Up since 5.30 - washing and ironing done.
In a minute I am going to pop to SA with a bag of fabric/clothes recycling and an old pair of trainers.
I need to stay home this morning until someone comes to collect paperwork.
I am going into town to get some cash and post a letter plus visit Mr F's bank. Hopefully they will let me use his account to pay some bills. I then plan to get a bus to the shopping centre as I want to buy a new shower mat and some bath mats.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Morning, had a very successful day yesterday. We have managed to almost clear my mum and dad's bedroom which was a mammoth undertaking. Approx 40 bin bags of rubbish, the same for cs (they are collecting today) and a few treasured possessions found. I took 3 bags of paper work to sort through and 2 have been done and shredded, will do the last one tonight. Did aunts garden (one side of it) and she was very happy with the outcome. I will be heading down in a few weeks to finish off the bedrooms and then tackle the ground floor as the top floor will be completed! We still have a loft, conservatory, garden (which has not had attention for approx 15 years.... you can imagine what that looks like 😲) and multiple sheds to clear but that will be tackled after we have all had our summer holidays.
2nd dd woke up feeling poorly so we are shelving our plans for the day (which was visiting some historical places around town) and popping to hobbycraft because she wants to make 🦄 ....😂... oh to be 4! Will try to do mini declutters this week as all dcs are on school hols, starting to see a benefit to clearing stuff out but I think my tolerance is decreasing so still feels like an epic amount.

Welcome @leftatthetrafficlights and good luck in achieving your list.@Dfw38 - Well done for cracking on through a huge task. I hope the little person is not too unwell and that you still have a fun day. I understand what you mean about tolerance decreasing and am starting to notice this in myself too.@Liverpool_Anne - you have been so busy that I am not surprised you were exhausted! I hope your efforts are appreciated.@weenancyinAmerica - I always hope that you will have a break from firefighting and drama but that seems impossible with the people that you have around you! Good luck with your surgery and recovery. I hope everyone realises that they can’t expect as much of you while you recover.
Thank you for the medal Mrs SD!
I finally got through the shed contents but it took a day longer than I hoped. A full carload went to the recycling centre and there are three full bags for life of nice sparkling clean items for the CS. I have kept less than 20% of the original contents and will reduce it down more once I see how much I actually use things. I would never have yanked everything out in one go like that (it overwhelms me) but Mr MV needed the shed empty for the repairs. He took all the old rotten wood away yesterday and plans to get the shed finished today.I washed all my summer shoes and dried them in the sunshine. Also, the throws off the sofas. I need to make a start on getting the curtains washed too while we have the weather for it.16 -
@GrannyKate OOH never knew of Black Magic coming in a tin. Every day is a school day.
I love the hankies and their pouch. I have a bit of a penchant for handkerchiefs and I have become renowned at work for dishing them out when colleagues have a bit of a melt down and need to go outside for a "chat". I have started using them instead of buying tissues. I use DH's if I get a cold and mine can't handle it

DD had a birthday yesterday DBil had his on saturady and friday was comic con in london, which was great fun, but very busy!Working today, but hoping to get some work done in the garden here and there, there is so much to do and my lady helper is great and motivating me to crack on to. However there is still a ton of stuff to do in the house which I am doing a good job of ignoring!!!Plius i have several frog to be tackled TODAY, cant be put off any more!Love to everyoneFLowers x♥️ ♥️ ♥️🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸Decluttering 2025 So far 403 / 2025

Up and ready to get going early today. Dishwasher repair man coming 10.30-1.30 but said I am in all day - it is working fine but needs cracked fascia replaced. Everything under extended warranty.
A couple of things to put away in bathroom so I emptied cupboards out, wiped and put things back culling along the way. They are fitted silly size cupboards so none big enough for bath towels. I did have very quick clean round last night as DS2 said he might bring friend back but that didn't happen. Floors washed and swept which needed to happen anyway. @2Scratters - late DH always used white linen hankies right up to his death. I remember buying Black Magic for my mother - these tins came from MIL's 'Egypt' suitcase so probably bought there. They were there with army from about 1949 to 1955 ish although DH and MIL evacuated to Italy when Suez crisis hotted up. There is also a sugared almonds box with an Egyptian address. Everyone used these empty tins from chocolate, toffees, tobacco etc for buttons and screws so I guess you see lots in antique shops from house clearances. I still have buttons in small tins from 50s era.
764 Quick kitchen clean including floor - stuff tidied away
765 Bathroom clean including inside cupboards and mirrors
766-772 OOD medicines and ointments disposed of - packaging recycled where possible
773 Plastic container with no lid binned
774 Random tat binned
775 Various items including manicure set, tweezers, foot care things - found in various places and all returned to my bathroom where they should be
776-778 Three cardboard boxes to recycling (I was saving them for posting items but realise DS2 has empty boxes in his van everyday from his work)
Now to decide between utility room and study - both in dire need to action. Then there are those 9 boxes of frogs on dining room table.2025 Decluttering Campaign 648/2025 🏅🏅🏅🏅(🏅🏅) 🌟🌟

Leftatthetrafficlights, Hi. You have already put a lot of thought into your goals, I think having a clear plan is half the battle. Not much of ours ousted over the past few days. Bit by bit to the rescue once more. We tried to drop off things at the charity shop that came from mil’s loft. They refused some saying they were too big. Bbb called yesterday and left with a car full once again.Mil’s just has a bit more in the garage to clear. Quell surprise, speakers and electrical gubbins. My step daughter is moving in there at the end of June. House not garage 🤣We had another visitor yesterday. A friend of Mr V who is a decorator. He is coming to stay while we go on holiday in September. First week he will decorate the house, second he will go walking. Win win. I must write a local guide for him, best walks, best chippy etc. He isn’t familiar with our corner of the world. It is lovely here, no tourists unlike places just a few miles away. He was raving about his drive here and he and Mr V had a walk down the canal. I forget how it must be to fresh eyes.
My back is better as improved not cured iyswim🤣 so plenty of jobs to do. One frog eaten, contacted the vets about cats flea drops. Only taken 2 months. Weight loss is happening again after a stall when I was resting my back.
Sending good wishes for your operation weenancy.Vx:16 -
Good morning Busy Bees! Think I had 6 pages to catch up on this morning.
Friday I went through DD3s wardrobe as she was the last for a 'good go through' and she was complaining she had no clothes for a party. 61 items removed that we knew wouldn't fit. She has very few bits left and she still needs to try those. Told her to stop growing and we wouldn't have a problem, she's shot up to 5' 6 in the last few weeks.
Saturday we caught the bus in to town to try and find her some clothes but nothing really took her fancy (she lives in joggers, won't wear denim). I'd ordered some new clothes as I'd thrown mine out as didn't wear/too small and they didn't arrive in time for my nephews 18th party so went in jeans and tshirt 😂
Clothes arrived 9.30 Sunday morning! Need to sort what I'm now keeping and send rest back.
Spent tge day running DD1 about getting things ready for her new pup. DH took her to collect him in the afternoon and then managed an hour on the garden.
Monday we went to dd1 to put Mesh on her gate as the pup can get through the bars. Pup is gorgeous. Afternoon was spent on our garden and putting the shopping delivery away.
DD3 had sent me a picture of the 'enormous wasp' in her room the other day so I went and took a picture from the same angle and it looks a lot better. DD2 says it just looks like we can't even keep grass alive 🤣 our garden was just one slope from the house to the back fence and DH has (very!) slowly been trying to put usable levels in so frass will be laid once it's done.
Then DGD other grandma messaged me to ask if she could add DGDs side to the family tree and I got carried away with that for hours.
Today will be an hour or 2 on the garden before DD2 goes to dance. Hope you're all enjoying the sunshine. Sorry for the huge essay.
