I've had 8 items in, but some of them will be passed on/re-homed.
They are mainly art supplies and a very useful storage box.
I will update when they go out.Decluttering campaign 2023

Reading along, I like being surrised by good points, like the cupboard will just get stuffed fuller until you can't find anything. That's the current state of the under stairs. I keep shoving more and more in there because a lot of it is tools which I don't want to get rid of, but honestly, I probably could cull the bejusus out of it this weekend if I put my mind to it. Thanks [I think...? ] @Brie , I've got a weekend plan now...Condolences to all of you who have lost someone recently too...Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi14

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks to include MMiM - do this before I go to bed
2. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ I have an acronym - I.R.I.S. being Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off -
3. Implement a new sleep/wake up regime - start going to bed earlier (target before 2:00 a.m.) get up earlier (target by 9:00 a.m.)
4. Deal with ‘Urgent’ daily mail immediately & the rest at the weekend
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. If I spot a mini task deal with it immediately e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
7. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bedThursday: up & dressed by 11:05. Another overcast dreary day. I have my first cuppa & am settling down to catch up on the cheerleading. Wish me luck 🍀roundtuit, there are a few ladybugs 😉 Pleased to hear that your decluttering mojo has come back from its holidays & returned with a friend 😊
TC77, RL has a habit of getting in the way of our decluttering plans so all we can do is keep plodding along with the decluttering. We just have to remember to celebrate our successes both large & small 😊 Decluttering is not only a marathon but perhaps also an Iron Man/Woman Challenge 😉 Well done on dealing with frogs 👏 Sending more good wishes & positive vibes to DD1 in her search for a new flat 🍀
Dfw38, everything is crossed that your dad’s doctor sorted the paperwork yesterday 🤞 There are just no words I can offer by way of comfort so all I can do is send as many hugs as you need 🤗 & some very chewy toffee for your dc in the hope that it will keep them quiet & occupied 😔 Distraction decluttering can be quite useful especially if it tires you out & helps you to sleep.
Excellent decluttering Pennypincin 👏 One medal 🏅is coming your way for resisting the temptation to buy new pens & stationery 🙂 Hope you enjoy your cousins visit from New Zealand 😊 Maybe a reciprocal visit to New Zealand is in your future 🤞
Lovely post vulpix & thanks for mentioning the Mariposa Trust 😊
Florenceem, I definitely struggled with some/all of the questions 😉 Like you I think I am some other sort of bug, although I dread to think what it is 😱 Sorry to hear that MrF has computer problems but hopefully your friend can sort it out 🤞 Well done on your distraction decluttering 👏 Very pleased to hear that MrF’s clients are being so understanding 🙂
Crazycatlady2, lovely supportive post 😊 Love the tale of the new shed 😅 Is it big enough to function as a den & will it have a power supply? I only ask because perhaps you were subconsciously thinking about having a comfortable bolt hole to hide from hubby 🤣 Is the £13 per item or per collection? Just thinking about the fence panels 🤔
Great decluttering Pennypincin 👏 Nothing wrong with stocking up on 10p a roll wrapping paper as long as you remember not to buy any more next Christmas 😉
bit_by_bit, great idea to talk to other people about decluttering 🙂 I miss my old Community CS as they took basically everything including the plastic takeaway boxes - they used to run a meal service for the homeless. Crafting supplies were also gratefully received as they used to run a children’s club & various other activities. Sadly greedy developers shut them down a few years ago 😔 A lovely supportive post & great news that if we keep chipping away at the clutter we will feel less stressed 😊& we too will be able to have visitors - if we want them 😉😅 Our 2nd Bee 🐝
Foofoopuppy, a butterfly 🦋 how lovely ☺️ Excellent decluttering 👏 I now have a great picture in my head of a Ninja 🥷 running around in the dead of night filling up other people’s bins 🤣 Good luck with your weight loss 🍀 As you mentioned hopefully with brighter days will come easier times 🤞
One page caught up, so will post this & make myself another cuppa 🙂 DH got up a few minutes ago 😉 I didn’t realise it has been raining so todays gardening plans are now on hold 😔

@Mrs_Salad_Dodger the collections are split into 3 categories and first items is £13 and others £7 if in same categories 🤷♀️
the panels will be dismantled and put with rest of wood pile for either skip or giving to someone my husband knows for burning later in year
shed can have power but not sure I need it as has window for light and summer house shed already has power. The extra room means I can get mower and sons wheel chair in and out around each other easier
today I’ve checked 5 other fence panels and they can be repaired rather than replaced so next job us to source paint for shed and panels at best prices
eldest son will paint 13 panels for a months free board and I’ll paint 2 panels the new shed and the bike shed 😂 but I can’t do any till youngest back at school anyway
hope everyone doing ok15 -
Oh Florenceem I know he is resisting the GP but how about an appointment for you to set your concerns out and ask for advice. Mr F won’t be the first difficult/ reluctant patient they will have encountered. Xxx
So I intended to tidy up where I can with the plumber and electrician in and out, do a load of washing, wash up, peg the washing out and do some gardening… and it’s now raining.I have woken today with ANOTHER infected tooth. Dentist couldn’t believe it. Can’t see me till Tuesday. I am falling to bits. The bathroom is all coming together. I have never had a lovely bathroom before.Remember I said I am not going to change the furniture? I’ve had an idea. After visiting DS air b n b I want to get rid of a bookcase. I have very few books these days. All it contains is decorative things.I brought home my Mother’s button box the other day. It is a big old toffee tin that actually was my grandmother’s. Of all her things I could want it’s the button box. DS found an old dinner suit. I threatened to make him a Pearly king suit for the coronation. Sadly the suit is too small.Love to people and pets under the weather. DFW, you have clever kids, they can sense your distress but don’t know how to handle it yet. Everything will be ok.Vx:18 -

Blue_Doggy, Love your ways of putting off decluttering 😅 Although I do think number 3 is an excellent idea “- starting to make an inventory of my possessions* ……. * not quite as mad as it seems, I want to do it for my executrix, and while I’m going through everything now, listing, although it slows the decluttering, saves having to go back over it all again in the future. It does also help by making me think about the stuff and whether it’s even worth keeping.” Excellent decluttering btw 👏
QueenJess, what a considerate & caring post & thank you for sharing 😊 Bearing in mind how much decluttering you have already done, I would go with “things are getting better” 👏
Florenceem, good news that the friend was able to sort out the computer issue 👏 Hopefully things are getting a bit easier as you are managing to get MrF out of the house on a fairly regular basis 😊
Well done on decluttering your “desk” Brie 👏 Hot desking in 2 locations must be an absolute nightmare 😖 Whoever thought up the idea of making employees carry their work around is a ‘monster’ imo 😔 😉 Also lugging around a heavy bag is bad for your physical health 😔
MadamMim2013, I have just read your Avatar & your post confirms that it is the maxim by which you live 😊 So very sorry to hear that you have now suffered two miscarriages 😔 Hugs to both you & MrMim 🤗
Muddy_Walker, cats & dogs can be great declutterers usually of items you don’t want decluttered 😉My parents had a dog who ‘decluttered’ a kilogram of Parmesan Cheese 😳 & wasn’t ill - how 🤔 I hope the dog cwtches did the trick & you are feeling better 🤞
Fayolle, we are definitely of the same era - the world is getting ever smaller 🤩Miss F for French & Miss J for Russian with Miss C for Latin & MrJ for RE. I might spook you a bit more now …. my parents owned the newsagents next door to the school for a few years 👻 One memory of Miss F will always stick - she once came into the classroom when we were all chatting & being rather noisy. All bar one of us noticed her arriving & settled down but one unfortunate girl had her back to the door & carried on chatting UNTIL Miss F threw the blackboard eraser which clipped the girls head 😱 The young lady was shocked but not hurt & covered in chalk dust. Needless to say although the girl received some sympathy from her classmates, the overwhelming reaction was that we were all rather impressed at Miss F’s accuracy 🤣 Those were the days 😉 Hope DH had a lovely time last night & your car survived the pot holes when you collected him 🤞
Excellent decluttering Florenceem 👏 What very lovely friends 😊
Excellent decluttering vulpix 👏 Did you design the new bathroom layout or did you get someone in? Just curious as we really need to get our bathroom sorted out this year 😔 We will have to say goodbye to the bath & have a shower, which is probably why we keep putting it off 😉
End of another page 🥳
Just popped outside & ended up chatting to neighbour I & his mum. He is taking his mum home to Scotland & will be staying a couple of weeks. They were washing the bed linen & towels before setting off but the wm broke down mid spin. So currently in my wm whilst they are packing up the car. Spent 10 minutes chatting to I’s mum as she has given me a few books to read rather than return them to CS & I got the impression that she really wanted to chat. Her other son (who also lived in London) died last year 😔 Apparently he struggled for years with alcoholism & each time she came to London she split her time with her 2 sons & tried to help I’s brother. So very sad that it was never quite enough. Just handed back the bedding & towels. They have almost packed the car & will be off shortly.
DH headed off to sm about 14:00.

I found Mr F on the floor in the office before lunch - he said he collapsed. I think he may have fallen and decided to stay on the floor as he got up when I told him to - after checking that he wasn't hurt. Mr F is not wanting to face the situation that he has got himself into - which is one BIG mess!
I don't think he has a urine infection - not complaining of burning or visiting the toilet more often.
I will see how he is before his next Doctor's appointment this month and may ask to speak to Dr before she sees him.
Mr F was dreadful in the town - walking around with his mouth open, his trousers kept falling down and he was not at all with it. Someone in a car called out hello to him when we passed them while they were waiting at traffic lights - he doesn't know who it was but they said his name so knew him.
He seems worse in the evenings - I had someone coming here at 8.30 so set an early alarm but he kept mumbling and ranting as I tried to get off to sleep.
I don't want to get impatient with Mr F but I am manning two phones - trying to call people and keeping an eye on him.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

@Florenceem - my father refused to go to the doctor also - so I made him an appointment and said it was for me and he needed to take me. I worked to get him there. Good luck at getting him in to see a doctor - for the sake of both of you. Hugs16
