2023 DECLUTTERING CAMPAIGN Mrs SD

I've been in the TLC carriage since I last posted. I had a lovely meet up with a friend yesterday - passed on a painting that I no longer have space for and friend took me to supper to say thanks.
I've been worried about DS - he wasn't doing too well by the time he arrived in Mauritius - sleep deprived which is understandable for a long haul flight but is risky for someone with his history if it goes on too long. He was much better this morning after a good night's sleep so I felt more relaxed. Then I got a message from him this afternoon to say there is a cyclone heading their way. All I can do is to pray for his safety and for all others in the cyclone's path. Thankfully I've got a couple of days off to recover from op, so if I don't sleep tonight I know at least I don't have to do anything tomorrow.

Evening All
Sorted the stationary container, threw away 5 pens that are not working, dried up tippex and glue stick, broken stapler.
Found my old school pencil case which was made by my Auntie, blue fur, I think there was a fad for furry pencil cases at the time, I'm keeping it to corral my pens.
Also found 5 old diaries and 4 notebooks, these are work diaries/notebooks, will shred them but need to go through them first.
Everything else I there I will keep, have a few new notebooks but I'll use them for work.
Also decluttered my junk mail folder, deleted about 400 emails and unsubscribed from more than 20 sites.
Start where you are, use what you have, do what you can

Just been catching up, I have been reading along but forget the replies I had in my mind
Love the wall paper , I haven't seen any paper like that before - but I don't get out much
Kitchen utensils - I like these too. I found a 1950s/60s knife sharpening gadget but been advised that a steel is much better for sharpening. Debating about an old whisk with a handle. I have brought back somes stay brite long spoons for hot chocolate etc, and have an old mixing bowl. DD1 had new carpet down but found out landlord going to sell so could have got away without it. Took carpet to the tip and then to my dad's , another tip run, and counted several 300/400 piece jigsaws only to find a couple of pieces missing - I keep thinking someone must have a use for incomplete jigsaws! Handyman didn't show at dad's and plumber next week. looked through and labelled lots of tubes with posters/prints in them. DB gone to australia so I'm in charge of decluttering the house and will see if any prints fit the fames I have with faded prints. Trying to be fair. DD1 wants one of her grandad's printers, a magazine rack he made, he also did pottery so she will take a vase/pot and a letter rack. Brought back rest of 60s stainless steel set for which I already have coffee set (DD2 likes it) so trying to stick with things I can use. Also vintage desk thing with blotter and note pad, and found a stylised cartoon type cat poster I had as a kid around 1970 which DD1 likes. Had wanted to bring small desk back (and get rid of mine) but couldn't put in car on my own. Debating if I can ask the plumber to help if I take out the drawers - its quite small and now empty! Posted off large item with lots of packaging. Small bits recycled in bin and found stuff for top run. Back home and hope to do more here this week and post on free sites to get stuff out. Given stuff for tip , and also found somewhere that will take science books and small frogs done. As most not mine (but could have become) counting as 15, but also seen I have written nos for much of last week s going with a few more to make 299.
Mrs SD, hope the birthday celebrations went well.
Hope those in need of rest and TLC have managed to get some.
early night for me...15 -
goodness, last posted 15th and come back today to 145 unread. well done everyone!
I'm loving the 🐸🐸🐸 why do we put them off? has anyone finally got round to a 🐸 and thought well i can see why i put that off so long - my experience it's quite the reverse! not least cos DD2 had borrowed the car so no point amassing lots for the recycle centre / charity shop i have continued to spend my 23 minuteses on decluttering emails. I'm thrilled to report my emails are nearly 400 down on the start of the week relatively painlessly.MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Hi all, quite a good day here. Load of OHs jeans washed and almost line dried
. As the weather forecast says the same for tomorrow I have a load in the basket waiting to go out and another load waiting to be washed so the line should be full tomorrow
I have ordered my meds and did some freezer tetris which resulted in 4 containers of apples scrumped a few years ago that were destined for jam but have been in the freezer too long into the bin sadly, but room to find stuff now. I also made up a jelly very close to ubd as OH loves jelly. I had a sort out of the fruit and unfortunately some had to be thrown out, I can't wait to set up my worm bin.
I have deleted 100 more photos and videos from my phone and did a whizz around the house putting stuff in bins and recycling which were then emptied. I swear I am the only one who puts things in the bin
I also managed to drag the fridge freezer out and inspect the back. As it is tall there is a long tube from the fridge drain thing to the drip tray. I couldn't get the drip tray out but it was bone dry. I have a very small bottle brush so I ran it under the hot tap and swooshed it in the drain hole a couple of times, washing it between and then used the little jug thing from the iron to put in some hot water. I could feel the tube getting warm and when it had arrived at the drip tray I wiped it out. I am not completely convinced it is cured as I really would have liked to take the tube off and give it a proper wash but I couldn't get it off. I will keep an eye on it and repeat if needed. I will try to find an owners manual either in the house or online to at least find out how to remove the drip tray. I did check the bits of stuff I didn't know what they were with OH but no clue so they are back on the top of the fridge. OH did supervise from the lr.
. I have 2 emails to send which have rolled over for a few days and are in danger of becoming frogs that I must do tomorrow and I also want to take advantage of the reasonable weather and change the bed, I hate having wet bedclothes hanging around the house and usually pack OH off to the bag wash to use the td but it can be expensive. Although I am working my way through my lists I know I am procrastinating on some of the harder stuff which will result in more decluttering. I will have to get on to that next week, hopefully
I have caught up but my brain is on strike today so I will just say well done to everyone who has been incredibly busy, so much stuff being done. Also hugs to anybody who wants one
So
349 load of washing done and line dried, second load washed.
350 meds ordered
351 4x tubs of apples from freezer plus other gone over fruit binned
352 jelly uu
353 100 x photos and videos deleted from phone
354 bedroom bin emptied
355 kitchen bin emptied
356 kitchen recycling bin emptied
357 fridge drain cleared hopefully, task
Take care everyone

Morning all - only odd things done as DS2 and I took a random day trip out to Derbyshire. Couple of hours in Bakewell where I resisted all the tempting pastries, cakes, puddings etc. We drove a bit further but decided to come home as brakes making ominous noises. I will book it in for a service today - not due for a couple of months but needs attention. Corrected my totals from last time as I can't add up and had awarded myself 10 extra points for nothing. Boiler service moved to this afternoon. Thermostatic valve fell off radiator so guess that will be another thing to pay plumber for. Once service is done I will book the next frog on my list of 4 things to get done. I will be back later hopefully with some numbers to add.2025 Decluttering Campaign 733/2025 🏅🏅🏅🏅(🏅🏅) 🌟🌟

Hi all, I have put a load of washing on the line but it is looking a bit grey out there so I have held off from putting the next load on.
Take care everyone
