DSis got back about 17:30 & has bought some Southern fried chicken for dinner which will be accompanied by chips & baked beans. Just before 18:00 & the heavens have opened - fortunately DSis had brought her washing in 😮💨 The thunder is quite close & rather loud 😱 Rained heavily for at least an hour. DSis & I are currently watching a new series ‘The Swarm’ - started very slowly but the last 10 minutes of Episode 1 & whole of Episode 2 picked up so really looking forward to next episodes 🙂 Wudupa.

Excellent decluttering foxandflowers 👏 I was curious about the Urban Decay liquid eyeliners so did a bit of investigating. Having been discontinued they are now back - no Smog but a colour called Oil Slick 😉 Good luck with your jewellery decluttering 🍀 Reading your post you were describing me - I also have lots of jewellery but only wear my engagement, wedding & eternity rings & my first ever pair of earrings which are almost 60 years old 😉 Although I am not sure that I am brave enough to tackle my jewellery just yet 🤔 Yippee to the treasures you have found especially the receipt which will enable you to renew your Swiss passport 😊 Thanks for the explanation of a ‘crow journal’ 👏
Great decluttering Craving_space 👏 I see GrannyKate has answered your question about updating your signature 😊
Excellent decluttering & cleaning GrannyKate 👏 Fingers crossed that the dishwasher can be repaired 🤞
roundtuit, every bit of decluttering helps 👏
Excellent work Florenceem 👏 Shame about the Freegler letting you down but hopefully the next one will pick up on time 🤞 How fortunate that you don’t need to buy a new freezer 🥳
Brie good luck with the birthday cards 🍀
Florenceem, pleased to hear that the Freegler turned albeit later than arranged 🙂 Excellent work with the shredding 👏
Excellent work reclaiming kitchen floor roundtuit 👏 Fingers crossed that the PS3 is in the Wii box 🤞
Florenceem - you have a “magic drive” - items get put out & vanish 😉
Great decluttering florianatwobob 👏 That was a large parcel 😉
Happy Birthday 2Scratters 🎂 Maybe you could just give your DH your last Malteser 😉 Excellent work dealing with mending MMiM 👏 Now that your DH has cleared & cleaned your patio perhaps you can loan him to me to sort mine 🤣
I have just seen the time so I will post this & go to bed 😉 Will catch up on the rest of the cheerleading later today 🤞

MrsSD - my DD was driving home in that storm - I could hear the thunder while she spoke to me.
A Freegler has asked for a shelf - white laminate left over from renovating either the downstairs cloakroom or bathroom.
Putting the washing away this morning - 2 pairs of cream knickers looked more grey so went.
Seems I missed a call from the hospital yesterday - it was on the office phone not my mobile.
Sunny here - must crack on.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Did another tip run yesterday, cleared the piles. Got another booked for today to clear bags of dirt. Need to pop to diy shop for more fence paint and fancy painting a wooden planter me and dh made last year a different colour. Need to move it to different place in garden but it is heavy, even when emptied! Hoping to finish fences this week on the side and then work on back fence next week possibly. I will be painting the front fence next month. Will be glad to have that frog finished!
@Mrs_Salad_Dodger I wish it was a rollnof fivers, if that happened I would be in someone else's cupboards 🤣. Next week I have volunteered myself as a helper for 2x school trips so will be a short week for tackling the never-ending decluttering/cleaning/organising.
I know how you feel @queenjess, it feels like the more I do, the more I have to/find to do. I try to keep it to 'working hours' while still ensuring that ds has some quality fun time (am a sahm) so that evenings and weekends are for fun time for all of us. But it feels like there is very little improvement for the length of time it is taking. I also yearn for a simpler life 😪. I can clear up every day and by the time the dcs are in bed there is no noticeable difference, very disheartened.
I have relatives visiting at the end of the month and the thought of having anyone here fills me with dread. They are lovely people who wouldn't judge but still, would be nice to not have to panic whenever someone visits.2024 decluttering Campaign

Morning xx
Last night I brought down the Wii box - big smile because I knew exactly where it was in RoD1 😊. And.....it was empty. Apart from all the little plastic bags that the components came in. I binned all this detritus. Next I took the Wii et al out of the PS3 box and binned all the packaging bits and bobs from that box too. The Wii console is filthy - DS must have had sticky fingers when handling it or something tut - so the plan is to give it all a good wipe down, put it in the correct box, and return it to DS.
There are 2 more PS boxes in RoD2. So they'll be coming down next....perhaps the elusive PS3 is in one of those 🤔 Watch this space 😊
And I opened the knotted carrier bag of rags I'd pulled out and deposited the contents in a cs bag for rags already on the go. That bag is ready to go to cs now.
So a bit of a detour from my 'clear LR floor' priority. But the kitchen is the second room on my list of priorities. And I may as well tackle all the electrical devices at the same time and send them over to DS. It all needs sorting at some point so 🤷♀️. Not going to beat myself up for wandering off track and I'm giving myself Brownie points for knowing where things are ...and for them being getatable 😊.
Have a good day.
Thinking about you @Floss xx

@QueenJess go easy on yourself working whilst also looking after looking after young children, a house and life is exhausting at times. My house is a mess at the moment and I have Dd 7 plus older stepchildren and I feel overwhelmed so today I'm focusing on just sorting anything laundry related. Anything else is a bonus.
Hope you don't mind me decluttering my feelings, it's though pesky hormones again!! Anxiety and feeling emotional are normal now plus an overwhelming urge to have another baby and regretting that OH and I never had the conversation about me having a second. I'm early 40's so bit late now.I spoke with OH last night about it.
Any words of wisdom/support to help me process this gratefully received. Anyone else ever felt like this?
Off to have some tea and toast and keep plodding.17 -
I have been to the SA bin with 2 more sacks of rubbish - my bin gets emptied tomorrow but is full to the brim.
I have a bag of bags ready to take along to the food bank tomorrow.
I have some marks on my ceramic kitchen sink - tried vanish paste - didn't shift so I tried bar keeper's friend - that removed some but I can still see them. I think I have some Vim somewhere - will try that.
About to tackle my craft room table - awful mess!
Off to visit Mr F this afternoon. People are telling me not to visit everyday - I have only been on Tuesday so far this week - I have a lift arranged for tomorrow. It is 5 weeks on Sunday that Mr F has been in hospital.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Thursday is bright & sunny. DH kindly woke me & made me my first cuppa so I was up & dressed by 10:20 🙂 DH set off @ 10:30 for an appointment with his heart Consultant. He has taken a graph showing the rise in atrial fibrillation episodes (noted by his watch) since the dosage on his medication was increased. The AF never occurs when he is moving/exercising only when he is either sat down or in bed 🤔 The intention was that I meet him after his appointment but I changed my mind so the visit to Hatton Garden will be arranged for another time 😉 The wheelie bin was emptied this morning so now has a new bin liner & I have also put away the vegetables from this weeks Veg Box. I like this weeks box - potatoes, parsnips, peppers, baby spinach, carton of mushrooms, leeks, celeriac & avocados 👏 The cardboard box has been dismantled & is already in the recycling wheelie bin.

QueenJess, you never, ever need to apologise for organising your thoughts on this thread 😊 I think you are being way too hard on yourself & I just wish I could persuade you that you are doing a marvellous job coping with work, raising children & running a home 👏 It does sound like you have identified a couple of ways/methods that might be useful to you going forward so I am sending positive vibes & “success” vibes. Your DS is a little treasure & I love that he is so caring & thoughtful in his offers of help 🥹 Please take heed of vulpix & Floss’s experience & do nothing after 9:00 p.m. 🙏 and NO that doesn’t mean you should get up earlier 😉
Great work Deni_debt-free_dreamer 👏 I think dropping off the Bullworker to your ex’s work place should count as 2 - the item itself & the time taken to rehome it 😉
Lovely supportive post 2Scratters 😊 I love the reminiscing - you & your siblings fighting to lay the table but vanishing when it came to clearing the table 🤣 Am I to assume that clearing the table was synonymous with doing the washing up 😉😅
Lovely supportive post vulpix 😊 & thank you for sharing your life & experience of raising children 👏Thanks also for the praise for gettingthrifty’s succinct summary 🙂 Excellent decluttering 👏 & good luck with the kitchen today 🍀
QueenJess, sending lots of positive vibes that the project you are dealing with comes to a swift conclusion 🙂 I really, really hope that the switch to 4 days is fewer hours & you will not be cramming 5 days work into 4 days 🤞 I was also really pleased to hear that you do have an outlet & are giving yourself some TLC by going to gymnastics every Thursday 😊 Perhaps DH’s list of tasks should include a mention of sharing the mental load…… something along the lines of “please identify a task not on ‘my’ list for you & deal with it” - good luck 🍀 As to your DS, perhaps you can suggest to him that he tidy his room twice a week & go from there 😉 Excellent decluttering as usual 👏
TC77, that was a very late supper last night 😔 Although I can see the benefit of mopping floor so late - as it gives it time to dry before anyone walks on it 😉 Remember decluttering of frogs is just as important as physical decluttering 👏 Thanks for the reminder about To Do lists - I always get more done if I actually look at my lists (rather than just writing them & hiding them) 😂 I am about to make a rather cheeky suggestion so feel free to ignore me 😉…. Could the person you are enlisting to help move DD1’s furniture be persuaded to help you create space in your home by moving/stacking your excess furniture? I am off into hiding now 😅 Good luck with the tricky frogs 🍀
Sorry to hear that you have been so tired Liverpool_Anne 😔 Excellent work getting all your washing & ironing done before your holiday 👏 You are definitely more organised than I am before going away 😉Good luck with the rest of your packing 🍀 & fingers crossed that the caravan owner supplies the bedding 🤞 My DH seems to be the exception to the OH rule about ‘not tidying up after themselves in common use areas’ 😮💨 Good luck renewing the footy season tickets 🍀
A natural place to stop as I have reached the bottom of a page 🙂 DH has just phoned. His appointment was a bit longer than usual as he had an ECG which was then discussed with him. The doctor that he saw will be discussing the results with the Professor i.e. the bigwig & it may be that DH might be put back on the second tablet but at a reduced dosage 😔 DH will be a while as he has decided to get a haircut & I reminded him to go into the drs surgery with ID so he can access his medical records online in future. DSis was up & about earlier but is back in her room 😉 Sadly the sun has gone in & it has clouded over 😞
Hope everyone has a good day 😊

I found the PS3 😊 It was in the PS4 box. Of course it was! So the PS3 was in the PS4 box. The Wii was in the PS3 box. And the Wii box was empty. Hmmmm DS didn't inherit that gene from me 🤣
I've wiped down all the components and put the Wii in the Wii box and the PS3 in the PS3 box. And seeing as the PS4 left the premises when DS did I've torn up the empty box for recycling.
Wii and PS3 have now been put with bag of stuff for DS.
One more electrical device is in RoD2. I believe it is the original PS in its correct box.......but I'm not holding my breath until I've had a look, because, by my calculations, there's still a PS2 lurking somewhere 😳 Don't look at me! I never bought DS a PS in his life. And I don't think I'm responsible for the Wii either, although I may have bought that.
I've finished reading the last (🤞) of the RD Select Editions and added it to the cs pile.
And breathe...
