@~FlowerPot~ hope the new windows are good. I had new ones put in last year, but oh the dust! Was a good excuse to redecorate and deep clean the room, and get rid of 'stuff'. They were worth it though. Much warmer and quieter over winter. I gave a load of Lego to younger relatives / friends' kids.
This weekend's mission is gardening - weeding and planting. Looks like rain sadly, but has to be done. Otherwise I'm going to attack a cupboard full of ancient family crockery and stuff. No idea what to do with old serving plates etc, do people still use them?!

I love a ginger cat. ❤️
just a quick call, off to Bury market. I need blinkers to walk past the wool stall.Absolutely fantastic news Florenceem about Mr F. I hope today’s visit is just as positive. Xx

vulpix - I went to Bury market when I visited Manchester for a Man Utd tour - my Birthday present. I had to buy a suitcase at the market to hold all the yarn that I bought!
I have a lift organised now for today. Been to SA - told them the good news about Mr F.
Posted a Birthday card to my eldest Dd.
While in town I collected a power thing from the PO - not sure the correct name - it is so I have emergency charge on my phone as I am out a lot visiting the hospital. The way my head is - I may forget to charge my phone and now I have the back up device. It was £19.99 on the big river site - I dithered about spending the money but thought needs must.
Taken all the stuff to the charity shops - now to do more decluttering to take tomorrow.

I cant remember who mentioned lego decluttering but second hand lego is like gold dust if you can find it. Look on ebay to see prices charged. Dont just give it away to people you dont know as they will bag it up to sell for a fortune! It will get snapped up wherever you decide to sell it.
@Florenceem hope DH is even better today.
@queenjess hope your dd is much better now and that you have managed to get a well earned rest. Such a scary time when one of your children runs a high temp.
@Mrs SD thanks for all the encouragement. Your DH seems back to normal thankfully and I hope your dn will be back on her feet again soon.
Sorry if I have missed anyone but this train moves so fast I really have a job keeping up. I am in awe at the decluttering some of you do in a day. @florenceem I am impressed with how much you take to the charity shops.

Not much managed this week as DD1 been here with DGD and DD2 I'd still refusing school so home Ed has unofficially began until tge meeting with school.

Hello All, back from holiday on Tuesday and want to go back already. The weather was gorgeous. Had a few stresses/drama with DSD. I thought I was doing the right thing of inviting her and it would be a fresh start but alas not. 😕 so not the most relaxing holiday and OH spent time with her whilst I took DD out exploring. (I really tried, bit my tongue an awful lot, stayed composed and dug deep but I was counting down until I could come home). I'm a bit sad but it is what it is. My sister and her family stayed nearby so had some lovely quality time with them.
I"m due back at work on 28th on a phased return and being referred to Occupational Health. I'm still getting generalised anxiety over things, mainly when I'm home alone and got too much time to think 🤔. So I'm trying to keep busy and have done all the holiday washing and ploughing through the ironing pile.
Decluttering has taken a back seat so going to try to do some sorting out this weekend. I feel calmer when things are organised and know where they are but currently stuff everywhere.
Hugs to those who need them x17 -
Hi
Am quietly decluttering the daily stuff..post , recycling. Really pleased to hear you had a positive visit mrs F Loving the cat photos!15 -
1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks to include MMiM - do this before I go to bed
2. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ I have an acronym - I.R.I.S. being Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off -
3. Implement a new sleep/wake up regime - start going to bed earlier (target before 2:00 a.m.) get up earlier (target by 9:00 a.m.)
4. Deal with ‘Urgent’ daily mail immediately & the rest at the weekend
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. If I spot a mini task deal with it immediately e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
7. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
I seem to have forgotten to come back last night 😬
Good afternoon everyone. Friday is another damp, drizzly day & rather chilly. I was rather hoping for a dry sunny day as DH & I still need to paint the trellis for the side of the shed 😔 Oh well I have plenty to do indoors just need to get in the mood 😉 The one thing I have done is cancel next week’s milk & eggs delivery as we have plenty of milk in the garage fridge. (Don’t tell anyone but I am quite enjoying using the Dairy’s Portal ………. 🤫) DH is off to visit G later this afternoon & will also be visiting again tomorrow to give G’s children some time off. Florenceem, you have inspired me to do some work in the kitchen 👏 I have just done 2 x 23 minute tidy up sessions in the kitchen - putting things away, binning a large bag of non recyclable padding*, moving the bag of worm bedding shredding to the shed & generally tidying up. It looks a bit better but does need a bit more work including some hooks put up for items that don’t fit in any of my cupboards 😔 15:45 DH headed off to King’s College Hospital to visit G. I have just finished dealing with today’s post + emptied shredder bin 🙂 I am feeling terribly mean but receiving requests for donations every month from the same charities is getting a bit wearing 😔 I have now taken to noting this down & should I receive a request for 3 consecutive months, I will have no choice but to write & request that my name be removed from their donor lists, albeit very reluctantly 😔On a lighter note DH has lost another lb 👏 17:00 just returned a few more items from the kitchen to the shed.
*DH reminded me that I had been keeping this for cladding to keep the worms warm next winter 😂 Ron can be very sneaky 🤣
1036 - 1037 Shredder bin emptied, large bag of cladding - binned
Excellent decluttering Florenceem 👏 I hope you have taken a photo of your cleared kitchen work surfaces to remind yourself of how much work you have done 😉 Hugs to both you & MrF 🤗
Good luck with the gardening Pixie_Cosmo 🍀 DH & I are generally fair weather gardeners 🤣 Sadly, nowadays we seem to have no use or space for large serving plates, so I have no suggestions 😔
vulpix, if the blinkers don’t work in Bury Market try not to spend too much 😉
Now, now Florenceem - don’t you go giving vulpix ideas 🤣 Possibly called a Charging Block 🤔 DH has several which have proved very useful when away from home 🙂
What a lovely supportive post Soontobeoap 😊 Re the Lego, I believe it was ~FlowerPot~, so thank you for the information 👏
Nice to see you charlies_tribe 👋 Can I suggest that you send the old banknotes by recorded delivery 🙂 Sorry to hear that DD2 is still refusing to go to school 😔 but hopefully something can be sorted when you meet with the school head 🤞 Excellent decluttering 👏
Thanks Siebrie, I think it is a perfect place to post 👏😊 This sort of thing generally passes me by as I don’t own a mobile phone 😉 Thanks again 😊
Fizz2015, shame that your holiday wasn’t as relaxed as it should have been 😔 As you commented “it is what it is” & more power to you for even trying 👏 Sad to say it seems to me that the only person who really lost out is DSD ☹️ although, being optimistic, maybe in a few years she will appreciate the efforts you have made 🤞All that aside, it sounds like you still managed to have a lovely time with your DD & your sister & her family 😊 Good luck with your phased return to work 🍀
Great work gettingthrifty 👏 Keeping clutter OUT is just as important as ridding yourself of the clutter you already own 😊
Yippee the sun is finally out celebrating that I have caught up with the cheerleading 😂

Hello all, I haven’t quite caught up with all the posts but sorry to hear that there are some unwell loved ones, and condolences to those recently bereaved. We went away for Easter so I got a bit out of routine with keeping on top of all the cleaning. I also went charity shopping (all bargains of course) and haven’t put everything away yet…. But nothing that can’t be fixed over the next week or so I am sure 😊 There is also a local pre loved sale on tomorrow so I will be tempted no doubt. Maybe the next one I will get my act together and do some selling.
will report back soon with how much stuff I bought 🤭16
