Morning All, Everyone is doing amazing on their decluttering journey's. It is keeping me motivated, slight blip but I will get back on it very soon.
Yesterday I did 3 loads of washing and hung out. Folded and put away 2 previous loads. Left damp stuff to air on racks with dehumidifier going so will be folded before work.
Had to pick up a FB purchase for OH, had a nice little drive and met the loveliest couple. The lady showed me around their beautiful and huge garden. Helped load it into my car. Just nice people, really perked me up as was struggling yesterday. Sometimes you meet people for a reason/when you need to and I felt that yesterday.
OH's last day today after 10+ years in his role. It's a huge change for him and the new venture will be exciting but emotions and feelings are in overdrive. Will get or make him a small something to mark the occasion.
Tomorrow we are getting out for a practice hike, think we need the fresh air and space to clear our heads and process this week. I always feel better after a walk or exercise.
Better get moving as in the office today.17 -
Morning all xx
Thank you @Dfw3 😊
Last night I switched off the telly and read some magazines - 6 now waiting to go into the recycling box.
Before going to bed I removed the remaining PS box from RoD2 and put it on the landing so that I would remember to bring it down this morning.
I've got an idea of a plan of action for today. Watch this space 😊

PS wiped, put back in box and added to pile for DS
Kitchen:
Tent (packed in its holdall) - dusted and added to pile for DS
Green wellies - dusted and to go to cs as I have a stripey pair with flowers round the top that I like more and actually wear.
That's everything from beneath the kitchen table. They were the last objects waiting to be removed. 😊
There's a pile of stuff between the table and the door to the (under the stairs) cupboard of doom. I've got that in my sights now. To be honest I'm itching to make a start on the cupboard .... but that may change when I open the cupboard door! I hereby confess that is is filled from front to back and from top to bottom - a lot of it in boxes from when I had to pack up the house for it to be modernised.....in 2011. Nonchalantly whistles. When I open the door I'll take a photo .... and I already have plans for when it's emptied as that's where the hoovers, long handled duster, mop and bucket, shoe rack etc will live. I should be totally overwhelmed at the thought but it feels doable and actually quite exciting.
I know there are long lost treasures waiting for me in there including my sewing basket and a little cat that curls up on the back of the sofa. Hoping that none of the pipework in there has leaked and spoiled things...but we'll deal with that when, if, we come to it.
I'm going to pull out the first bag of stuff from in front of the cupboard door while I'm feeling positive and incentivised.... there may be a list to follow. 😉

@Florenceem, I can understand your decluttering as a safe , more organized home for Mr F to come home to and I find for me that when I’m stressed and can’t settle a bit of decluttering does help to occupy the mind. DH and I have been working on the garage , but I have had your situation at the front of my mind in that I want any heavy decluttering done before we’re older and not so fit for it. Glad the antidepressants have been supplied and hopefully there is more light at the end of this tunnel. Do look after yourself as all to often the toll on the spouse gets overlooked. I love Bessie - I don’t craft as I’m not very good at it but I like crochet. I’m decluttering my stash at the moment 9 balls out and thinking only of keeping colours and yarn that I really like.I cleared out rubbish from the car today so just
1 pile rubbish from car

Hugs for everyone and keep safe.17 -
Oh my! DS's GF is going to love me 🤣
One bag of Psychology degree text books - dusted and added to pile for DS
One F1 Wii game - dusted and added to pile for DS
One PS2 game - dusted and.....you've guessed it....added to pile for DS.
Instructions leaflet for Cricket 07- dusted and...you know the rest.
One advertising leaflet - to be recycled.
😊

ETA. I've just remembered. The PS2 was passed to a friend for her daughters to play on when DS upgraded. So it's not lurking undiscovered.IT ONLY TAKES SMALL DAILY ACTIONSFOR MAGIC TO HAPPENRosemary Ikpeme19 -
1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks to include MMiM - do this before I go to bed
2. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ I have an acronym - I.R.I.S. being Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off -
3. Implement a new sleep/wake up regime - start going to bed earlier (target before 2:00 a.m.) get up earlier (target by 9:00 a.m.)
4. Deal with ‘Urgent’ daily mail immediately & the rest at the weekend
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. If I spot a mini task deal with it immediately e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
7. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Wrote cheque for TV Licence - envelope stamped & ready to post. DH got home about 14:15. We have each had a bowl of soup which was delicious 😋 DH is now 6 for 6 with his hm soups 👏 I cleared a few more programmes from TV planner. Ashamed to say I was remiss & forgot to phone cousin R 😟 but she called me. R finally has a death certificate but was confused by the cause of death & got more upset when speaking to the coroner who only half explained & only used complicated words 🤔 R now has a video call booked with her dad’s dr as she wants to fully understand what happened. Our conversation ended on an upbeat note by talking about her dad’s cooking exploits 🙂 We are both still in a state of shock as my uncle was a fit 83 year old who had had a new lease of life after his hip replacement surgeries.
Dinner was the last of the veal escalopes (from the garage freezer) in panko breadcrumbs with boiled potatoes & peas 😋 Wudupa.
1143 - 1146 Kitchen recycling, 2 magazines, drinks cans - recycled
1147 Kitchen detritus binned
Friday is a damp dark day. DH is watching MotoGP practices & I am having my first cuppa having only got up at 12:30 p.m. 😔 So will go straight into cheerleading 😉
Oh weenancy, I just want to give you a big hug 🤗 Plus give your roommates a kick up the backside 😉You have so much going on that no wonder you don’t have the strength to clear up after them 😔Saturday sounds like a wonderful day 😊 A tongue in cheek comment coming up……. “Perhaps you should start charging for having your photo taken 🤣” Wow your book sale has come around quickly 😱 Naughty, naughty on Sunday - I seem to remember that you are waiting on a cataract operation so should be resting your eyes 🤔 Excellent work dealing with frogs & getting so much trash out 👏 Any chance of roommate J helping you sort out the kitchen or does his tidying up only extend to his room 😖 Is the dog you mentioned another dog or has the husky been away? I can see that you are still having no luck whatsoever in rehoming the husky 😔 & that she is still insisting on helping you with the decluttering 😅 I take it that G & Di only take take the cans because there are a few cents to be reclaimed or am I being a tad cynical 🤨 I was just wondering if you have had any time at all for a bit of TLC? 🙏 try to find at least some time to relax 🙏 Fingers crossed that the weather warms up so you can at least use the pool 🤞
Florenceem, I hope DD’s journey in the thunderstorm wasn’t too scary 😟 Really, after all this time the hospital still haven’t got the hang of phoning you on your mobile 😖 Excellent decluttering as usual 👏
Dfw38, excellent work getting stuff to the Tip 👏 Hopefully yesterday’s trip was the last one needed for a while 🤞Not sure I would describe all the outside work as a frog - more like an exhausting Cane Toad 😱 Fingers crossed that you get some good weather so you can finish the fence painting 🤞Sorry to hear that you are feeling so overwhelmed Dfw38 😞 Please don’t be disheartened 🙏 You have already done so much this year decorating all the bedrooms & beautifully I will add 👏 + the amount of decluttering & tidying you have done downstairs means that everything gets tidied up & put away more quickly than at the start of the year 😊
Excellent work sorting out electrical items, roundtuit 👏 Fingers crossed that the elusive PS3 will be found in one of the other boxes 🤞 You might have wandered off track but, and this is a big BUT you have reminded yourself of the excellent work you have already done by knowing where things are + being able to get to them 🥳 I am so impressed that I am adding a medal 🏅 to your brownie points 😊
Fizz2015, sorry to hear that you are also feeling overwhelmed 😔 I think the current extremely changeable weather is putting a dampener on everyone’s emotions & energy levels 😞 Hope you managed to deal with everything laundry related yesterday 🤞 Thank you for being brave & sharing your feelings 😊 As I have no direct experience I will not be commenting but there are so many supportive people on the thread that I am sure there will be someone who will have had similar feelings & thoughts.
Excellent decluttering Florenceem 👏 & good luck with getting the last of the stain out of your ceramic sink + sorting your craft table 🍀 Hope your visit with MrF goes well & that he is still improving 😊 Five weeks is a long time especially as I remember you saying that you & MrF rarely, if ever, spent a night apart 😔
Yippee to finding the PS3 in the PS4 box roundtuit 🥳 I can point out that this particular gene is only slightly faulty as items were being put in boxes just not the correct ones 😂 Fingers crossed that the original PS is in the correct box 🤞 Apart from my iPad the only electrical device I have had was an original Nintendo Gameboy with 2 games - Tetris & Space Invaders 😂 Sadly it stopped working & went to that great electronic scrapyard in the sky 😔 Well done on finishing the last of the RD selections books 👏🤞
Excellent & eclectic decluttering gettingthrifty 👏 Perhaps you could ‘pay yourself’ - might be useful as a savings tool 😉 The “HoldingZone” method od decluttering is definitely working for you 🥳
Another day of struggling to concentrate so will post this & watch some TV 😉
Hope everyone has a good day 😊

Been to visit Mr F - he hasn't started on the anti depressants - he couldn't have last night's tablet as the Pharmacy hadn't supplied them!
The Vicar from our old Church came to visit Mr F so I left as my lift was waiting - he had been taking another friend to an appointment at the other side of the hospital.
A Consultant came to see Mr F this morning and tried to get him out of the chair but couldn't - usually takes two physios to do it. Physios turned up while I was visiting - Mr F got himself up out of the chair and walked with the zimmer frame - out of the bay and down the corridor + back. I went tooled up today - his toenails were long - so I cut and filed them.
This morning I moved the files on top of the filing cabinet in the office down to one of the filing cabinets in the garage. Only a small thing but looks so much better. I have lost count of the amount of times that I have heard a crash and it has been files falling on the floor.
The file with the shredded ends is where Mr F jammed it in the shredder when he was really poorly.
My new microwave arrived while I was out but the delivery person followed my instructions to leave it in the porch.
I ordered a new phone last night - another Samsun.

Haven't posted for a week. Tried to at least skim read posts but I've admitted defeat. Did get as far a Dfw's tip re: clearing cookies though - thanks I will remember that for next time.
Overall things are improving - I've been in a better frame of mind. I'm having a grumpy day today though (think its the weather) - but its a very ordinary level of grumpiness. I decided to channel my irritable energy to clean the house - it hasn't done that much to improve my mood but at least I have a clean house.
Booked holiday - defaulted to my normal destination of Spain - at first I felt disappointed in myself for not being more adventurous, but now I am just looking forward to it.
Phoned my travel Insurance company to update my medical information which thankfully has improved - they made the changes then tried to charge me £50+ extra for the remaining 3 months of my policy. So have now made a complaint. The Customer Service rep was lovely so I kept making sure to tell her that while I complained.
I really hope we get some sunshine soon....Tasks:
- Phoned travel insurance to update my policy
- Booked holiday
- CBT session with new Therapist
IN (running total 84)
85. Dress
86. Mirror for DS
OUT (running total 386)
387 & 8 - 2 x charging cables
389 - Holey yoga pants
390. Brush
391. Remaining table top wood - wheelie bin
Best wishes to all.
