2023 DECLUTTERING CAMPAIGN Mrs SD

If you gather your not-for-donation stuff together, you can then sort it into types according to your local tip - for example mine will take metal (toenail clippers); hard plastics (broken plastic boxes); small electrical items (old chargers, wires, broken hairdryer); wood (broken cupboard); batteries; light bulbs....Craving_space said:... A lot of the problem I have is that quite a lot of what I need to declutter are weird duplicated items - who needs 3 lots of toenail clippers - that I really can't pass on to any one else, or is just too broken to share with a CS. So I'm suffering a huge amount of landfill guilt, and I'm not sure how to get past that, although with the obvious rubbish I'll have to, it has to go....2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

I have gravel under mine, but it also has some previously planted fancy grass & plants that are starting to take over. The plan is likely to involve removing the existing gravel, stripping all the plants & soil out, then replacing the weed membrane & re-gravelling.Mrs_Salad_Dodger said:I would be very grateful if you could share any solutions to the ‘area around bird feeders’ challenge 🙏 Due to the hordes of pigeons we have the area around ours is barren & becomes a quagmire when it rains 😔

Those questions were a little ambiguous weren’t they!I have…..drumroll please…..done 23 mins of April admin. One large pile to go into work to shred, one smaller pile to file and a medium pile to be dealt with when all of it is in the same room. Very pleased with myself!
bin day tomorrow so everything emptied and sorted, one load of washing done, dog2’s paw washed many times (sigh) and hopefully fingers crossed, moon in the right direction etc etc…light at the end of the tunnel work wise…..⭐️⭐️⭐️🥇🥇🥇 2024 decluttering

No decluttering to report apart from the usual recycling, green bin contents etc etc. But I wanted to say thank you to all of you who generously share your decluttering thoughts and tips. I am definitely one who would think that putting Stuff in a pretty box would mean it was successfully decluttered. I’m hoping that I’m beginning to see the light.
Mrs S_D - weird coincidence there - I spent 7 years at the London Road one 😉16 -
Ha.. me too.. 😆 though I’m not 100% that’s true.. some of the questions I had to pick an answer that “would do”.roundtuit said:I'm a ladybug. 🐞

Still.. I like the idea of being a 🐞..
Had an odd few weeks.. & they seem to be flying by, I’ve been reading along and am sending condolences, love, hugs, sticks, spoons and anything else that’s needed.
My OH and I have just returned from a few days away to sadly be hit with our own loss, we’d happily discovered I was expecting a month or so ago and I was excited that I’d managed to get to 13/14 weeks, I felt unwell on Saturday, it progressed & I began to miscarry in the early hours of Sunday. 😔
We are devastated yet aware that being older comes with its own complications (including my pernicious anaemia) when pregnant.
Have been pottering about putting odds into the charity shop bag in between sleeping and being cuddled, the support from OH has been wonderful.May go and stay in the TLC carriage for a day or two.. I can offer up home made choc chip shortbread & raspberry cordial to anyone who wants to pop in and splat for a while..

I'm a butterfly.
Not much decluttering this week, keeping busy with half term and occupying DD. Met friends in a local park for picnic yesterday, then went to local seaside town with MIL today. The weather was gorgeous. Then meeting another friend tomorrow for park and picnic playdate. Friend is going through a tough and very sad time as her mum has a brain tumour which has got worse and now only has 2-3 months. 😥
Still need to pack for holiday too.13 -
Madam Mim and Mr Mim. Massive love and support for you. Xxxxxxx
I am in total agreement with everyone in having landfill guilt. My solution is if I own less and use it well it is the best I can do.I also agree about crafting. No one would be prepared to pay a Crafter by the hour.I have just woken up. Consequently not tired when it’s bedtime!
