Afternoon all
I love those rainbow shoes. I would buy them too.
@2Scratters sorry about your sad news.
I have finally worked out how to use my overlocker. It's so quick. Am currently making a tea dress. I look very professional, having both my machines out in the dining room. I met an old work colleague for coffee this morning. It was good to catch up. I've made some dough since I got back as we have no bread which is just proving.
Off to carry on sewing, have a good afternoon all.17 -
1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks
2. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ I have an acronym - I.R.I.S. being Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off
3. Implement a new sleep/wake up regime - start going to bed earlier (target before 2:00 a.m.) get up earlier (target by 9:00 a.m.)
4. Deal with daily mail immediately
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. If I spot a mini task deal with it immediately e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
7. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Spent an hour away from cheerleading (now 12:30) Bed has been stripped, mattress turned & started on sponging out one area of sweat stains. If it works I will tackle the other areas 🤞 The pillows have their new pillow cases on & I also did some dusting & wiped down the window sill & radiator cover + found a couple of empty deodorant cans 😔 & a cardboard box for recycling & a roll of Xmas wrapping paper which is now in the correct place 🙂 All the washing has been sorted into piles & the 1st load is in. Fortunately for me, DSis spotted I was stripping the bed as she had intended to do her washing 😬 DSis has been tidying her room & has brought down some more bubble wrap for CS + a cardboard box to be recycled.
13:10 first load of washing out - half in td, half on airer in front of a radiator. 13:40 DH phoned - leaving the bike at garage as they are short staffed & coming home by tube/DLR & bus - so will get a few more stations 🙂 I have tidied away a XMas present into packaging corner - just so I could admire how neat it was & how tidy it still is 🥳
637 - 642 Two cardboard boxes, 2 deodorant cans, metal coffee tin, paper packaging - recycled
Brie, sorry to hear that you will be unable to take on any more clients ☹️ but another way to look at is that you are obviously very, very good at your job hence so many referrals 🙂 Hope him indoors is improving & that you are both looking forward to a relaxing holiday 😊 You have a lot on your plate but I think all in all you are probably happier than you would have been working in a shop 🤞
Now, now skogar 😉 catching up on your washing IS decluttering 👏 from dirty to clean, dry, folded & put away 😊 Your purchases of a shoe rack & large tablecloth are what I would call ‘preemptive decluttering’ 👏 If/when you do move around the bedroom furniture please be careful not to injure yourself 🙏
Excellent cleaning & decluttering Soontobeoap 👏
short_bird, I know that feeling well 😉 RL has a habit of getting in the way of full tidying & decluttering, so one does have to resort to black bin bags on occasion 😔 but think how lovely your carpets will look once cleaned 😊 Excellent decluttering 👏
Well done Florenceem - still ahead of target 👏
Great work cutting out the dress pattern Madbat60 👏 How lovely that clearing out your summerhouse meant you got to sit outside & enjoy the nicer weather 😊
vulpix, you reminded me that there was a stunning sunset on Sunday to accompany the lovely sunny day 😊 Excellent decluttering, you had a very busy Sunday 👏 One medal 🏅 is coming your way for deconstructing & washing the HUGE curtains - I think that counts as eating all 4 elephant legs 👏When the door curtain is made that will be the head & trunk with the floor length curtains being the body 🥳 I would imagine there will be a CS that will bite your hand off to obtain such good quality leftover fabric 😊 Very pleased that your 10 magpies resulted in such a lovely surprise - it will be lovely to visit your DD in the Shetlands 🥳
retiredinfrance, like you I love Dfw38’s wallpaper choice - it is beautiful 😍
Dfw38, no wonder both daughters love their newly decorated room 😊 You & DH have done a wonderful job 👏 Very pleased to hear that DH has been helping to move the furniture back in, as I thought he might think that the wallpapering was the only contribution he needed to make 😉 😂 What lovely words for your DS to say “happy & ‘piderman” made me smile 😀 Great work dealing with 🐸 19 👏
EnergyShifter, What a lovely day - decluttering & being treated to supper by a friend 😊 Sorry to hear that you are worrying about DS ☹️ Everything crossed that the cyclone bypassed Mauritius - which I just looked & saw that it was heading away 😥 but will offer up a prayer that it dissipates before reaching any other landfall 🙏
Excellent decluttering of the stationery container Keiths_Mum 👏 What a nice reminder of how much your Auntie loved you - a blue fur pencil case 😊 & great electronic decluttering especially the unsubscribing from more than 20 sites 👏which has earned you a medal 🏅
daisy_1571, I am sure blue furry pencil cases were a thing in the ‘70’s 😉 I much preferred the non-furry ones 😂
TC77, the EDT is moving so fast that it makes it very difficult to read along and remember what you want to reply to 😉 The trouble with using a sharpening steel is that there is a real knack to it 😔although on a brighter note there are probably plenty of videos to show us how it is done 🙂 Wow you have been busy 🤩 so much decluttering in both your house & your dad’s house 👏 Very sorry to hear that after all that trouble with the carpet at DD1’s flat 😔 the landlord is now selling up 😖 You couldn’t make it up 😥 Everything crossed that DD1 can find a new flat quickly🤞 although that does mean you will have even more work to do 😔 As your DB has swanned off to Australia, I think you & your daughters are perfectly entitled to whatever you want from your dad’s house 😉 I am sure that if you smile sweetly & come over all girly the plumber will be delighted to help you put the desk in your car 😉DD2 can then help you get it into your house as she will need a break from studying 🙂 The birthday celebrations did go very well & I keep remembering other nice things that happened like watching a chap with his twins playing outdoor chess at the venue 🙂
I am popping off now for a little rest & to make another cuppa. I will check on the mattress & see if the cleaning worked 🤞 then come back & do some more cheerleading 😊

Thank you for my medal Mrs SD,received under false pretences. I woke up yesterday with an absolute violent streaming cold. It has floored me. Been awake all night and threw a panic attack in for good measure! Still pouring and violently sneezing today. I have had a couple of hours sleep with the help of cold and flu tablets and nurse Fomo.
As for decluttering,I have a large antique piece of furniture in my sights. It is a bookies safe from when bookie's were illegal. The bookie lived next door to my Grandma and Grandad and gave it us kids to burn one bonfire night in the 60's. My Dad saved it and had it for years in his shed. I since rescued it from muck, oil, paint and spiders and renovated it. Anyhoo it is a massive piece of lead lined oak furniture with a lot of tiny cash drawers which hold very little. Rich pickings for rammel I expect. I would happily get rid of it but Mr V likes it.

I keep forgetting to say, we have a working outside toilet and new bathroom imminent.:17

14:54 Very pleased to report that the mattress cleaning worked 🥳 so I have just done the other stains 🙂 Will let the mattress dry before remaking the bed. I have also gone into the Room of Doom & moved a couple of boxes to make it easier to access my wardrobe 🙂 although nothing decluttered ☹️ The coffee jar which I washed last night has been thoroughly dried & refilled from the tin. So back to cheerleading
16:09 the airer didn’t really work, so clothes now in td as the first load has finished. DH has just phoned again & his new ETA is 16:30 & yes he was on time 🙂
DundeeDoll, not sure why I put off dealing with 🐸 🐸 because like yours mine are usually quite painless 🙄 So I have added ‘Deal with TWO Frogs’ to my To Do list for Wednesday so wish me luck 🍀Excellent work decluttering emails 👏
Thanks vulpix 👏, I have now bookmarked Grisaille technique & will have a proper read when I have caught up on the cheerleading 🙂
QueenJess, great comment on dealing with frogs 🙂 & I see that DundeeDoll has inspired you to deal with a couple of your 🐸🐸 😊
You had a very good Monday, Liverpool_Anne, excellent decluttering 👏 You will really enjoy your worm bin if my DH is anything to go by 😅 He spends an inordinate amount of time watching various peoples vlogs from all over the world 🤣 Currently taking a quite scientific approach 😉 Sad to say, you probably are the only one who puts things in the bin 😔 It often seems like that in my house but DH & DSis are getting better 🙂 Good luck dealing with those things that are currently tadpoles 🍀
Say what GrannyKate 🤔 how on earth is it possible to resist baked goods when you are in Bakewell 😂I am astounded but also impressed 😉 Shame your lovely day out with DS has highlighted an issue with the car ☹️ Fingers crossed that both the car service & the plumbers visit are not Too expensive 🤞
Liverpool_Anne, hope the washing dried on the line yesterday before any rain turned up🤞
QueenJess, just shows that you are doing an excellent job of decluttering if you didn’t have to move anything before your cleaner arrived 🥳 Well done 👏 It sounds like your parents are finally getting the message about buying clothes for your children 😊 However more importantly I am awarding you a medal 🏅 for putting everything away in its allocated place 👏 Your parents decluttering is to be encouraged & applauded BUT with the proviso that they stop bringing their decluttered items to you 😉 Keep up the great work decluttering items from your bedroom 👏 & hopefully the careful consideration of items will lead you to accepting that your bedroom is completely decluttered 🤞😉
grandmanerd, Excellent work in your garden on Sunday 👏 Very acrobatic chinchillas but they need to keep the noise down 😅 Very, very impressive drawer decluttering 👏 Can I borrow your ‘critical eye’ when you have finished using it 🤣
Blue_Doggy, I am sure you will come up with a solution for your surfeit of plant pots 🙂 Another option (if possible) might be to put them out in your front garden for passers-by to take 🤔 which I see vulpixhas already mentioned - along with a couple more good ideas 👏
Wednesday2000, Well done on taking a look at your list of monthly bills & updating it 👏 Fingers crossed that the uptick in prices is slowing down🤞or am I just living in cloud cuckoo land 😔 I am awarding you a medal 🏅 for not only dealing with spam emails but also all your other emails 👏 Good work tidying up your garden at the weekend & making plans for the decking, fence painting & sorting out garden furniture 👏 Hope you had a lovely evening out with DB last night 😊
Good decluttering gettingthrifty 👏 but a shame about the belt 😔 Just another timely reminder to us all to ‘use it or lose it’ 😉 If your frogs are moving it is a bit tricky to deal with them 😅
Thanks QueenJess, this ‘keeping things for best’ or overstocking seems to be a bit of a money pit ☹️However, I think a lot of us are beginning to realise that our homes are not storage centres especially as no one is paying us any rent 😉 Good work with the email decluttering & the nibbling on your obese 🐸👏
Lovely post daisy_1571 😊 Still smiling after Sunday’s party 😁
Excellent decluttering Florenceem & well done on getting to 2 days ahead of target again 👏 Also very well done to both you & Mr F getting the CS bags down to one & now 2 after all your decluttering 👏The hallway must be looking so much better 😊
Well that is another page done 🥳 So I think I will stop for a while & watch a bit of TV before coming back 🤞

A lot going on since I last posted. Was busy with this month's book sale for most of the time ($362 profit).
Took down the remaining Christmas trees at my sister's house. She had only about 15 up this year, the last two big ones just came down. We put them up in November, then take them down in February. The tree I worked on had over 500 ornament on it and the idea is to get each of the ornaments back into its original box. She collects ornaments all year long to add to the hoard. After decorating her trees (where we go every year to celebrate Christmas anyway), I never feel the need to do much at my house.
Gathered up empty boxes for a friend who is packing to move (20 boxes decluttered from this house anyway). Gave away a box and two bags of food. Doesn't look like we made a dent in the supply though. Doggy came in today while the pool person was here and helped declutter some more - found a bag of jelly beans other roommate said she didn't have. She doesn't have it now. Took care of about 6 frogs from my list.
Finished up the PowerPoint video for class and finished homework for other three classes. Two new classes start tomorrow. Had my last couple of physical therapy appointments on my shoulder - therapist is going to see if we can add a couple more sessions to it.
One roommate has tried the mower (which broke because the grass was too high) and the weed whacker on the front lawn, unsuccessfully. May have to use hand trimmers on some of it. Have to wait until after Saturday though - we are expecting four days of rain here, with cold temperatures (high of 10C for Sunday predicted), and snow levels down to 1000ft (which means my sister will probably get snow as she lives in the foothills) - very unusual for Southern California. Hope the visitors to Disneyland are prepared for the cold weather and the rain. Our other major amusement park (Knott's Berry Farm) closes in the rain, but Disneyland usually doesn't.
Other than that, keeping up with the normal trash. Spending any spare time on family history - indexed parish in Switzerland my mother's ancestors were from and am now putting it on family group sheets so can share it with the parish.
Good luck everyone with your weather. My gas bill was too high this month. Turned off the heat except for one day this last week. We are all wearing sweaters around the house. Talked to my sisters and their bills were even higher but they keep their houses much warmer too. One bill was over $500 for the month and the other sister (the one about to get snow) had a bill of over $800 for the month. I don't know how people are paying these bills.12 -

Currently in the TLC carriage double masked and sitting in the corner because I've got the covids. Will be back decluttering when I feel at bit better, not too bad so far, feels like a bad cold.Start where you are, use what you have, do what you can

Not much in the way of decluttering as I've got lots of work to do sadly, so no time and I still haven't done my tidying for the day. However, I dedicated an hour to the oversized frog and moved it on a little. It's now up to them to resolve it on their end.. so fingers crossed there.I also spent a small amount of time with another never ending frog of sorting out all my online accounts. I've been going through and deleting accounts for ones I don't need, updating email addresses and ensuring all my passwords are the most secure they can be. It'll probably take at least this year, but some progress is being made.2376-2395 - permanently deleted emails2396-2400 - paper (reused, then recycled)2025 decluttering: 3,984🌟🥉🌟💐🏅🏅🌟🥈🏅🌟🏅💐💎🌟🏅🏆🌟🏅
