Great idea @Mrs_Salad_Dodger! Best to keep my options open where to send the little 🐒.
We have an inset day here so we are going to the zoo, it is cheaper than last week as they have variable prices (holidays and weekends more expensive) So putting my mse head on and saved the planned excursion for today. Should be less busy too and only a 45 minute drive 😀. We went once during the summer holiday and it was so busy and hard work!2024 decluttering Campaign

Quiet day here yesterday as no-one except me got up until late morning. Rather overcast and same again this morning. Children had a chill-out day and did some cooking with DS2. I spent time on computer but wary until new glasses arrive.
841 Letter V finished in review of family history stuff.
842 Box of old postcards sorted - a few of interest scanned in and filed but the others put in small bags for CS. Empty box from the 9 deferred decisions boxes. That's 1/9 done.
843 Quick check through folders on computer and noticed some Family history stuff labelled 'miscellaneous to sort' - must have parked them there last year and not saved properly when 1921 census first came on line. All sorted and filed now - took about 3 hours though.
844 Bag of plastics to Co-op - DS took as he calls in for a coffee on his way to work
845 Some weeding and trimming in garden
846 DS2 and DGD4 used up ingredients from garden and kitchen to make rhubarb crumble and brownies.
Right off to school with small people - back here Tuesday afternoon for the rest of week.2025 Decluttering Campaign 879/2025 🏅🏅🏅🏅(🏅🏅) 🌟🌟

Thinking about you Mrs SD ♥
This thread is so unjudgemental - it's lovely. 😘
Apart from the trickle of books, and the constant flow out of daily detritus and recycling, all the decluttering action is in my head at the moment. I have to think it before I do it. A little (lot) less cognition and a little (lot) more action is required.

Also think of you and your family today @Mrs_Salad_Dodger
Spent a lovely night at home on Friday in my own bed and then straight back to the parents on Saturday. Thought dad might be coming home today but looks like he'll be in hospital for most of the week at least. Oh well, yesterday I was umming and ahhing over whether I should enjoy some of the nice weather and make a start on clearing the weeds in their garden or if I should tackle more jobs in the house. The house won out in the end because as DH said, it will make the most impact on my folks.
So I started blitzing the living room. Picked a corner, and took everything out, dusted as best I could, disposed of the obvious rubbish and then put things that they need to decide on in a cupboard like vases and decorative bowls. Slowly worked my way around the first half of the living room until I hit where the majority of my dad's stuff was and had to stop. Then tried to put away glasses in one of their display cabinets and found in the bottom of it, what seemed like all of my notes from college. I thought these had been burnt / disposed of when I finished, but no, just something else that they held on to. So after a visit to the hospital to see dad, I spent the evening in front of the tv going through the massive pile, sorting stuff for shredding and the rest for recycling.
1 bag into general waste, 4 bags into their recycling bin and another bag of paper to drop off at the recycling bank when I go to get petrol later as it would make the bin way too heavy. Another crate of books to take to Oxfam when I head back home next so new total is 18 / 100.Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 201715 -
MrsSD - thinking of you today.
My SA officer is bravely taking his Dad's funeral service at the end of June.
Tried to phone Mr F but his phone was off - so I rang the ward and a nurse said that he was asleep. There is a ward round this morning so I may get some info about how long they think he will be there.
Having a break from cleaning the bathroom - gosh - it was mucky.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

I spent the weekend at Mum's, sorting through the paperwork. We were able to throw out about half the pile, because they were about things in the past, or things that had already happened and were dealt with. There is a small pile still left 'to sort', and a small pile 'sorted, but awaiting decision or action'.Went through my parents' joint email account and showed Mum how to unsubscribe and delete
And how to be rigorous about it. She wanted to keep all the emails with links to the church's services on youtube, but I managed to persuade her to delete those, too, as soon as she watched the service.
DD1 taught her how to WhatsApp and how to email. We put a copy of the WhatsApp from her phone on the ipad, so she has a larger screen to read and type, and to videocall. It's not perfect, because ads take up half the space, but for videocalling it's better.We brought home 2 bags of my Dad's clothes, and 2 trestles (from the 6 my Dad used for his toy train rail parcours).Are you wombling, too, in '22? € 58,96 = £ 52.09Wombling in Restrictive Times (2021) € 2.138,82 = £ 1,813.15Wombabeluba 2020! € 453,22 = £ 403.842019's wi-wa-wombles € 2.244,20 = £ 1,909.46Wombling to wealth 2018 € 972,97 = £ 879.54Still a womble 2017 #25 € 7.116,68 = £ 6,309.50Wombling Free 2016 #2 € 3.484,31 = £ 3,104.5916
