Ok so I'm going to try to post some pics.
I've assembled the Ikea units (with bits left over of course) and am trying to deal with the clothes and zillion scarves. There's 3 units - 1 for jackets/skirts/trousers, 1 for tops and 1 for scarves. All of prove what an excess I've got. I've also got a chest of drawers (knick-knacks, sox, t-shirts) and a kinda sideboard for out of season stuff. The aim is that if I declutter some of the "WTH was I thinking" stuff as I go along so everything I'm keeping will have a place that does not include on top of something.
My question for the collective is how to better store the scarves? Currently have an IKEA scarf hanger 36 slots but housing double that in scarves, a trouser hanger for some of the bigger pashmina types, and a spare hanger that just happens to have holes in it so holding another 10 scarves. Yes, I am a scarfaholic. I'm thinking another IKEA hanger plus a couple more trouser ones but open to suggestions (not getting rid other than my least fav, never worn 4 or 5)

some of the scarves. The small cull I'm doing will bring the total below 130. (disclaimer - doesn't include wooly winter ones)

Brie, lovely lovely scarves 😍
I store mine in plastic boxes in the wardrobe.
1 big box for pashminas etc,
3 oblong smaller boxes for:- large squares (that get folded triangular and worn cowboy style with flowing ends), long oblong (that loop round neck and hang down), small square (triangled and knotted cowboy style or tied, dangling style, from bags or jackets - or in my younger days made into a strip and tied round just below the knee Bruce Springsteen/Adam Ant style 😀)
(This is why I'm a butterfly i think- stuff separated into categories and labelled in see thru boxes)
Daisy xx

Brie, I think I am under dressed if I am not wearing a scarf. Scarves on hangers would do my head in. Mine are all carefully folded and then shoved into their own overcrowded drawer.Plasterer has been today, also a guy to take the rubbish. I am glad it’s gone as I didn’t want plasterboard disintegrating in the garden when it rains.I have managed some time in the garden. Mostly pulling up thousands of sycamore seedlings. Many more thousands to go.We went into Manchester when Mr V came home from work. Plants purchased. My buxus balls died. Oo er. I am replacing them with big white daisies.MrV at work tomorrow morning and tomorrow night. Plumber coming in the morning to start tiling. If anyone needs me I will be in the garden.Mrs SD I gave most of the buttons away. I will never use all the tiny mop buttons that were possibly from my great grandmothers day. I just saved a few sets that I will possibly use on knitted items. I think I will make the tin into my sewing box. The one I have, I had as a child but it is well past it now. I also brought a tin from mil’s. Probably 60’s with pretty horses on. Don’t know what to do with it yet. I will take some photos for you in better light. I think you may be right about tooth infections. I have a face full of spots too. At my age !
take care chums. Vx

Not much to report. I've been sticking to just doing 3 things a day; the jury is out as to whether this gets everything done as it's only been a few days. At least I feel like I can relax once I'm done and the other good thing is that it certainly makes you prioritise when you only have a choice of 3 things. It means that I've been doing a few bits and pieces, tidying and frogs rather than decluttering as they are the more urgent things at the moment.Decluttering progress is limited to stuff I've naturally come across.. organic decluttering if you will11,547-11,557 - emails permanently deleted11,558 - kids clothes too small (charity bag)11,559 - my clothes I don't wear (charity bag)11,560 - bathroom supplies used up2025 decluttering: 3,958🌟🥉🌟💐🏅🏅🌟🥈🏅🌟🏅💐💎🌟🏅🏆🌟🏅

What a whirlwind the past 2 days have been!
dog 1 had her op yesterday and had more than the cruciate ligament done. The vet did explain but it went over my head…as long as it works that’s all I care about. She stayed overnight and we picked her up this morning, so out of it bless her. Hubby and I took it in turns to stay with her indoors and plenty of cuddles although she was NOT happy when I wasn’t there.
as well as all that the washing machine broke but now fixed, I tidied up the kitchen twice as hubby was too cross after trying to fix the washing machine….he is normally really laid back but when he loses his temper he really loses it!!!
I managed some shopping and got rid of a load of unneeded medication, cleaned the bathroom and spent some time in the garden.
am shattered! Upstairs with dog 2 hubby is downstairs with dog 1. He can sleep on the settee, I can’t.
Chocolately hugs to all xx⭐️⭐️⭐️🥇🥇🥇 2024 decluttering
