11 Christmas food items dropped off at the food bank. Feel a bit guilty as they were bought as Christmas presents, but I'm trying to lose weight and have no self control when it comes to goodies. So 12 items gone. That's me done for the day.

Hello All from a very sunny Tenerife. Only decluttering is spending Euro's and a few books will be left behind.Totally forgot one of the toiletries bags, took it out when repacking and must of left on bedroom floor. I had spread the toiletries over smaller bags to reduce spillages so have enough with the exception of hair conditioner and deodorant and the hotel provide soap and shower gel/shampoo luckily.Had some amazing fireworks to celebrate new year which was fab and woke up to a gorgeous view and sunshine for the new year. We arrived in the dark.19

6 x boxes taken to the charity shop this morning, and another 4 in the car waiting to go to the tip.
We have a brilliant charity shop that is leased to a different local community group each week, with most of the stock being cleared every week and appeals for new donations for the new tenants. The groups keep all the proceeds, and they never turn donations away.20 -

Hi all, well just as I was about to leave the house OH called to say don't come the garage is shut. So when OH got home and calmed down a bit I suggested a quick sm run so list written and we sorted through the various Christmas food gifts, 2 identified for the food bank and put in the car. Dug out some from previous years that have been lurking on the kitchen worktop. Checked bbf dates and those we will use put away, ood stuff thrown away, jars washed and into recycling. Quick check of cupboards 1 item ood into bin. Large amounts of cardboard into the recycling. Then I did a quick scoot around the bedroom and filled the recycling bag and a few bits into the bin. Then sorted the kitchen bins so
4 2x items for the foodbank
5 cardboard packaging
6 bedroom recycling
7. Kitchen recycling
8. Kitchen bin
On the way to am we passed the garage and it was open so returned home and OH picked up car, both to the garage and after a confusing conversation it transpires the car had been booked in to sort a slow puncture, supposedly done last week but still a very slow leak, at 3pm. OH had been told the car would need to be there for the whole day. Not booked in for service and mot!!!!! So car now booked in for next Monday but left at the garage to get the tire sorted. Finally got to the sm and items deposited in foodbank, home now, all shopping put away and having a cuppa and some lunch. Incidentally no origano in the sm, just a big empty space !

Take care everyone

Decided to have a go at sorting out part of the garage and have decluttered one large empty gas container; to be collected tomorrow.
Also have 6 flat packed cardboard boxes awaiting collection. Not a bad start for a few minutes work.

General recycling done for this morning..
Also decluttered some wonderful bubble and squeak cooked lovingly by OH 🥰
Encouraging OH to now clean out his works van, as his excess tools from our garage can then go into the tidy van! (Decluttering at its best 😉)
Have also sorted the small drawers that live on my bookshelves.. they’re home to cellotape, pens, glue, bric a brac.. a few bits thrown or recycled and the rest organised and in it’s rightful place!
Loving the enthusiasm here, it’s helping my motivation ☺️"There's a little witch in all of us"🔮🪬🧿DEBT FREE 06/2018Mrs SD’s Decluttering 2025 ⭐️ 🥇🥇17 -
A slight change of plans for me - top of my list now is to declutter myself of the ratty cold given to me by someone who's too grumpy to name.
This means I need a lot of sitting down time so when I'm in the lounge I'm decluttering my Netflicks films to watch list. When I'm on the pc (like now) I'm clearing out emails. Other things I'm trying to do in very very small bursts. One thing will be to pull out some of the frozen mystery dishes to see what redeeming qualities they may reveal for dinner otherwise they'll be binned.
Reminders to others....in case you need them....
Don't forget the 2 Fs! Foodbank & Freegle.- If you are decluttering your cupboards or sorting through Christmas leftovers the foodbanks will love almost anything you have. Same for all those packs of smellies received as presents. Some like to have things well within BBD by a few months. Others will be happy to take stuff as long as it's unopened. The local one puts the really short dated stuff outside it's front door so that people can help themselves as extras to whatever they might actually be given by the FB.
- Freegle allows you to advertise/offer things for others for free. This can be helpful if you are less mobile/without a vehicle and have larger items to shift. The down side is that some people will say they want something but never show up to collect. I get around this sometimes by agreeing to drop stuff at theirs - but that's because I'm able bodied (well mostly!) and have a tiddly car. If they aren't home I say I will leave it on their doorstep and then it's up to them to deal with it. Usually works.
And Gumtree. Usually only works if you are selling nice items cheaply that are too big to ship/post but might be nabbed by someone local.

I like the idea another poster had of doing 23 mins a day of decluttering for 2023. I've borrowed it and changed it so I tidy away 23 things a day when I get a moment (usually after lunch or dinner). Adds to a sense of achievement. I don't think my house is ever going to be perfectly tidy due to two little kids of 5 and under, but it could definitely improve a bit.The decluttering has kicked off. I just do little bits when it takes my fancy and where I think we need it most. I refuse to clean drawers/cupboards/shelves (aim was oneish every weekday) because I still consider myself on holiday until Thursday when I go back to work.1-4 - duck food bags used up (recycled)5 - kids toys (buy nothing)6 - baby nappy mat beyond redemption (tip pile)2025 decluttering: 3,984🌟🥉🌟💐🏅🏅🌟🥈🏅🌟🏅💐💎🌟🏅🏆🌟🏅

I've put the 4 pictures I'm donating into a carrier bag by the front door. They are kind of awkward sizes which don't match so I will have to wait for my husband to help me take them to the charity shop. I went round and rearranged the pictures I have left. I have a few holes in the wall now but we are getting the house painted this month anyway.15
