Hello all, happy New Year ! Blimey this thread has moved at a pace, hope everyone keeps going throughout 2023.
Annoyingly I went down with the "super cold" over xmas ( managed to struggle through xmas day and Boxing day) and have only now started to feel semi normal, just the cough to declutter now. Thankfully I didn't pass it on to DH or Dad as both are classed as vulnerable for different reasons.
Not much decluttering done lately but sadly quite a bit of leftover party food from the fridge had to be binned 🤨 but we did manage to save the lo meat and get it into the freezer. There are still some crisps, Christmas cake, nuts and chocs left as I hardly ate any of it, but DH tried his best to dispose of those in case they went off 🤣. Yesterday I took my bedding ( sleeping bag and pillows) upstairs as the sofa became my 24hr a day space for a week and I had to sleep sitting up. It was lovely to actually sleep in my proper bed last night 🛌💤
When trying to have a it of a tidy up of the RoD aka the office, I put 3 unused xmas bottle bags ready for the cs, maybe baby steps but in the right direction. I have also done 3 loads of washing today, although mine were nearly all PJ's and my dressing gown.
Good luck everyone, happy decluttering.

Good afternoon, I hope you have all had a wonderful Christmas & New Year! It's me, Accidentalglixchbut I accidentally got rid of everything on my old laptop and can't remember the email address or password I've used to log in.
My challenge is to declutter 223 items as part of a separate challenge of trying to accomplish 46 goals in 2023. Yesterday I decluttered the under stair cupboard to kick this list / challenge off.- Net curtains
- Old FitBit lead
- Broken elf on the shelf table
- A lot of empty packaging
- Broken candy cane decoration
- Broken bauble storage bag
- Black hoodie - in bag to give to my sister next month
- Draft excluder - In 'for sale' bag that I need to list

I am washing my bedding today and I just looked in the airing cupboard to get the new covers out and I saw a maroon cushion cover that I could have sworn I decluttered ages ago! It was added to the donation bag with the pictures along with a small outdoor lantern I never use.
I'm about to tackle the kitchen cupboard. The last one I have left to declutter. My kitchen is very small so it didn't take very long. I don't think I will be getting rid of anything, just taking everything out and giving the cupboard a good clean, but I will see what I find in there...17 -
@florianatwobob how old is your ted Baker shower wash? I have a ted Baker bath wash which I meant to give DD1 a good few years ago. Has been opened and not used but don't feel I can give too anyone.

Well, operation rejig upstairs is mostly complete 🥳 still on the look out for a reading chair, but otherwise all shifted around.Have reorganised under the sinks, so each bathroom has what is needed rather than it being in the (now) reading room. The old storage has been refilled with various bits that wouldn't fit under the sink or that I want to keep in the room, and the top is now clear except for a candle.Someone is coming to pick up a large suitcase and a beard trimmer, and just waiting to see if anyone wants some other bits before they are chucked. I will give it no more than a week. One bag waiting to go to charity - will take it this weekend. We've also just ordered a bike shed. Currently we have 2 bikes - one in the kitchen and one in the living room 😱😱 the shed should be delivered next week and then the bikes will be outside! All Christmas decorations are away, and under the stairs has been tidied and looks better than before. An excellent start to the New Year 🥳🥳I can see (read?) That I'm not the only one who has been working hard and really encourage anyone new to this to keep following along - there's always loads of different tips and at least one should be useful!17

Hi all!
I've thrown one thing a day so far, this feels like a nice manageable habit. Yesterday's was Gu pots (YOU KNOW YOU HAVE THEM TOO!) which are never used... never wanted... just psychologically hard to throw because they are glass.
A couple of books have gone to the CS, and a t-shirt that reminded me of things I don't want to be reminded of went too.
So inspiring seeing everyone's entries here 🙏20 -
Hi, count me in please. After a really difficult 2 years, I’m hoping this year, will help me to declutter, not only our home but my overactive mind. . Looking forward to seeing all your posts.

I had a massive tidy and clean of my flat today! Cleared out drawers, cleared piles of stuff accumulating on the table, tidied and cleaned my dressing table and coffee table. Thrown out two bags worth of recycling and one bin bag of rubbish out. Also collecting a few bits for the charity shop. I threw out empty perfume bottles I seemed to have been collecting, an empty diffuser, old make up I’m not using amongst lots of others!March NSD 14/15
