as they've been hanging around his study for an age.I tried on the jeans and concluded the ones I like the least are the ones I am currently wearing. So on that logic I should mend the two I have and charity the current ones. I will see how the sewing turns out first though. I am still considering a few other clothes bits in the wardrobe if I can get rid of anything else. It is not an exact science as I have multiple trousers on a single hanger and not everything hangs up, but I have now got 18 free hangers and have 42 left. Weirdly that's exactly 30% gone.15,647 - box (used for Buy Nothing)

Loving all the photos over the last couple of weeks of gardens and before/after areas, muddy your garden looks like mine: dragons, odd little creatures, stone cricketers and gnomes peeping out all over 😀 lol. Nap! I've got the dragon sleeping with his tail over his snout plus his pal who is sleeping holding his tail in his mouth 😴 💘 but also loving your bronze coloured one and the other little guys. Unfortunately our free flowers (weeds) are now completely hiding a large grumpy troll face which a few weeks ago looked a fabulous little corner of the grass/flowerbed. If it ever gets below 35 I might go out and do a little gardening however I'm sure weeds will snap rather than come up as the ground must be hard. Weve now had 4 evenings in a row where it has peaked at 38 at our back door! Phew. And we thought buying a North facing back garden would mean it was cold all year ! Im scottish and we are use to sun factor anorak in 'summertime', can't cope with this heat
Hugs if you want a hot sticky one

About to have my second lot of ice cream today.
Taken a painkiller for my back - DGS J is at work today and I really need to crack on in this ROD.
Just listed 3 items on Freegle.
I am thinking that this is the worst area to declutter so far.
 I took before photos - so embarassing.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

@daisy_1571 - some areas of my garden are probably self seeded weeds but if they look nice I just leave them - the insects like them. Too hot to do anything much - I nearly went out but no real need and I have to be out the rest of the week.
887 First pile of garden waste collected up into large plastic bags which will make it easier to put in car - probably tomorrow afternoon's job.2025 Decluttering Campaign 1013/2025 🏅🏅🏅🏅🏅(🏅🏅🏅) 🌟🌟

It's hard for an orthodontist to give a proper answer to a question like that. First off, he's not likely the one to do the operation, that would be an oral maxillofacial surgeon. And there's all sorts of things that may or may not happen with surgery or without for that matter. It's like asking what colour clothing your daughter will be wearing in ten years time. They should be able to talk about the way the teeth might wear down (likely unevenly) or how an off bite could affect the joint of the jaw (possible locking or arthritis) but nothing will be for certain.Siebrie said:I decluttered an orthodontist appointment with dd1. The dentist had concluded she had a small overbite and suggested a second opinion on the severity and possible correction. The orthodontist agreed with the very small overbite, but told us the problem was the lower jaw, that it was hardly there, that dd1 would need a jaw operation to move the chin forward, and then would still need both lower as well as upper correctors. He couldn't give a proper answer to my question if the current situation would grow worse, and if it would impede her chewing and biting later on in life.We have 24 months to think; but I think we won't 'correct' anything. She has a chin, and an absolutely gorgeous smile.
I did have surgery like that - granted 40 years ago now (wow, that's a shock!) - and while my bite is better than it would have been I still grind my teeth and crack my molars as a result. I also lost feeling in my lower lip - this isn't much of an issue (I have occasionally drooled my soup a tad.....) and can still whistle and I'm certain I could still play flute as badly as I could before. It's the loss of feeling that prevented a long ago friend from getting similar surgery as she was a serious french horn player and didn't want to risk damage which was understandable.

Evening. Yesterday I felt really guilty at watching DH digging the garden in 28° temps again so decided I'd do a bit in the bedroom. Thought we were calling police to dig it at one point when he started pulling up clothes but it was just a bag that had been burried (those in the house before us buried everything, including glass windows, old cooker and a whole toilet!)
I stripped the bedding, washed and back on and sorted through a box that had come out of the girls room. The only thing kept was DD1s leavers book from year 11. 52 items (hair scrunchies, phone earphones, old leaky perfumes that had covered everything...) not counting yet as tge bag is still upstairs. Then looked at our spare bedding sat on the side as the drawers are jam packed full with bedding we've probably not used in years. So pulled 1 drawer our and I've started washing it to see what can go and give anything staying a freshen up.
Today while DH was still digging I've cleaned some of the kitchen and then remembered DD3 complaining about the cereal cupboard being full of cobwebs and spiders. I'd ignored her as hadn't done it that long ago and thought she was exaggerating. She definitely wasn't! I think the oats bag at the back was possibly covered in old egg sacks and it was thick with cobwebs 🤢. All cereal has gone in the bin, cupboard hoovered and scrubbed.
Just waiting for dinner now as forgot to put the pork in the slow cooker this morning.

It's really hot here so OH is outside watering the very small garden, but at least the washing we are doing is drying quickly at the moment!Declutter 2025 in 2025 0/202515
