I will need to check next time I visit family across the pond where my mom's red ribbon winning quilt has ended up. She also has an amazing one made in about 1850 by some great great....aunt of mine - all red and black. The two I've got were made by my adopted grandmother (old lady that lived next door when I was a kid). The first she made me is scenes from Little Women. The second she made up and has scenes of what we used to do together. I must get them out - I worry that one day I'll unpack them to find out they've become a mouse nest or something.
Meanwhile - it's been a busy day working but I've anti cluttered a paper shredder for the food bank I work at. We end up with a lot of financial paperwork for debt clients and need a safe way to dispose. The bods in charge completely understand the need for a shredder but have been slow to get something, wanting instead to spend money on frivolous things like food & electricity. So I've been keeping an eye on Freegle and managed to snag the second one that came along. Off now to make sure it actually works.....and then it will be in the boot of my car to go to work with my on Thursday.

No decluttering today, but did do two loads of washing and a bit of tidying. I also made DS some storage for all his Lego manuals using cereal boxes, leftover wrapping and unneeded command strips. They are hung either side of his desk and can be filled with instructions that I’ve gone through and mended any that had fallen apart. So that’s something else done and more stuff off the floor in his room - nearly done in there!

@vulpix your quilt is beautiful. Did you say that it was all done by hand? A real labour of love.

Evening All
I think I've come up with a plan re the paperwork, and have shredded another 100 pieces.
Binned 2 pairs of socks, 2 pairs of underwear and a sports bra.
I've also been looking through the boxes containing my parents, Uncles and my own stuff. I know a lot of people might say, do a whole box at one time or only touch it once, but honestly if I had to decide the first time I touched something, I'd keep it all as a reaction to being rushed into a decision. A whole box I would find overwhelming, little and often works best for me.
So I have binned 3 broken picture frames and put one in the charity shop bag.
Also, not sure who was talking about finding treasures, but I found an ocarina. I bought it from a charity shop new, I didn't know what it was, just thought it was pretty. I'd like to learn to play it but since they weren't able to teach me to play the recorder at school what are my chances? Can you spot a theme here, I don't have an artistic bone on my body, also never got my music merit badge when I was a Brownie. I looked up some tutorials on YouTube that claimed to be easy, but looked pretty hard. So does anyone have any personal knowledge of this instrument and know how hard it is to learn. I'd really like to learn to play a musical Instrument, sometime before I die.Start where you are, use what you have, do what you can

Will keep you posted about dhs reaction 🤣
@Mrs_Salad_Dodger and @wort kiwi crush photo frames are certainly something I could live with. I have also found a shop online that sell lime green bedsheets so will consider ordering some. Dd is on top bunk so it won't be too bright @ eye level!
Those Lego magazine storage ideas are brilliant @QueenJess. Not sure if you (or anyone else is aware) but you can get a free magazine from the lego website. I think it comes monthly or quarterly, dds get very excited when it lands on the doormat! A lot is advertising but they do have some interesting ideas in there.
Well, 2x dusted fondant applied to 3 walls 🥳. Dds had a cheeky peek and love it. Got to paint the woodwork tomorrow - 2 coats and then Friday night dh has earmarked as feature wallpaper night 🍾 🥂. The 3 dc will move in some point next week and then I get to do it all over again in my new to me bedroom... in denim drift yay!
The room accessories won't be sorted in dds bedroom until ds moves out of it in a couple of weeks (once his bedroom is redecorated) as he is a cheeky terror.
Must admit I am chomping at the bit to declutter the bedroom stuff once the decorating is completed but am settling for living vicariously through all of your decluttering adventures! Keep up the good work! 👏

Brie, I am intrigued by your quilts. Any chance of a photo?
Queen Jess, those storage containers are lovely, what a good idea.
Soontobeoap, I prefer hand sewing, I do English paper piecing quilts usually. I have done the MSE craft stash thread on previous years and have joined up this year, but I haven't finished anything yet to declare. I love the variety of skills and the photos.I recommend it for the crafters here. I have got all my ufo's (unfinished objects) out tonight and then decided to ignore them make some hot water bottle covers instead. I am sewing an insulated inner and will then use some of the squares I have crocheted as the outer layer. I have put some offcuts in the bin, yay.
Kieths Mum, That is a lovely object. I have no advice on how to play it,sorry. Will we see you busking at the shopping centre when you have mastered it?
I have a bag of stuff for Bit by bit tomorrow, I don't count it as it's stuff that I save for her that was never destined to take up residence. Eg small toiletries for her MIL's fundraising,MCdonalds toys for grandchildren etc.
I am trying to go to bed earlier too, aiming for midnight. I don't know how you nocturnal people do it.
Mrs SD, go to bed.:14
