Hi all, well today I only got a few things done that were on my list but not stressing about it. 2 loads of washing sorted, decided a few towels could do with a wash along with some of OHs clothes that were lurking on the bedroom floor
. I wanted to give the garden gate a coat of paint but thought I had better finish the blanket first or I would probably have to have another shower to get the paint off before I touched the white yarn
. Pleased to say it is finished just in time as he arrived by c section at 2.45 this morning. I will take a photo tomorrow before I wrap it, ( the blanket not the baby
). I think OH will be visiting in the next few days after they have been let home from the hospital so it can be delivered then.
Then I had a rummage around the conservatory looking for the other jam jars as a friend of ln makes lovely jam which she sells for a charity and was needing some. I had a sort through and put together 12 nice jars. By the time I had got that finished I was running out of time to paint the gate as I had ordered a 2g2g box which needed collecting after 5 so I just had a quick coffee over the fence, handed over the jars and headed out to the sm. Nice box of veg and then did a small shop. All put away with plans to deal with the stuff probably tomorrow. I did consider going out to do the gate after tea but it didn't happen. OH had a couple of large parcels delivered today, mainly gifts for the new baby, so I broke up the boxes and they went straight into the recycling bin
. This is major progress for me, I do tend to keep boxes for Justin
@Moorviews, yes I make sure any work I do in OHs garden is appreciated. The problem is that it's a large garden which OHs father had let go a bit and then when he passed mum was not able to tackle. OHs sister used to help by spending a day every week doing it but when Mum passed that stopped and then covid came so it became a total mess, and with OHs health issues I am really the only 1 vaguely fit enough to do it. I am slowly working on OH to actually pay someone to come in and deal with it
@crazy_cat_lady congratulations to ds passing, maybe he can do some running around for you now he can drive
@Muddy_Walker, hugs, hang in there, only a few days left with tb.
Hugs to everyone who would like one
726 + 727 2loads of washing sorted
728 - 739 nice jars passed on
740 + 741 big boxes binned
Head full of maybe plans for tomorrow. Take care everyone

I'm scraping the barrel really for decluttering to report, but I have washed a bedspread which has been sat in my big washing bin for ages. Had to wash it in the bath which was exhausting and it took ages to drip dry but it's done now. Not sure if I'll keep it or donate it as I don't want that hassle again. Anyway I've got my big bin back in use which is something.
on your suggestion Mrs SD I've found a charity shop off my usual route which sells stuff cheaper and seems to have better turnover so my next bag is going there.I need to move out in a couple of years and I intend to be down to one chair a cup and a plate by thenMagnolia Stellata15 -
Oh I forgot, I sorted 6 houseplants into pots with new compost and put the old pots in the recycling and the used compost on the garden. They look really cute all tidy and potted up.Magnolia Stellata14

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks to include MMiM - do this before I go to bed
2. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ I have an acronym - I.R.I.S. being Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off
3. Implement a new sleep/wake up regime - start going to bed earlier (target before 2:00 a.m.) get up earlier (target by 9:00 a.m.)
4. Deal with ‘Urgent’ daily mail immediately & the rest at the weekend
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. If I spot a mini task deal with it immediately e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
7. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Quick post before going to bed 😉 Of course I am wide awake but I am almost positive that I will be asleep within a few minutes of my head touching the pillow 🤞
Excellent work Liverpool_Anne 👏 What a busy Sunday 🤩 & well done on sticking to your guns & keeping the lawnmower at your home 🙂 albeit in a safer place where you won’t stub your toes 😉Thanks for the information about Covid - it inspired me to investigate the rate of re-infection just for my peace of mind 👏 We have been extremely lucky & so far have avoided Covid in our house - long may that continue 🤞
Florenceem, fingers crossed that MrF is clear of Covid & his transfer to rehab is back on the cards 🤞
TC77, I agree with you that the old style of filing cabinet with hanging files is/was so much more user friendly 🙂 Good luck with your room 🍀 Remember to celebrate all your decluttering victories - every folder out, every bag of clothing packed away tidily is a decluttering win 👏
Florenceem, I try to avoid looking too closely at old paintwork 😉 I have noticed your numbers have risen again to 6922/2023 so one more Gold Star ⭐️ is on its way 😊
Excellent decluttering GrannyKate 👏 especially dealing with email frogs 👏 I see another vote for old style filing cabinets 😊
Welcome aboard the EDT leftatthetrafficlights 👋 Lovely to see a new face 🙂 Of course you can join us 🙂 I think many of us are ‘minimalists at heart’ but like you we procrastinate or should that be ‘defer decisions’ 😂 Excellent work in the garden - a great start to your decluttering journey 👏 A comprehensive list of your targets for the year - many of us do love a list 😊 Helps to clarify our thoughts & give us great satisfaction when a task is completed 👏 Nothing wrong with a long post - mine are nearly always just as long, sometimes longer 😉 So welcome again to our generally happy band of declutterers aka ‘declutterati’ & I for one am looking forward to celebrating your successes 😊
Brie, Great idea for Florenceem to take a test into the hospital for MrF 👏
Excellent decluttering over the weekend, allie23 👏 You are on a roll 😊
Florenceem, hope it isn’t too cold by the sea 🤞Nighttime temperatures have dropped considerably over the last couple days 😬

On the last day of May and Mr F has spent it in hospital.
Had a half hour lie in this morning but up and washing is on. No ironing to do this morning as yesterday I washed cardigans which didn't go out on the frame in the garden - so not quite dry.
Plan to finish the bathroom - declutter and deep clean - today.
I have someone coming to collect paperwork and a Freegler collecting then I want to pop out to collect my parcel from the post office and get some shopping.

Morning all. Study to clean/sort today so plan to empty all the loose things out into dining room before I go to opticians. Old glasses in bag in case I need to leave these new ones behind at opticians.
798 Instruction manual box had fallen apart (recycled) so sorted and refiled in filing cabinet where I had some space
799 Various old instruction manuals and receipts recycled
800 Top filing drawer culled and selection of paper to recycling or shredding
801 Three plastic storage boxes retrieved from just inside garage where they live and cleaned out and sorted - small plastic pots, tubs for freezing soup and gravy etc, picnic items.
802 Nice but too small picnic tablecloth and serviettes in CS bag - used about twice and had 15 years plus. Justin had kept it
803 Two very small plastic tubs in CS bag
804 Cake boards reduced to manageable number and 4 shop bought cake ones in recycling. With all the catering and celebration cakes my mother made I have a mind set that says reuse boards and decorations if possible. When the grandchildren make and take home their chocolate logs at Christmas they always know to return the decorations and boards if possible for next year.
One discarded plastic lid retrieved from bin as I found its partner (the box of shoe polish and brushes) in the garage - the lid had been awol for some time. I also found another lidless pot so that went in bin as a swop.
Right time for a shower and breakfast.2023 Decluttering Campaign 1349/2023 🏅🏅🏅🏅🏅⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Hi
Florenceem I had to smile when you said you wanted the front garden done for Mr F when he comes home as a surprise. Every thing you have done so far will be a surprise and hopefully a welcome one that lifts a weight from his shoulders. Xx❤️
My Mum phoned yesterday wanting some yellow wool to finish a blanket she is knitting for baby due August. I went mining in the pantry of doom for my wool box. No luck but I carried on and emptied one half of the pantry out. I reduced my diy stuff into one box. There are shelves at the back of the boxes that will be gone through in the not to distant future. Craft stuff in there ditto.Today’s task is to offer a lot of diy stuff/ paint on a thrift site. I am hanging up my decorating paintbrushes for good. I may do furniture restoration but my days of hanging paper and painting are done.I also need to make up the spare bed. DS coming for a couple of nights. We get on so well, I am looking forward to it. I have an exciting but daunting project I want to discuss with him. Not the publishing of his children’s stories, an idea of my own. The children’s stories I am shelving for now. There are two children characters in his stories and I am waiting to see if I can change the names to the names of DSs children. One due August.Better stop talking about it and get on with it.Vx:14 -
I am not happy - they are planning to move Mr F today - there is a place that will take him without a negative test result - nearly 50 miles from here and it doesn't have a train station!
That will do him a lot of good - getting no visitors.Decluttering Target 2023: Monthly Challenge Day 3 - 2/6 10316/2023 NSD 178/365 2023 Craft Makes - 241 Craft Spends £434.77/£400 Books read - 2023 - 37 GC - £100/£100 August GC September - £60.74/£100 GC October - £11.60/£10012 -
Thank you for the support and the medals @Mrs_Salad_Dodger.
I have been working since 7am on the house tidying. I have also managed to fit some decluttering in too. Ds room cleaned top to bottom, drawers run through and some jumpers and t shirts that are stained have been put in rag bag for cs. I have ordered a chest of drawers for him from arg0s using the loneybfrom selling my mums jewellery. He will need more space and I am keen to have a room completed and I figured my mum wouldn't mind if I have one less headache! Just need to get him a tuff tub for his toys (only thing i have found that my dcs cannot destroy. So June will be the focus for completing ds room in its entirety.
I have also cleaned dds room top to bottom and a little bit of decluttering of clothes too- stuff that wasn't worn for winter last year and will not fit for this year. I need to order them some chest of drawers each (currently sharing a tallboy) as they will need more space but want to see how ds one looks to see if suitable. About to start on living room but enjoying a hot chocolate and hot cross bun first 😋2023 Decluttering Campaign
