I've made a start, gave 4 books to a friend who came for a party a couple of days ago, what she doesn't read she will pass to the charity book shop. I've had 3 books come in, but 2 of those are library books from the library I've just joined, the other being one of their fundraising sale books.Today I listed about a dozen sample pots of paint on FB marketplace, I had an enquiry after about 5 minutes and somebody is collecting tomorrow. The removals boxes, packing paper and bubble wrap we had from when our furniture was returned from storage is going on Thursday, I just need to remember to drop it off on the way to Mr T. The lady also wants some coffee jars I've been saving up for her for a Repair Cafe she runs.I've also listed a couple of household items that were removed when we renovated the house, if they don't go in a couple of weeks they'll go to the tip.I don't know what will happen with the luck in our house as the cat was yowling this morning, and OH cleaned the windows in our new extension after we'd finished the top coat of paint. We only have one more room to decorate (kitchen) but it needs refurbing and replastering. We've got a company coming in a few days to talk to us about a refurb. We've had the whole house done in the past year, I know if we stop now we'll end up living with a part plastered kitchen with dodgy ceiling for months if not years if we run out of steam.@ChasingtheWelshdream I do feel for you and know exactly how you feel about living in dirt and clutter, we had 10 months of it last year and it's very depressing. If you can get a little sanctuary and work out of there it will help. I know I couldn't be bothered to do much more than the absolute minimum cleaning as the endless plaster dust and general grot kept landing as soon as it had been cleared. Now the builders have largely gone, cleaning does seem to make a visible improvement and stay that way for a while. We did a lot of it before Christmas, I need to Flylady to try and keep it that way.I've still got our decorations up, but they've only been up less than a week as our furniture was in storage and only came back 2 weeks before Christmas.Make £2025 in 2025

What is that method where you declutter 1 item on day 1 and 2 on day 2 etc - how many does it add up to?

Well, I’m back (from outer space 😆.. sorry..couldn’t help myself..sang it as I typed..🫣🤣)
It’s been a rough couple of years on and off, as it has been for so many of us, I’ve read along with you all for the last 2 years and know that I’m determined that it’s time to knuckle down and get to it..
Partner and I are totally official now as he moved in today! 🥰
Spent time notifying peeps for changes of address, etc.. also got him to delete 2000 emails 😮 & I’m definitely stealing that as a win for me! We have already cleaned house of all things Christmas and I binned all broken things from the boxes, it’s now all neat and tidy again and in storage.
I’m not going to count items or give a complete total goal, I’ll list progress as and when I can and also allocate dedicated time to declutter and sell items on V*nted and Flebay. Will sit down in the next few days and brainstorm a list of areas/things to tackle and I know there’s a few frogs lurking in the background that need to be munched!Emails and paperwork I like to deal with there and then, if possible and I regularly delete and clear inboxes etc, that I picked up from here and helps me feel far less anxious about stuff.
Mrs SD, thank you for this wonderful thread.. it’s kept me inspired during some very low times and I very much look forward to contributing much more this year! Here’s to a positive and productive 2023.. 🥳"There's a little witch in all of us"🔮🪬🧿DEBT FREE 06/2018Mrs SD’s Decluttering 2025 ⭐️ 🥇18 -
Really pleased with my progress today. A couple of dog toys gone that weren’t played with, via fb market. Also went through the rest and binned all the scraggy bits and pieces that have been replaced by her new Christmas toys.
Getting rid of bits here and there as I go, as I think that’ll be the way that works. The big test of course will be when I’m back at work.17 -
