Like you, Mrs and Mr SD, we spent the Bank holiday weekend in the garage. Mr RiF has been wanting another bookcase in the Library for some time. I have resisted. But I suggested a deal. We have, now had, two sets of shelves in the garage with mostly junk on them . I said the by throwing out the junk we could possibly relocate a set of shelves to the library but I was doubtful as they were very dirty. He was off like a shot- no problem- he would clear them, clean them and do all the necessary. Win, win.Out
11 tins of paint to CS all unopened.
3 tins to tip.
6 jars of unknown toxic? Stuff to tip
1 bag polystyrene beads to tip for recycling
3 metal plant pots for recycling
1 bag of rubbish
I box of small junk to bin
Total = 26 +210=236/365
O course there is still more stuff on the remaining shelves where more room needs to be found for the keeping stuff, like our mammoth collection of steel wool. The CS folk were delighted with the paint as it is now very expensive . The tins were bought for projects that we never got round to. A familiar tale……
I am hoping that some books may also go as we get them all onto the new shelves.
Hugs for you all and keep safe everyone.14 -
2 more get ups!!!!! And I think it’s finally sinking in how much I actually do…..with a certain person……tough.Dog1 had her second operation today and all went well although she is disgusted at the cone again. My legs are already wincing!
No news on dad yet and I don’t think my comment of “well if you think bank holidays don’t apply to you then pay privately” went down very well….he was moaning about how long his test results are taking.
I have a banging headache so after decluttering a huge headache tablet am in bed having dog cwtches 😘⭐️⭐️⭐️🥇🥇🥇 2024 decluttering

Just got back, am somewhat tired after bus journey back from London: not helped by another bus trying to remove the emergency door 12 minutes from the city where I live... All was OK, it was a graze rather than anything major but obviously they had to have discussions.

Avoiding some email frogs which are causing me anxiety so off to do them and posting here to help ensure I do them, some a few weeks owing !
Back to say 3 email frogs done and feel better that moving forward and avoided distracting myself with comfort snacks 70316 -
I spent today slowly tidying the understairs cupboard so my new Shark can live in there along with the overflow stores and bulk buy cat food. Several old mixers went down the sink (with no fizz 😳), 2 bottles of a/f sparkling stuff were donated to an upcoming charity tombola and the little used plastic drawer set came out to make more space. I am now knackered & will pop along to the TLC carriage tomorrow for a rest.
I think the plastic drawers will be shed-bound, but there needs to be some reorganisation in there when I gave the energy, stamina and arm mobility/stretch to do so!2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Hi all, went back to OHs house today to do some more work in the garden. I only managed 2 big bags today but collected together a load of metal rods that OHs dad used to mark where he had planted things so they weren't dug up accidentally. The problem with this is they have gone rusty and when I am bending down to weed etc they are at eye level. Accidents waiting to happen so out they all came and they went to the tip with the garden waste and a few broken bird feeders etc that I found lurking in the undergrowth. On the way home I called in to c0stc0 and got a big box of washing powder and a big bottle of fabric conditioner, we had run out of both
. Sorted my post and the Kitchen and bedroom recycling emptied. OH was out for tea so I had fratata, new potatoes and carotts, all things OH has an aversion to but I like
. After tea I checked my emails and permanently deleted 100. I have taken some pictures of the garden which I will try to post from my phone.
Hugs to everyone who would like one

This is the "flower bed", please note the 5ft stinging nettles
This is one of the bags filled, loppers for size comparison.
This is the old apple tree covered in wisteria which is beautiful but was making a bid for world domination by heading over the shed
And finally this is what is next when I get to the apple tree
There are 2 greenhouses, a veg plot and another "lawn" through here. I can't even see the first greenhouse for brambles. I think it's going to be a long job. On the bright side OH has said the shed needs painting and I have found a really lovely dark red rose which OH has said I can have. That will have to wait until I get some time to sort my garden16 -
1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks to include MMiM - do this before I go to bed
2. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ I have an acronym - I.R.I.S. being Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off
3. Implement a new sleep/wake up regime - start going to bed earlier (target before 2:00 a.m.) get up earlier (target by 9:00 a.m.)
4. Deal with ‘Urgent’ daily mail immediately & the rest at the weekend
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. If I spot a mini task deal with it immediately e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
7. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Dinner was all from the freezer - breadcrumbed chicken pieces, oven chips & frozen peas. Gradually getting some wiggle room 😉 Wudupa. I have just had a 90 minute bath - it was lovely ☺️ Whilst I dry off I will try to catch up a bit 😉
1389 - 1388 Kitchen recycling, drinks cans - recycled

Floss - thanks for the tip.
Didn't get up until 6.30 - washing machine is on.
We still have the chilly wind off the sea keeping it cool here.
I have my shower head soaking in vinegar so will sort that out after breakfast.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Thank you for the gold star @Mrs_Salad_Dodger!
Yes I was absolutely worn out, thankfully dh drove down and visited his dad with the dc and he drove back too. We have been keeping a tally and overall 274 binbags of stuff from mum and dad's bedroom: roughly 100 to cs and the rest was stuff that was beyond saving/damaged. 😔 When we cleared the front room, there were about 200 bags of things, 180 of them went to tip/rubbish collection 20 to cs, 8 units removed to others and a load of music equipment that we need to sort through still and value for the estate. It is an absolute mammoth task and it is a small 3 bed terraced house, so I have no idea how they fitted everything in! Dd is better today, and the dc have loved new craft materials so a win win!
So JJiJ I am going to aim for 25 🐸 and 30 bags of junk gone 😃. Have a lovely day today, I am 'entertaining' but would rather crawl back to bed.... think Monday is catching up on me, still only 14 hours until bedtime.....🤣
