Holy Shark Repellent Bat Spray, @daisy_1571 !
Anyway. Have had a couple of days hibernation and feeling a bit meh: cancelled trip to Leeds due to the weather. Luckily, today I managed to get up slightly earlier and got a bit of a move on. I've completed 10 23 minute missions - 3 yesterday and 7 today for a total of 17- resulting in all the DVD's and Blu-rays being relocated into the Detolf glass unit from the PS cabinet. (Ike@ references...) This means I have more space for CD's close to the player and can get them off the floor so the robot hoover can go under the cabinet. I've then started sorting the CD's into alphabetical order (integrating the new buys with the old buys) and discovered 5 duplicates which I will pass on.
So, the scores on the doors:
1258- 1259: 100 emails deleted
1260-1263: 4 GB data deleted
1264-1265: 2 binbags taken out to the bins
1266-1267: stuff to recycling
1268-1279: rubbish to binbag
Deferred decisions: after sorting out the DVD's, 3 to the charity shop bag, 1 to the bin as wouldn't play and 5 (including 2 box sets) to go to a shop on the High Street for exchange. Deferred decision total now 219.
Night, all!

Hi all, I have had another sleepy day but I have tidied the kitchen. Whenever OH cooks it looks like a bomb has hit it and the kitchen bin has been emptied. As predicted the box of spice stuff was left on the side but I sent OH shopping for whatever other ingredients needed and requested the box to be dealt with. I now have a fridge full of prepped stuff that OH has said will be cooked tomorrow. I also have 3 large chillies that I have suggested be passed on to someone who will use them or they be chopped up and frozen for use by OH another time. We shall see. I have sorted a cubby hole in the unit I want to move, nothing thrown out but it is in the banana box. Several text messages sent and answered and some more emails unsubscribed from, filed or permanently deleted. After tea I caught up with Stacey and did some crochet. I am also warming to her as she does seem to be sympathetic to the families and the carpenter can come to my house anytime he wants, I have lots of things he could do
. Dilly drives me to distraction, as Vulpix said biscuit organisation! and the only thing I label is food in the freezer I have batch cooked and now the cartons of juice in the fridge
. I think the family last night were just overwhelmed with it all and Mum was trying to do everything for everybody and failing and the rest were just not taking any responsibility because they didn't know how to help. I think we would all probably do better if we had better systems that everyone in the house followed. No matter how hard we try if others don't pitch in it's exhausting just keeping the carp at bay. One thing I didn't get was if you have less clothing you have less laundry. There are only so many clothes you can wear and it doesn't matter if you have 2 pairs of jeans or 20 wearing them creates the same amount of laundry. What is important is that you keep on top of it and don't let it pile up, two different things completely in my eyes as long as you have the space to store them properly.
@Vulpix. I hope you beat the rocking chair into submission. Maybe the furniture renovation needs to be done without a deadline in future
. Considering your height wouldn't you be more suited to being the hooker
. I used to go out with a prop forward, he was like a giant
@QueenJess thank you for the encouragement re digital decluttering, I will keep plodding on
@D123456789 wow you have cracked it
@Mrs SD they are very strict with the B12 jabs, not even a day early, every 12 weeks. I have a friend who asked for them more frequently as he was struggling and they almost threatened to stop them! He had been very ill with pernicious anaemia before it was diagnosed. Mine wasn't as bad as based on his diagnosis I asked to be tested, we are both veggie. Wishful thinking about not cooking I'm afraid. OH has plans to batch cook with chicken but I have other things in the freezer I can have. As for the photo, when I can get to it I will gladly post a copy but it might be a while
So
511 kitchen bin emptied
512 -514 3x100 emails permanently deleted
515 self care session
Take care everyone

Oh I meant to say it snowed here, everthing from ready breck to cornflakes but it didn't stick, more tomorrow apparently
. I quite like snow, the light is amazing when there is snow on the ground.

Thanks for my ⭐️Mrs SD. @Vulpix - I still get emails in late DH's in box even though he died more than 4 years ago. At first it helped to know things he might be signed up to and I could cancel them. There were a few you needed to sign into the account to cancel and that was all very well if you knew or could find the password! There are still about 2 a month incoming but mostly they are spam. I think one photography group it took me about 6 attempts to get the account closed. I may close that email address later this year.
I am snowed in as it doesn't take much not to be able to get out of here. DS2 set off to work but today's job is some distance away and he is not sure if he will get there. GCs are here - one already poorly with croup but not worth the risk to take the other one to school. They may well close anyway. I have a number of frogs to do this morning.
I missed the TV programme but sorting and labelling biscuits is bizarre.2025 Decluttering Campaign 857/2025 🏅🏅🏅🏅(🏅🏅) 🌟🌟

I like that, ready breck to cornflakes. I am like a giant but widthwise! My son is not a small guy and prefers to play fly half, his teammates make him look tiny.
It is eerily quiet here this morning due to the snow, and quite picturesque. Mountain rescue have been out all night helping people stuck in cars. TBH if they live round here they should know better than to take a car out.
I am finding out about a new world whilst Mr V is away. Awoken at 5:30 by Fomo wanting breakfast and who knew that our heating doesn't come on till 7:30. I don't generally wake much before 9am.Early mornings pass me by.
No rocking chair wrangling today. Only another 8 hour shift and it should be ready to paint! Some much needed cleaning on the cards today.
Mr V should be home tonight.Thank goodness.Fomo tending is a full time job.

Hi all, well the snow came overnight and has caused travel problems with trains cancelled, buses delayed etc but the sun is out and it is starting to melt away. OH has declared a snow day which is just as well as received a phone call from the doctors at 8 to say please can you come in to see us at 9! That appointment was refused so now going at 2.45. We are intrigued but not worried
. Hopefully a few niggly issues OH has around meds can be resolved.
Take care everyone16 -
Munching frogs with two bored children - one also sick but well enough now to be bored. I've let them go outside warmly wrapped for a short while.
383-392 Giving myself 10 points for a mix of assorted online frogs and tadpoles. Last one took an hour but done now.
393 Walked around house and found at least 10 things to put away in less than a minute.
The dining room and DGD4's bedroom are a complete disaster.2025 Decluttering Campaign 857/2025 🏅🏅🏅🏅(🏅🏅) 🌟🌟

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks to include MMiM - do this before I go to bed
2. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ I have an acronym - I.R.I.S. being Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off -
3. Implement a new sleep/wake up regime - start going to bed earlier (target before 2:00 a.m.) get up earlier (target by 9:00 a.m.)
4. Deal with ‘Urgent’ daily mail immediately & the rest at the weekend
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. If I spot a mini task deal with it immediately e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
7. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
So much for seeing you later 😔 To finish off Thursday’s activity report - DH got back 18:15 - now at 9/31 👏 Dinner was last of the HF meals which DH & I cooked together - pan fried lamb steaks with a garlic & parsley butter, crushed crispy potatoes & crumbed green beans + we added some lightly fried baby plum tomatoes. Delicious 🤤 Wudupa.
I should have gone to bed when I started nodding off as I ended up falling asleep on the sofa for 2.5 hrs before going to bed at 5.00 a.m.
Woke up Friday 11:00 a.m. but up & dressed immediately. Dry outside but overcast & very breezy. Refilled tea bag jar - another 4 empty tea bags out of 20 😖 DH is just setting off on his first walk 14:15

bit_by_bit, sorry to hear your lunch partners cancelled - hope they are OK & it was just the weather that caused them to cancel. Sounds like you it was a blessing in disguise 😊 Hopefully you are feeling less tired now 🤞 Winter is dragging on a bit with hints of spring which can only lift our spirits for so long before the weather crushes our hopes again 😔 Great work keeping the house tidy & clutter free 👏Good luck with your online sales 🍀
vulpix, if you are still receiving emails when spring finally arrives it might be worth a visit to the rugby club & getting the administration staff to remove you from their mailing list there & then 😉 I do have to say that labelling the filing cabinet (my one & only concession to labelling apart from when putting food in freezer 😅) came in useful yesterday 🙂 DSis was looking for a fine nibbed pen & I was able to locate one within a minute 🥳 Fingers crossed that the heavy snowfall won’t cause too many problems 🤞I hope you managed to find a crafting project to relieve the tedium of paint scraping 🤞
Hope your vision has cleared now Florenceem 🤞 Good work staying on target with your decluttering 👏 I have just noticed your running total of 1222/2023 & realise that I have been remiss Again 😔 One Gold Star ⭐️ on its way 🙂
Excellent work charlies_tribe 👏 especially letting your daughter persuade you to go to ‘meadowhell’ 👏 One of the many reasons we are all doing so well is that we read something that strikes a chord & we are inspired to join in - whether it be sorting a kitchen drawer or dropping everything to get rid of a single item 😉 As I am now paying proper attention to everyone’s numbers, I am pleased to say that having passed the quarter point to your target, I am awarding you a Gold Star ⭐️ on its way as I type 🙂 Happy 1st Birthday DGD 🎉 🎈
daisy_1571, a perfect description of Stacey 😊 I think the weirdest thing she did was staple paper flowers to a wall in a little girls bedroom 😂 However the one I remember & really liked was putting a frame round the ‘deliberate handprints on the wall’ thus making it a feature in the children’s bedroom 🙂 Your mention of Adam West & the bat cave sent me down a rabbit hole as I had forgotten all the labelling 😉 😅
Great decluttering skogar 👏 despite your sister slowing you down 😂🙃
short_bird, I like the “Surprise Attack Defence Panel” 🤣 - obviously none of the villains could read 😉Sorry to hear that you have been feeling meh 🫤 & that you cancelled your trip to Leeds 😔 Excellent decluttering & sorting 👏 Another Award I missed earlier 😔 - one Gold Star ⭐️ on its way for being way past halfway to your target 👏
Liverpool_Anne, I wish I was as productive as you on a sleepy day 👏😉 My DH used to be like your OH - but now he generally tidies up as he goes along when he is cooking. The only thing he doesn’t do as frequently as I would like is wipe up spills thus preventing streaks down kitchen cupboard fronts 😔 I still haven’t seen this particular Stacey programme but from your description I do foresee lots of ‘talking to the telly’ 😅 Thanks for sharing the B12 injection information 👏 - everyday is a learning day 🙂 Hope your snow doesn’t cause too many problems 🤞
You are welcome GrannyKate 🙂 Sounds rather distressing 4 years on 😔 Sorry to hear that you are snowed in & that one of your DGC’s has croup 😔 Good luck dealing with your frogs 🍀
vulpix, your description of the snow sounds perfect - making the world eerily quiet & picturesque 😊Although I do hope the brave men & women of mountain rescue are all OK as well as those ‘unfortunate’ enough to require their services 🤞 Sounds like Fomo is missing MrV as much as you are 😉 Fomo probably thinks that you are still an apprentice 🤭🙃 Pleased to hear that rocking chair wrangling is off the cards today as you need a rest - after all Fomo needs your full attention 😉🙊
Liverpool_Anne, hopefully the snow will have cleared enough to make the journey to the doctors less difficult 🤞
Excellent decluttering of online frogs GrannyKate 👏 Now you just have 2 bored DGCs to wrangle 😊
I have decided on Friday’s MMiM - one of the cupboards under the kitchen sink - wish me luck 🍀

It took me a good half hour to declutter my husband's underwear drawer yesterday. I hung up some thermal tops he had in the drawer onto hangers in the wardrobe. He had forgotten he had those tops when I showed him. I went through his socks and boxers, in the drawer, not on his body!
All the boxers are in good condition, but there were 4 pairs of tatty socks that went into the pet drawer for my dog to play fetch with when the weather gets more dry. He still has 25 pairs of socks left. I actually have even more as I suffer with cold feet. I have over 30 pairs with varying degrees of thickness depending on the weather.
Our shower wasn't draining so I put Mr Muscle down there yesterday. I poured the hot water from the kettle down this morning and it was better, but still didn't seem right. I looked outside and saw the drain thing at the top was filled with rain water. My husband had to go up the ladder and there was a clump of cement in there that was decluttered! We had the roof done recently so there must have been a little bit of debris still up there. That fixed the problem anyway.
Due to that I then had to rush around as I had to pop to the shop, hang up the clean laundry, make us lunch and make his packed lunch as we wanted to watch an episode of the TV show Your Honor before he went to work. I managed to do it all just in time.:)2025 GOALS
