Afternoon all. Not sure where the last week has gone but you all seem to have been very busy as I'm about 16 pages behind.
I haven't managed a great deal this week but some clothes have left to my sister (they were bagged up for the charity shop but her boys are growing so fast she's going to see if anything will fit them and then drop at charity shop).
Absolutely loving the sunshine and getting the washing dry outside. Dd1 said to me the other day that she's realised she's an adult after getting excited over how much washing she could get out in the sunshine and the new hoover she got for Christmas 🤣.
Speaking of washing, I'm off to put another load out.
752-753 2 x Dress sold and posted
754-789 36 clothing items donated to sister and then charity shop.
790-791 2 x pairs shoes

@MadamMim2013 so very sorry for your loss, thinking of you and Mr MimAiming to declutter 365 in 2023
Current total: 3616 -
Still playing catch up here, but gentle hugs to all who need them (does that sound weird from a relative newbie? Promise I won't stalk anyone
)
I have finally made a start, so:
2 dresses, 2 tops, 1 cardigan, 1 pair of slippers going to CS this afternoon
6 broken or otherwise unsuitable boxes going to recycling
1 newspaper covering the Queen's passing - a hard one for me, not particularly a royalist but I had huge respect for her
So 13 items, added to what I think was 3 before - drum roll - 16 total!
At least I've finally made a start
One thing, am I able to add a signature yet, does anyone know? I may be too 'new' to be able to, plus I'm using my phone today so less options probably. Thanks to anyone that can advise.Aiming to declutter 365 in 2023
Current total: 3616 -
Just a few bits sorted this weekend - I realised yesterday a top I was wearing was too low cut for me now - I kept tugging it up! So have had a sort through my tops and decided to clear out about 6, plus 2 skirts that I realised are a bit short as well. They won't actually leave the house till next weekend as the charity shop is not open, but they are bagged to go with a couple of other bits that had no luck on olio.
Also decluttered a beautiful bike ride as the weather is gorgeous her, I'm now sunning myself in the back yard! I'm trying to be able to cycle to work which will save me a fortune, so these practices are helpful.
Hope everyone has a lovely Easter x15 -

Thanks to anyone that can advise. Not sure about being new, but to add from a phone click on "profile" at the bottom right on your phone, then "edit profile", then scroll down and select "signature settings". There's a box which you can then fill out and click "save".It's the same on a computer, but the profile is at the top right instead.

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks to include MMiM - do this before I go to bed
2. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ I have an acronym - I.R.I.S. being Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off -
3. Implement a new sleep/wake up regime - start going to bed earlier (target before 2:00 a.m.) get up earlier (target by 9:00 a.m.)
4. Deal with ‘Urgent’ daily mail immediately & the rest at the weekend
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. If I spot a mini task deal with it immediately e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
7. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bedWhile I was away from the thread, DH & I started making a couple of focaccias. First one is about to be knocked back & proved for a 2nd time. DONE ✅ I have also chopped the rosemary picked from my garden 🙂 DH & I have made the second focaccia
14:25 first focaccia cooking & second one on its 2nd proving. 15:31 2nd focaccia baked 🙂
Well done on building your IKEA units Brie 👏 I believe they always put a few spare bits in 😉 Good luck with your clothes & scarves sorting 🍀 I did a quick google & came up with “apartmenttherapy.com” Apparently rolled up in doughnut shapes & stored in clear containers is the new method for storing scarves 😉 Not too sure it would work with bulky winter scarves 😉 Well done on posting pictures 👏 Wow 130 scarves 🤩 1 every 3 days with a few to spare 😅
More excellent decluttering Florenceem 👏 Well ahead of target 🤩
daisy_1571, your way of storing scarves sounds easier 🙂
vulpix, good news that the plasterer has a guy to take away the rubbish 🥳 Everything is moving quite quickly now 🙂 You must be champing at the bit for all the work to be finished, so you can enjoy your brand new bathroom 😊 Meanwhile enjoy the sunshine ☀️ Shame about the buttons, although thinking about it logically buttons are of more use affixed to garment 😅
QueenJess, it sounds like ‘3 things a day’ means you have a far better decluttering/life balance 😊Excellent ‘organic decluttering’ 👏
Great work in your garden Soontobeoap 👏
Excellent decluttering short_bird 👏 A Gold Star ⭐️ is coming your way for reaching 3/4 way to target (1518/2023)
MuddyWalker, wow you have been busy 👏 Sending lots of healing vibes to doggy 1 for a speedy recovery. No wonder you were shattered - so much done coupled with the worry about doggy 1 😔Hopefully you can have some relaxation over the long weekend & catch up on some sleep 🤞
Thank you daisy_1571 👏 It was very satisfying 😊 although today I am suffering 😔
Pennypincin, nothing wrong with adding needed toiletries especially if you can get them a bit cheaper 🙂 Sorry to hear that you are feeling the ‘pinch’ at the moment 😔
Liverpool_Anne, shame about the journey to OH’ sisters home. Hope those people involved in the accident were OK 🤞 The meal sounds delicious, as does the lemon pudding 😋 So a good meal with good company & haircuts as well 🥳 The icing on the cake would have been if the baby had been born 😂 Sounds like the journey home was a lot better even if you did return with a bauble 😉 Have a lovely Saturday whatever you decide to do 😊 We have tried containers but the squirrels just chew them to bits & then the pigeons just hoover up the contents anyway 😖 We do persist each winter though because sometimes the little birds manage to get there first 😉
wort, sorry to hear about 3 visits to dentist 😬 Hopefully decluttering tools to your nephew will give you a warm glow to counteract the chill of decluttering money 🤞Hope you have a lovely Easter break with your family 😊
EnergyShifter, pleased to hear that DS is back from his trip 😊 Although very sorry to hear that you have possibly been misdiagnosed ☹️ Everything crossed that with your CBT practitioner on the case you will receive the correct treatment asap🤞 Hope you have a lovely Easter break 😊
vulpix, I have the same issue as wort - my teeth are pretty good but I am also suffering from bone loss (& receding gums) ☹️ Sorry to hear that the plumber hadn’t turned by 10:54 😔 Hopefully your next post will be to confirm that he has turned up & is working like a Trojan 🤞Oops to the silk flowers, that will teach you 🤣 Enjoy your planning 😉
Excellent work Moorviews 👏 Sounds like your decluttering muscles are getting stronger by the day 👏Coupled with your 2 questions: “Will this be useful to me?” and “ Will I actually use it?” & needing a Yes to both otherwise the item is going sounding like a sure fire recipe for success 😊👏 As your decluttering muscles get stronger it should get easier & quicker to decide the answer 😊 A very supportive 2nd part of your post 🥹
Sounds like you are in ‘Maintenance decluttering mode’ bit_by_bit 🥳 Well done on all your hard work 👏 which is being rewarded by having many visitors & being happy to let them in 😉 Always seems a shame when you run out of washing to dry on such a sunny day 😂
Excellent decluttering charlies_tribe 👏 I love it - “Dd1 said to me the other day that she's realised she's an adult after getting excited over how much washing she could get out in the sunshine and the new hoover she got for Christmas” - brilliant 🤩
Craving_space, once you have posted more than once you are a member of the Decluttering Family, so showing concern & giving out gentle hugs is perfectly acceptable 😊 Excellent decluttering 👏- you are starting to build up your decluttering muscles 🙂
Well done on the clothes decluttering Foofoopuppy 👏 I have the problem that if I pull up a low cut top it exposes my flabby belly - so mine went out a while ago 😉 I remember the old adage & the pithy response “If you’ve got it, flaunt it” but on the other hand “If you’ve got it, you don’t NEED to flaunt it” 😊 Good luck with the cycling 🍀 Please stay safe 🙏
QueenJess, thanks for answering Craving_space’s question 👏
All caught up, so now off to have a bath & pack for a couple of nights visiting the in-laws 😊

Managed to release another 2 scarves into the wild (ok, not really, but they are in the charity shop bag that is slowly filling). Thanks to everyone for your ideas. My problem is that if I can't easily see a scarf I don't wear it. I found one today that I normally wear when travelling but couldn't find for the last 2 trips. Anyways I've found more of the hangers with holes in them so have put more on those and folded the rest to be on top of the clothing rack. Now I just need to make sure they are circulated often enough not to get sun burn - we've south facing window and until we get proper blinds on it everything will be getting a good dose of sunshine whenever it's available.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. As I am typing on the computer - Mr F is sitting alternately talking to himself or sobbing. I had a bad episode with him last night then he slept okay. We got up and were going to pop out for some shopping - we had a day indoors yesterday - first for 9 days.
Something set him off and he sat on the bed saying that he couldn't get dressed. Then he stood on the landing and repeated a single word over and over. Then he started saying that he created the world and spoke of dust to dust and the Bible. Next he went silent and I couldn't get through to him. I phoned a friend and she tried to talk to him but he said that he didn't know anyone of that name. My friend told me to ring 111. I eventually got an answer and while talking to 111 Mr F fell on the floor so they sent an ambulance - it came while I was still on the phone - lights flashing and siren. Paramedics got him to get up and on the bed - all his vitals were checked and okay - it is his mind where he is unwell.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45
